I could not conquer W5 D2 today.
I got through the first 8 minute run with no problem, my legs felt pretty good. The 2nd 8 minute run I just lost steam at about 5 minutes and had to walk the rest. Dang. I guess I'll be redoing it on Monday.

I am with ya here. I "beat" W5D2, but failed pretty miserably at day 3. Then life caught up with me and I have not run in two weeks. This afternoon I am going for W5D1 again before I jump right in to two miles straight again!
I was originally going to take it slowly for the last few weeks of the program, but then I looked at the date. My first week long trip begins on June 28 and I would really like to be able to just go out for a run a few days of the trip. Run 15 minutes one way and 15 minutes back and call it a good exercise day without having to worry about stopping and timing or worse yet, pushing myself too hard and getting winded or injured. I hope to get to 30 minutes by early June, so I can get a routine down before the trip, that my body just wont let me debunk.
That is the great thing about this program. You can honestly look back and see just how far you have come!
) but, I am SO proud of myself. I missed running the last three days. I should have done the final run of week 2 today. But, I decided for the heck of it, I would try W3D1 and see how it went. My plan was to stop and do W2D3 if I felt I couldn't handle it, and I wouldn't beat myself up about it. Well, I did W3D1!!!!!! I can't believe it. I ran three straight minutes! Who knew
It was challenging, but not unbearable, and I feel so good now.
I'm having a struggle to wake up and go before my daughter wakes up. I started getting on a later bedtime and its not working to get up so I have to get back on sleep schedule that allows me to get up.
) So I decided to get a solid slow base and see if the knee likes that more. I really really really want to get back into running, and just hoping my knee can keep up with my desires.
always room for more! Most of us posting lately are fairly new ourselves and just plugging along! The more the merrier! Love your greyhound pic, so cute!
W6D2 is a step DOWN from W5D3. So my plan is... complete W6D1, W6D2, run two miles, run 2.25 miles, then start week 7. We'll see how it goes!
