2008, 24th/28th Aug - *Double Dipping with the Bahama Mamas* (Part 2)

Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday!

Debi - Glad the kids ears are Ok. Have a great flight and have fun in FL!

I plan on doing some cleaning and packing today and I need to hit a couple more stores for little things. Tonight we have a 40th birthday at a friends home. Hopefully I'll have a chance to check in later.

Have a good day everyone and happy vacationing to those who are leaving or already in FL!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - I have been reading along - not too sure if I'll be able to catch up .. .but, I had to share this information!

My sis and I were talking this morning, trying to figure out what was what the cruise... which night was dress-up, pirate, toy story, etc. I actually checked and they had Palo availability - so, I wanted to make sure it wouldn't interfere w/anything else going on... ANYWAY - long story short... this is what we have:

We are Main Dining - 5:45
Day 1 - Animator's Pallette - cruise casual
Day 2 - Parrot Cay - Pirate Night
Day 3 - Parrot Cay - dress up night (we are doing Palo at 7)
Day 4 - Triton's - cruise casual

As far as the shows go:
Day 1 - Golden Mickeys
Day 2 - Comedy show (she wasn't sure of the name - lady on the phone had an accent)
Day 3 - Toy Story
Day 4 - Disney Dreams

So - we are going to do Palo at 7 on Day 3 (nassau) - and rush out of there for the 2nd show w/the kids (8:30 pm) - they will either be w/my sis at the first show (6:15) or at the club till we are done w/dinner!

Moral of the story - you can call the 800 number and get your information!!!!!!!!

Gotta run - party at noon, just got out of the shower! LOL

Hope the party is fun Laurie! I just tried to call the 800 number and I couldn't get my rotation, I was told they are not set until the day of. Oh well, it will be a nice surprise when we check in! We are doing Palo at 6:30 on Pirate Night. It actually works out well for us because my parents just aren't dress up people. I would have enjoyed experiencing it, but I will have something to look forward to on the Magic next summer. We should be finished with dinner in time to see the Pirate Party and the fireworks.

As for my picture: This is me in in Nassau a few years ago. I am planning on wearing my Dis Unplugged t-shirt, so you can identify me by that!

Good Morning Bahama Mama's

  Yay !! It's only 1 week till the Bahama Mama's are finally together:banana:

Well it's 6am here and I've been wide awake since 4.30am (my body is still on UK time - which would be 11am now)

The Caribbean Beach Resort is lovely, and we've got a room in Martinique, which is very close to the food court

We're loving the free dining, and we had our first meal in the food court last night - I had rotisserie chicken dinner (Mmmm)

Last night we went up to the Florida Mall, where the girls made there first purchases ;) and then we stocked up on Oreo's, Lays, Mountain Dew and water from Wal-Mart

We're having an easy day today. We've got breakfast with Lilo & Stitch this morning, then we'll probably come back to the resort to lie by the pool. I think we'll be going to the Mall at Millenia or Festival Bay this afternoon, then probably hit Epcot later on

Have a great day everyone, catch you all later

.. and by the way .... It's Only 7 Days to go !!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey Mandy - Sounds like things are going well for you!!

The most important question is............................... what are they saying about the weather?? UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :scared1:

Enjoy Lilo and Stitch today! That is my fav character meal at WDW!

Check in w/us when you can!
Laurie

Hi Mandy, I'm so excited for you to already be there!
How's the weather? I've been watching accuweather for the updates on Fay and it looks like it will be in Georgia by the time we fly down on Thursday morning. Hopefully it won't delay our flight and we can fly around it!

Laurie, I'm glad you were able to find out your dining rotation. It sounds like a really good one to get ! We've got early dining as well, not sure of the rotation.

Debi, I hope you flight down was good and didn't bother the kid's ears.

We've been very busy lately and I've only managed to get Brennan's things packed. Well not really packed, but all laid out and just ready to be put in gallon size ziplocks and his suitcase.

We had pictures for both the boy's football teams yesterday, then Brennan's pokemon tournament/early release of a new deck. There must have been 60 to 70 kids there (and adults) and he loved it. Keegan and my MIL had Ravens tickets and stayed late to watch Michael Phelps swim for his 8th gold medal on the Raven's jumbo tron.

Today's my dad's birthday and we are going over to my parent's house for a small party with some friends and my brother's family. Brennan and I made him a big air craft carrier cake (he's retired Navy).

I'm hoping to get Brennan's stuff in his suitcase and lay out all of Keegan's stuff and start on my own. The next few days are jam packed and I don't want to leave it until Wednesday. That day we've got our Amish friends coming back over, a football scrimmage and Keegan's class orientation before heading to the hotel. It will be nice to sit and do nothing at WDW, but I know we are going to be buzzing to get to the parks.

I hope everyone's doing a better job packing and if you've left that your ride/flights down are safe and that you have a great time.

This time next week we'll be up getting ready to eat breakfast and head to the port. It's surreal that our trip is almost here!

Morning Bahama Mamas

Mandy - Thanks for checking in with us! Its great to hear what you are up to! Have a great time today!

Laurie - What are you up to today - you'll be leaving so soon now- is everything almost done?

Jen - Good luck getting your shopping done and everything organized. Keep those countdowns coming!

Danielle - I get exhausted just reading your emails! Have fun with your dad today and good luck with the packing!

A big hi to everyone else!

I was going to spend today just packing (especially Tom's stuff while he is home) but my brother called yesterday and invited me over. My niece, her husband and the baby are up from Miami (they were supposed to fly up tomorrow but with the weather didn't take a chance and flew up early). My nieces husband has an appointment at Sloan Kettering on Tuesday. Things are not going well and we are hoping the doctors there will at least try to help him (where others were not hopeful or willing). His 28th birthday was on Monday so we will have a little celebration today. Makes me realize packing is not so important anymore and I will get it done eventually. I am looking forward to seeing their baby since we haven't seen him since Feb. and he has gotten big (he's 7 months now). I will try to check in with everyone later today.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Hi All

We made it to Atlanta to visit my nephew. the ride was not too bad hit some short lived intense showers. it is a little overcast here today, but they are not encuraging about the weather tonight. THEY ARE evacuating the Floida Keys (but that is pretty standard). We laeve here around 2pm and hope to get to WDW by 9 or 10 PM. Hopefully before the storm. I hate driving in the rain and worse at night in the rain. At least if we are driving we can stop and stay somewhere if the weather is too bad. Good luck to all traveling and hope your flights are safe and not delayed.:wizard:

See you soon
Mary Ellen

Hi everyone...

A quickie from me! Wanted to pop on to say Hi!!! I am busy w/work, but didn't want to neglect the group!!

We leave Tuesday morning from Philly Airport at 6:50 AM - hoping the weather holds out!!

I have been reading along - sorry I don't have time to reply! I am SO excited that this time in ONE week - we'll be at our mandatory safety drill!!!

I will TRY to be here for sailaway - but, I think we are heading out for a bit - so no promises!!

Hope all is well!
Laurie

Hello All! We are here, the flight was great and the kids ears are fine:banana:
The weather is ok for now, The stores are packed with people getting supplies, I have been to both Publix and Walmart and the lines were LONG.
We are going to HS in the morning. We were going to go Tuesday but that is when they are saying the storm is going to hit Orlando. So far it looks like the rest of the days are typical Florida thunderstorm possible days. I know things can change but I like the way the forcast looks now. :wizard:
We are planning MK on Wed for now, we are having breakfast at the castle.princess:
Safe travels to those traveling the next few days. I will let you know how the parks are tomorrow.:cool1:

Debi - Glad you arrived safely and the kids ears are ok!

Now - I am getting nervous - we arrive on Tuesday - UGHHHHHHHH - I am just crossing my fingers we can land at 9:06 as planned, and deal w/the rain - I am not happy w/this weather situation - FL managed to be free of big storms and hurricanes ALL summer !!! :scared1: NOWWWWWWWWWWWw - it has to happen!!

Anyway - enjoy your day at HS tomorrow! I can't wait to hear how it all goes when you post tomorrow!!

BTW - how is the villa that you are staying in???

Laurie

Hey Bahama Mama's

Just a quick 'hi'. It's nearly 7.30am, and we're getting ready to leave for EMH's at Animal Kingdom. After riding Expediition Everest a few times, we've got breakfast at Tusker House

We had a lovely time with Lilo & Stitch yesterday and it was nice and hot here too

It looks like we'll be Tropical Storm Fay watching tomorrow, it sounds like we're going to have a lot of rain - nevermind :)

  See you in 6 days:banana:
