We just booked this cruise today. We booked the 15 day Eastbound repositioning cruise in Jan. 2007 but will cancel it and take 2 four day cruises and spend several days in the parks now instead.

It will be me (Danielle), DH (Derek), DS then 11 (Keegan) and DS then 7 (Brennan).

It will be our 6th DCL trip and we are really looking forward to it, especially the 2 stops at CC.

Has anyone looked into getting a day room at Atlantis? We are thinking of doing that to get the wristbands. I see some really good rates come up from time to time that are much cheaper than booking it through Disney.

Hey Danielle - Welcome my fellow HP host!!! Have you recouped after the big blast!!! :cool1:

My sons will be 11 and 9 at cruise time!!

It is so great that you are doing 2 cruises - and WDW - WOO HOO!! We are doing Vero Beach for a few days before the 8/24 Double Dip! Can't wait!!

Hope all is well on your end!
Laurie

Mandy & Michele,

Hi Danielle:wave2: :welcome: aboard
Truthfully we were thinking we would just stay on the ship in Nassau:confused3 I have see those great rates pop up on travel zoo all the time. I will keep my eyes open for you. We are a family of five so we would have to get 2 rooms so it really doesn't seem worth it to us. Plus my DH works for Anheuser Busch and we will probably go to the new Aquatica waterpark they are opening in March next to Sea World.:goodvibes

We aren't going to get off the boat at Nassau either - I wasn't thrilled with it last time - so, we'll enjoy the boat instead!!

Thanks for the welcome!

We are thrilled to be able to do the 2 cruises and 10 days at the parks (especially since both are less than 1/2 the cost that the repo was going to be).

We are not positive we are going to do anything in Nassau, but the new waterpark looked interesting. We have been there about 4 times and have done the Blue Lagoon Dolphin excursion, the pirate museum, city tour and strawmarket. If we don't do the waterpark/slides at Atlantis, we'll stay on the ship. We are definitely going to stay on the ship when we are there in December.

It took a good while to clean up our kitchen and play room after the houseparty, but we had a great time and I think we managed to persuade a few families to book in the next couple of years.

Thanks!

We have Sea World and Aquatica on our list for the next year too. We haven't been to Sea World in 2 years now so we'd love to get back there soon.

We love Sea World. We haven't done Discovery Cove yet ,but now that my youngest will be 8 I think it's time to do it. My girls love dolphins and just know they would love that experience. Did your boys love the dolphin excursion in Nassau?

We LOVED the dolphin encounter in Nassau. We did it in 2005 when it still included the lunch/beach time (I read somewhere on the Dis that over the last couple of years they got rid of the lunch --which was nothing great, but it was something to eat). We've done the dolphin encounters in Cozumel and Anguilla, and the Blue Lagoon was by far our favorite.

Discovery Cove is also on our list of things to do over the next few years. We have WDW AP's so we try and stick with WDW parks and stick a non -Disney park in here and there. We are going to do Universal in August, and it's been almost 3 years since we've been there. We absolutely love Sea World and have been there a good half dozen times over the last 5 years. My boys especially love Clyde and Semour's Sea Lion and Otter show and feeding the dolphins. I'm hoping by now they have some new jokes for Clyde and Semour's show because I think we all new the entire thing by heart. The boys never got tired of seeing it though---sometimes a couple of times a day.

Welcome aboard Danielle, it's great to have you with us. I'm Mandy (from the UK) and I'll be travelling with my hubby Paul and 2 DD's who will be 17 & 15 when we cruise. This will be our 7th Cruise (we have done 5 x 3 night and this will be our 2nd x 4 night) and we're really looking forward to it.

Our plans are 8 nights at the Caribbean Beach Resort (with free dining plan), 4 night Cruise and 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel

I look forward to getting to know you more :thumbsup2

Meet you at the pool:drinking1 :rolleyes1

We're not fans of Nassau either, so we'll be staying onboard - see you by the pool with a Bahama Mama girls ;)

We're hoping to get to SeaWorld too, as we've never been on Kraken, and that is on our 'to do' list

Have a great day girls :)

Hi Daniellle! Nice to meet you!

Hope you all have a great day! We are expecting the ice storm also... Our kids are on a half day because we teachers have to grade the ELA... I KNOW they won't release us early! Hopefully we don;t lose power! I am looking foward to coming back here tonight!:beach:

Welcome aboard danelle,
I am looking for a good deal for atlantis as well. I don't want to book 2 rooms for 5 people.
Michele

Now that I'm working in our district I'm more excited than the kids. John just left with Angelina for her surgery and she's so psyched that she won't be missing school now!!!! My 2 little ones are still asleep, they don't even know they have no school yet

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

We have a 2 hour delay due to ice.

DH and I were trying to figure out our land itinerary before/after the cruise as to what parks and restaurants we are going to go to each day. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Villas and will have 2 nights before and 4 nights after the cruise.

I was telling him about Atlantis/the new water park next to it and he said since we won't be having a sea day due to the double dip at CC he'd rather just stay on the ship and try the water park in December.

For those of you with 5 family members could you hook up and "share" the cost of an extra room with a few families of 5? I know that in the last 2 weeks I read on Disboards that some people had received 5 wrist bands from one room, but I can't remember if it was from the Comfort Suites.

Morning Danielle So I guess we should save you a seat at the pool?;) Mandy likes her Bahama Mamas and I think I'll have a pina colada:cool1: I never thought about splitting the room with someone, that would work I suppose but unless someone in my family really wants to go I agree with your DH, use it as a sea day. Hopefully the ship will be less crowded than a typical sea day. I really wish they were having brunch at Palo that day.

Good morning everyone...

Welcome Danielle!

Suzanne...congrats on the snow day. I hope your daughter feels well enough to enjoy it after the dentist.

We are probably going to be joining you by the pool in Nassau. We debated going to the the British Colonial for a few hours to swim but with no day at sea we really are more interested in staying on the ship. Especially coming from 7 day cruises I think I will miss having that time on the ship to eat, hang by the pool and my son really wants the Mickey slide.

We are doing the Nick hotel for one night before the cruise (kids request) then 4 days at Pop doing the parks after.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Veronica
