Thanks Veronica, so I guess that's another seat to save by the pool. (and no I don't really save seats by the pool and break one of the DIS commandments thou shall not save seats:rolleyes1 )

Morning Danielle So I guess we should save you a seat at the pool?;) Mandy likes her Bahama Mamas and I think I'll have a pina colada:cool1: I never thought about splitting the room with someone, that would work I suppose but unless someone in my family really wants to go I agree with your DH, use it as a sea day. Hopefully the ship will be less crowded than a typical sea day. I really wish they were having brunch at Palo that day.

I'm voting for a strawberry dacquire by the pool Not looking forward to the bathing suit though. I really need to get motivated to lose the weight or i will be at the pool with my shorts on again.lol

We are expecting the ice storm also... Our kids are on a half day because we teachers have to grade the ELA... I KNOW they won't release us early! Hopefully we don;t lose power! I am looking foward to coming back here tonight!:beach:

Woo Hoo SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:  :dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Now that I'm working in our district I'm more excited than the kids. John just left with Angelina for her surgery and she's so psyched that she won't be missing school now!!!! My 2 little ones are still asleep, they don't even know they have no school yet

We have a 2 hour delay due to ice.

Suzanne...congrats on the snow day. I hope your daughter feels well enough to enjoy it after the dentist.

Hey Girls

I have just been watching Fox News (we get it over here too) and the Ice Storm looks awful. How come you all like the snow ? :rotfl2: I hate it, I really dislike being stuck at home and feeling cold. Over here in the UK, we only have to have an inch or so of snow and the roads come to a stand still. So I hope you all stay warm, and enjoy it (though you must be a bit bonkers :rotfl: :rotfl: ) ;) - Roll on the Summer !!

Suzanne, I hope Angelina is able to enjoy the snow too after her surgery

Morning Mandy,
We were supposed to get rain and ice this morning at 6 a.m. but still nothing yet. I hope it stays that way. i would rather snow than icy cold rain pellets. Michele

Michele, I'm not going to be around much this weekend, as Kerry's party/sleepover starts in a few hours (and Paul & me are being forced round the pub :rotfl2: ) and then tomorrow we're away for the day and night (weather permitting), so could you please pass on these birthday wishes for Sarah

Wow Thank you mandy, One day you will have to tell me how to do that.lol Have a great time this weekend and tell kerry have a great birthday. Try not to be to bummed you have to sit at the pub...:rotfl: :rotfl:

Well she's back already from the surgery. Oy it's going to be long day. Poor thing is in a lot of pain. The road's are horrrifc according to my DH. Ice pellets are hitting the windows as we speak on top of a few inches of snow and ice. Not a good combo.

OK so we have Bahama Mama's, pina coladas, and strawberry daquiris......who needs Nassau?

Mandy have a great time......

Poor thing..I hate when my kids are in pain. You wish u could take it all away .

It started hailing pellets here about 5 minutes ago.

I read in someone's trip report that slash from guns and runs was on their cruise. I wouldn't mind seeing bonjovi on the chair next to me..

 Aww poor thing, I hope she's feeling better soon

Mmm, I could just drink a Bahama Mama now, and in a couple of hours, I'll need more than one with a house full of loopy teenagers :scared1:

Thanks, I hope I have a great time too :thumbsup2

Have a fab weekend everyone :)

LOL, not yet Michele. It's 4.45pm here and Paul won't finish work till about 6pm. Kerry's best mate is coming at 5.30pm and the rest at 6pm. Unfortunately it has just started snowing, so we may have to just wander round to our local pub (just around the corner), but I prefer to go to the bar in my favourite restaurant so I can have a large glass of White Zinfandel (mmm)

So at the moment everything is very calm and quiet - but not for long :rotfl:

Enjoy the calm before the storm then..:)

The rain is really coming down hard here now. The roads are ok but the sidewalks are horrendous. I drove my ds10 to the bus stop at the end of the block and some of the kids walking were sliding everywhere. I ended up with a vanful of 5th/6th graders because I couldn't stand to see them getting all soaked and frozen. DS6's stop is at the end of our driveway and I had to walk across the grass or I'd have slipped. They are now saying we might have bad thunder storms this afternoon. It's just plain miserable out there. I won't be going to my long awaited scrapbook night tonight.Took us a month to figure out when we could all get together minus kids and husbands, but I'm not chancing it turning into sheets of black ice. DH is a police officer and has seen more than a few wrecks today. Really makes CC all the more appealing right now:

Is anyone else having trouble logging on to Disboards today? Since yesterday, when I try to post I have to log in again and then it says "thanks for logging in Hanover" and goes right back to the log in page. I had to reboot my computer twice to just post two times.

I haven't read all the posts on this thread, but happy birthday to those celebrating their birthdays and I hope suzannef's daughter has a speedy recovery.

Hey danielle,
Just 61/2 months and we will be there. I haven't had any problems with the boards today. Hope you have a great day (if that's possible with this lovely weather).
Michele

Danielle
That is one of the prettiest pictures I have ever seen!!!:thumbsup2 Thank-you for the well wishes for Angelina. She is hungry now and eating some scrambled eggs so that is a good sign.

thanks, I love that picture too---it's my screen saver. I used it on a photo cake for our DCL houseparty. I have one other favorite of the Magic from Villefranche when we were on the Med cruise this past July. The yachts nearby the ship were amazing. Some had helicopter pads and swimming pools!

I was told last week our kids would be starting school this year after Labor Day--that our state was passing a statewide mandate to start school after Labor Day to enhance tourism in August. Well, today I noticed that the 2008-2009 calendar for our district has been posted with a 8/26 start date. Looks like the boys will miss 4 days unless the mandate comes through. They'd have missed them if we were on the repo, but we would not have been going on the 4 day Wonder in December and missing another 6 days. I'm just glad they have been in the same schools, will have orientation to meet their new teachers and do not get in trouble for vacations. I'm sure there won't be too much homework the first week too.

My girls missed the 1st three days of school last year when we were on the Wonder. They certainly didn't miss any school work, just social stuff like picking locker mates and such. Given the choice though I'm sure they would pick the cruise;)

yeah, my boys would rather live on the Wonder or Magic than go to school! So would their mom and dad! They'll have orientation the week before 8/24 and meet their teachers, find their rooms, desks, etc. They will be at the same school so there's nothing huge they'll miss out on. They usually do not do squat work wise the first week of school except review work they should know from the previous year. The boys aren't thrilled they'll miss 2 football games, but even then they'd rather be on the Wonder.

Does anyone know for certain what restaurant you start in on the 6PM rotation? We were asked what we wanted --5:30, 5:45 or 6PM. We chose 6PM, but I know we may not get it. I think we had 5:45 in December 2006 and I can't recall without looking through my pictures what rotation started in what dining room. I wanted to know in case we do Palo one night. Are they definitely not doing brunches on the double dip 4 day cruises in the summer since there is no sea day? I haven't had a chance to go through many of the 4 day threads yet. I work from home and have been trying to go through what I can.

I'm just glad this thread is so much more manageable than the eastbound repositioning cruise. I had 4 posts in the last year on it and some people had several thousand a piece. They had over 7,000 posts and I couldn't keep up with any of it. The first Eastbound repo thread was just shelved from being too big and there's already 147 pages of new posts.
