2008 Adventures announced!

If the TA discount is any indication, the prospects sounded good. The agent I spoke with couldn't say for sure, but she seemed to be optimistic that they would offer what they had in the past for that one. If they do one, I'm guessing they will continue to do something for repeaters etc. too.

What is the advantage of puttting money down before they come out with pricing? I know its refundable but it seems the only reason is to reserve a space. I can't imagine the trips would sell out before pricing is released. If they were giving a discount for putting money down now then maybe I would do it, but I think I'll just wait and see how much the cost first.

I am very excited about the Germany adventure! It sounds like a lot of fun and I have always wanted to visit! I can't wait until the pricing is released so I can know how much I need to save up!

when is pricing scheduled to come out? and I too wonder what is the incentive in booking when pricing is not even announced?

Hey there!

My wife called ABD earlier and they had no info on the discount nor on the pricing. She was told perhaps around Sept 4th they'll announce the pricing along with the trip details and stuff. Australia sounds great and so does behind the scenes stuff at Disneyland!

If you really want a specific date, the early booking allows you to lock it in. Chances may not be huge that you'll lose it if you don't book early, but you never know. I'm guessing that more than a few people will combine the CA ABD with the Panama repo cruise. I booked mine for April so it probably won't go that fast, but booking early appeals to the anal retentive planner in me.

Thanks memeyers for posting. I agree with last posting, I tried to get a few dates last year when they came out with the itineraries and some dates were actually full for quads or triples!!! Early booking is just wise and its nice to know you can get money back. CA is already booking up some for a few dates. Great one to do backstage to I love Disneyland

That is why I booked when I did. The timing is perfect as my tour ends on the day the cruise starts. So I get a double dose of Disney! I was planning on visiting Hollywood and Disneyland before the cruise anyway, so why not do it first class. I'm just hoping that the DVC points aren't too much  There really is no advantage to booking before the amount comes out, but I just wanted to be sure I got the date.

I have become an official Disney adventurer...booked trip for Paris/London. MJgirl, you definitely influenced my decision. Your blog was great!! Thanks!

2008 Adventure Travel Dates (9 Days/8 Nights)

I'm with you. If only we had an extra $10,000 laying around.:rolleyes1

Can I join in too? We're booking the China trip for June 1-13. I'm SO glad I looked this up last night on a whim. We've wanted to take the kids to China (being 1/2 Chinese) and thought the Olympics would make a great excuse. I got several quotes for our family of 4 to Beijing including round trip flight, hotel (for only 5 nights!), meals, and several Olympic venues. The total was over $17,000!!!

Surely 13 days in China with ABD won't cost that! My mom read an article in the Chinese newspaper that hotels are increasing their rates by 4 or 5-fold during the Olympics! Outrageous! :sad2:

We're DVC but won't be using points since we borrowed some for our trip to Alaska this past May. Early June will be perfect as we can also celebrate the kids' birthdays while we're there and get me off the hook for birthday parties next year. :rolleyes1

We really want to go to Europe next year but when we saw the 2008 ABD China trip we thought we would check out the price. $3,999 (early booking discount) cheapest time frame per adult. Whew! Does that include the air IN China? The Europe trip with Globus we were looking at was $2,850pp for 16 nights (London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Lucierne.)

I'm so bummed.....we got the quote from our TA for the China trip....the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids), 13 nights in China, including RT air....grand total: about $21,000. Doesn't look like we're going to China. WHO can afford that???? :confused3

Yes it does include the flights within China, actually 3 of them getting from place to place

mjgirl also inspired me to book our London/Paris trip. We booked early in order to get the specific dates we wanted. I can't wait to hear about the China adventure as that is the one we will probably go on next.

We don't typically use a travel agent, so I booked directly with ABD (Viva Italia - July 08). I was very pleased with their service and responsiveness. Also, got the early booking discount, which saved us quite a bit.
