2008, 24th/28th Aug - *Double Dipping with the Bahama Mamas* (Part 2)

Glad you were able to get out today. We've had so much snow here that the kids are almost out of snow days. Once they run out the school starts taking vacation days away from their April vacation week.

Maine was fun. We didn't do too much. I want to go back in the summer months when I can go to the coast and do some sight-seeing.

Hey Sandy ~ I see that the Shuttle Launch date has changed, have you changed your trip too ? or will you still be off to Florida ?

I could just do with a quick trip to Orlando, as we've had another couple of inches of snow during the night

The girls are off school/college today, and I'm not keen on driving in the snow, so I'll probably stay in and catch up with some housework (boring !!!!)

Hi Mandy-

Unfortunately we are going to miss the launch as it has been rescheduled for the morning after we leave We thought about changing our flights but then we'd have to pay for the car for 4 more days and there's still no guarantee that it would go up. We'll try going another time. We will still visit the space center though and have lunch with an astronaut.

Good luck with the snow. We haven't gotten any new snow for a bit but it is sooo cold here. I think last night it was 0 degrees. Stay warm and say hi to the girls and Paul

Oh what a shame that you will miss it Sandy. I know it's hit and miss with a Shuttle Launch, but I know how excited I would've been

I bet you can't wait to get some Florida sun on you

We had more snow during the night. Kerry and a couple of her friends had a productive morning

They must have had so much fun. Right now it is 6 degrees but feels like -7 degrees. Way too cold for me This time next week we will be at Universal Studios and it's supposed to be in the high 70's, much better

Oh lucky you. Will you be going to Islands of Adventure too ? I love The Mummy ride and The Hulk.

What are your plans for each day ?

We will be doing both parks, Tori and I can't wait to ride the mummy, it's our favorite. Ian discovered that he likes roller coasters now so he's keen on riding it as well. We'll have to see how he handles it. We will be going to Kennedy Space Center on Monday. I'm sure we will be fitting in a couple of beach days and I know we will have dinner one night at Medieval Times Castle. I'm sure my father-in-law has many things planned that we have no idea about.

Your plans sound great Sandy. Are you staying with Christopher's parents or are you staying in a hotel ? I think you're going to have a great time

We are staying with his parents. They rent a house every winter. They are looking to buy one but I don't think they've found anything yet.

I think Danielle is getting off the Disney Wonder today. I hope she's had a great time

Danielle ~ When you get back, will you tell us all about your Cruise and show us some photos ? Pllleeeaaassseee

She is getting off the ship today. I can't wait to hear all about it as well. I can't wait until next month when I get to have a short cruise. I'll be missing the Bahama Mamas though

What date are you cruising Sandy ? Have you been on the Meets thread ? Are they as cool as the Bahama Mama's ?

I think the cruise starts March 12 and I have been to the thread. Not many people there at all so I didn't join. No one can compare to the Bahama Mamas

Have you had a nice weekend ? What did you get up to ?

It's still very cold over here, and we've bits and pieces of snow too

We didn't get up to too much this weekend. Saturday evening Paul & I went to Birmingham, where we had a nice meal and stayed over at a hotel. We had a lovely time

We haven't got any plans for this week. There's more snow due

Danielle ~ Thanks for your email. It sounds like you still had a great cruise despite Castaway Cay being cold. I don't like the sounds of all these little cut backs that they're doing on the cruises. I like all the little extras, like streamers at sailaway and bandanas on Pirate Night

Lucky you for heading back to WDW in June. I remember how much fun you had at the Star Wars Weekends last year.
