Check it out!!! I will be lurking and posting on occassion!!!! I never rack up many posts on that board. I tend to be positive with my comments as I hate those who bash other gyms/teams. Burns my butt!!! See you over there......

Hi,
I'm back from Disney and already going through some serious withdrawals! Thanks for starting this list of comps! What I'm hoping to do is list each competition and then list each dismember's screen name under it that will be attending. That way if you want to meet a fellow cheer mom and disser' at a comp you can! :goodvibes If everyone wants to send in the comps they will be attending I can put it together.

That would be fantastic! I would love to go and cheer for other teams at Cheersport and Dallas!

Cheersport in February?

Perhaps we will run into you :cheer2:

Nope :guilty: It is a new competition that Deep South Cheer is hosting in April. It actually happens to be Easter weekend. What great planning! :headache:

Deep South Cheer is the parent company of my daughter's gym, Central Mississippi Cheer.

As for the competition - it is next weekend at the MS State Fair. I am really worried, we have had a lot of kids not showing up the last few practices so I don't know how ready they will be. :scared: The coach has called for an extra practice this weekend to help get them ready.

We usually run some extra practices before a big competition.

Good luck competing so soon. Our first comp is Dec. 12 or 13!!

Have you heard any feedback regarding the new Wii AllStar Cheer game?

I didn't know they were coming out with one. My DD would love it! :cool1: it would be great if the game was out before Christmas!!!!

I think it was released yesterday or maybe even today!! I did not see it at Target when I was there last night. My younger DD who does not cheer allstar but just pop warner would really enjoy it.

So, less than a week to go and they still have not practiced the entire routine together and have not even started with the music. This is going to be an interesting weekend!

How did it go??

We don't start competing until December. First comp in Indy, Dec 12 (or 13)

My Dd's routine is coming together. It is difficult with senior kids as they miss quite a few practices for high school, work etc. It does get frustrating but somehow they seem to pull it off!! DD's stunt sequence is pretty amazing to me and she is hitting it pretty much!! By the time Indy rolls around, she will have it solid.

Hope everyone's season is going well so far.............

How did it go??

They finished 2nd out of 2. The other squad's routine was very sloppy, but their stunting was more difficult than ours.

We were all so proud of our kids, they seemed to pull it together at the last minute.

Oh and on another good note...my DD got her roundoff back handspring back tuck this week, she was so excited!

We are supposed to have another competition in Shreveport November 1, but they are still iffy about that one.

Congrats to your DD for gettng her RO BHS tuck!!! Before you know it she will be throwing those fulls!!!

Hey, at least they got out there and competed. Worked out the kinks and will be ready for their next comp. Teams usually don't 'peak' sometime until around late Jan/early Feb!! (so I am told!!)........Routines change all the time based on judges opinions and the scoresheet.

I wish we could hit the floor before Indy!!!

Does anyone's daughter only do school cheer? My 7th grader is a retired gymnast, cheering at school for the first time. Here's my issue with school cheer: They have to have such fantastic skills to make the squad (esp at the high school level), then they do....not much. They go to a couple of competitons in the winter, but during the football season, they just stand at the sidelines, doing what anyone could be doing. The drill team does demanding routines in both football and competition season, but the cheerleaders only do demanding stuff for a couple of months. I'd like to steer DD toward drill team, but she really loves cheer. And her tumbling is getting better and better.

I need an attitude adjustment.

The other bothersome thing is that both in middle and high school, the drill team is highly disciplined and well behaved, and the cheerleaders are undisciplined and pretty much have to commit a crime to be kicked off the squad.
