Congrats, everyone, on LOTS of success stories this week! Way to go!
And...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Debra! I know that you are off in the World celebrating today (as you should be!) so here's hoping you are having a magical trip! We'd love to hear about it when you return! 40 is right around the corner for me as well, which was one of the main reasons I started this whole crazy running thing in the first place!
My big challenges coming up are (1) transitioning from running inside on the TM to outside. I did a 40-minute run outside today and it went really well! I was nervous about running for that length of time outside. I think prior to today, the longest I have done outside is just over 30 minutes (longest on the TM is 55 minutes). Tomorrow I have one of those 55-min runs scheduled, and I will do it on the TM even though the weather will be fine here. I think I should transition a bit slowly. (2) My second big challenge this week will be my first speed workout on Friday. Haven't done one yet and I admit that I am intimidated by it, but so far everything else my coach has thrown at me has been fine, so I am keeping my fingers crossed about this as well.
Have a great week everyone! Keep running!

yup, that was the most I ever ran before this. Why I can do it so well now is baffling to me!
Anyway, that constant slight lean to the left (the road slightly slopes toward the curb) is what caused the bursitis.
To make a long story even longer...the PT didn't do it for me. So I opted for the cortisone shot in my hip and here I am running again.
Whoo Hoo!! I did it. I got my butt on the treadmill and did a 25 minute workout-5 minutes warm up and cool down, then 1 minute jogging and 2 minutes walking for 15 minutes.
Week 4 that is. I got in the whole thing at the right time.
I found the first two runs actually easy! Can you believe that?? I had to use all of my mental strength to get me through the last 5 minutes, but I prevailed. Just two more week 4 runs and I get to graduate to week 5 and then stay there until I'm 80
.
You have a great, positive attitude and will get through this!
If you ever need anything, please let me know. You know I'm right around the corner.
Great job on week 4! None of them are easy, that's for sure!
