2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

Good Morning Cruisers! Was too busy to make it to the boards yesterday – but got all my shopping for Thanksgiving out of the way!

We have been working on the icicle lights in the evenings, last evening was calm and we managed to get up several strands – hopefully tonight will be calm also so we can get a couple more up. That should leave only one or 2 left for the weekend, and the forecast is not great for the weekend – it is supposed to get cold and some snow. The wind is the hardest when up on a ladder, and holding long strings of lights, the static decorations will be easier to put up in the wind!

Weather has been really nice all week!

Have a great day, and a great Turkey Day tomorrow!

Sounds like fun! I'm glad the weather is cooperating for you. DH is out starting to get the lights up between storms right now. We have had unseasonable warm weather for weeks now, but it started raining last night and is supposed to rain again off and on for the next several days. Typically he starts hanging lights Turkey day morning and finishes up late Saturday night.

Deanna it is great to hear from you! I'm sorry things have been bumpy, but glad it has worked out in the end. I love the styrofoam story:rotfl2: I can so see that happening around here too:rotfl2: . DD is still knitting, but isn't doing the prayer shawl ministry any more. She is on the competitive swim team now and swims nearly 20 hours a week. Not a lot of time leftover after school, eating and oh, yeah - sleeping! DH, myself, and our youngest DD are booked on the WB TA in 2010. The older two DD's will be Jr and Soph in HS and just can't miss the school so they will be staying home with the grandparents. DD#3 will be 7 at the time and I have no problem with her missing several weeks of 2nd grade so she will make her third trip to Europe:rolleyes1 . It won't be the same as our wonderful trip in 2007, but it does look to be a good group of people with a lot of people from the 2007 trip also. It would be great to have you join the group! Do you think you can teach this very clumsy lefty to knit? Now that would be a challenge! Again, great to hear from you:grouphug: .

Anna

I love this thread - everybody is so happy and things are looking up for everyone. Hadley, as you know, we are VERY excited for you. Okay, Deanna what is the deal with losing 30 lbs. - how did you do that? I want to know!!!! I need to do at least 15 before the 2010 cruise! We would love to see you there Deanna. Just like Anna says - it seems like a good group and we are excited. Hopefully everyone has a fabulous turkey day and all goes well for everyone. Lynn - your lights sound great - good luck continuing! We are going to see Bolt tomorrow - hopefully it will be great!

We are going to see Bolt tomorrow - hopefully it will be great!
I took my 5yo grandson last Saturday. He was a little scared at first because of the noise and the TV show villains. But once he got past the beginning he was alright.

He is standing beside me and saw everyone else's silly icons and wants to add some of his own. :cool1: :rotfl: :rolleyes1

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I've missed all of you, I've been prepping for back to back presentations. We had 2 conferences this week, one good and one terrible (not us, the running of the conference!) We are supposed to go to the Grand Ballroom at DL today for dinner, but Zoe came home with a 101 fever after the Kindergarten feast (on Tue.) They actually called me in the last 15 min. of our presentation at the Anaheim Convention center and said to come get her. It was a very poorly run conference and all we wanted to do was go to CA ADV. across the street. Then she ran a fever of 102-103 all night. We'll see how she is today, but I have a feeling I'll be cooking after all. Fortunately, I have everything to make a small t-day dinner.

My sister and I are going to see Twilight - a good vampire love story for the holidays. we've been listening to the entire series and are in love with it. We love the Macy's day parade. Then we were supposed to go to our good friends home, but Zoe can't go, so maybe we'll go for a few minutes by ourselves. I'm done with Xmas and shipping everything out Friday morning!!!!

Wow, DAnn! Could you have more going on these days????? I'm glad you guys worked it out.

Hadley, keeping my fingers crossed, sounds like Dave is in the middle of job hunting!

Cayla and Deanna, Sorry to hear about your Gma's. Mine is 93. lost Gpa last year at 94.

Scott and Lynn, how was the October races at WDW? Did you see Anna (Nanaguide)?

We had a ton of rain the past 2 days, after all the fires we are just waiting for the houses to start sliding off the hills :scared1: :scared1:

Anna, will call you this morning!

Anna and Sandi - haven't had time to write or call anyone - feeling a little cut off.

Let me know if anyone is coming down or up for the candlelight processional?

Ken are you guys coming down? Susie, are you coming up?

The Lights are on!!!!!!

Beautiful lights! I am jealous. We always seem too busy to fit lights in!

Anna, I so CAN teach you to knit. I have researched this for someone else and actually discovered that I just teach you to knit as if you were right handed. Knitting is awkward in the beginning anyway, so as you become more experienced, you will adjust the knitting (as everyone does) to make it comfortable for you.

I'll let you know closer to the cruise what you need to bring, or I can even pick stuff up for you. I have started teaching beginners to make felted purses. They are very forgiving, teach more skills than a scarf, and are actually faster to make than a scarf, AND you end up with an adorable product in the end. I taught my friend with infant twins to make this little purse and while juggling all on her plate, she was done in a week! We will have to hit the laundry room to do the shrinky dink process of felting it, but that is the best part of the process!

Oh, I am so excited to see all of you again. I have missed you.

We are actually going to WDW during the Christmas break! Yeah!

Losing 30 lbs...unfortunately it was stressed induced, but once I lost it, I decided to reduce my eating to keep it off. So far, so good! I haven't added exercise, but I know that is my needed next step. None of my clothes fit, so I told Scott that once I lose all the weight ... 20-30 more pounds, I am going to Singapore and have a nice wardrobe tailored for me, incentive to get it off and keep it off all at the same time! He just has to finance the trip, but hey! he gets a sexier, well dressed wife, right? LOL He loves Singapore, so trust me, this is not a big sacrifice for him.

   I'm warning you - I'll be a challenge!:rotfl2: , but that sounds like a neat project! I'm so glad you are going to be on the WB TA. Emily will be sad that she will not see you again though.

Great job keeping the weight off even if it was stress induced loss to begin with.:thumbsup2 . I think I found your 30 pounds since the last cruise:sad2: .. I've lost 10, but dang it is hard. I love the Singapore idea:thumbsup2 Many years ago DH told me I could go anywhere in the world if I got my goal weight - I told him I wanted to go back to the delivery room:rotfl2: . Welcome DD#3:thumbsup2 . This time he hasn't made the same promise:rotfl2: .

Thanks Anna, Scott and I just had a good giggle about the delivery room!

Don't worry. I am an amazing knitting teacher.;)

While I'm posting pictures - this is the filming of the Xmas day parade show. Zoe and I will be right up front for Jose Feliciano - ABC Xmas morning.

Loved all the pictures and glad to hear that Zoe was well. We had a great Thanksgiving and Darrell spent all of Friday night hanging lights and now we have Christmas music to be nsync with the lights. Thank God no neighbors - it was fun, but we didn't get to bed until almost 1:00. Today is an easy day - turkey and football! Deanna I would love to meet you at WDW, but my season passes are not good for Christmas - boo hoo! Enjoy yourself, have fun and hopefully it won't be too crowded. Miss everyone!

Kelly KEWL Pics, we will look for ya during the Parade.

WDW is about 6 weeks for the Goofy Challenge, will be a true test.

Got a good run in this afternoon, even with the wind and snow.

I had to pop in here and say hi to the nice DISsers to feel better:hug: I love this group.
Kelly, I love the pictures and am glad Zoe is recovering.
Sounds like most all of us had a good Thanksgiving:goodvibes

we had our first snow that stuck this evening--made the drive home from rehearsal tricky;) It is so pretty though. I hope it last until tomorrow so I can take a photo for you all. The children's show which I am directing goes up on Saturday and they are all doing sucha good job. It is really a very good little show and I am so proud of these kids:lovestruc

:thumbsup2 What Hadley said! This really is a great group of people - in person and online.

Hadley - "break a leg" with the children's show - not literally though:rotfl2: be careful with the snow!

Scott- your lights are lovely and Good luck with the Goofy:cool1: .

Sandi - sounds like your lights are wonderful.:)

Kelly - great pic's! Call me when you get a chance. When is Zoe on Christmas break?

DeAnna - I'm sure that was not where DH had in mind when he made the offer :rotfl2:. We won't make a return trip this time though. We're done in that department!:rotfl2:

Another busy day. It has been nice not having to get everyone out the door in the morning to all three schools. Sometimes I think I like the kid's school breaks more than they do:rotfl2: .

Anna

Good Morning Cruisers! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did!

We are really glad we started the Christmas lights early – the weekend conditions were not conducive to being on a ladder – windy and cold all weekend.

Beautiful sunrise this morning! Still windy though.

Have a great day!

Happy Holidays everyone!
I though I posted something here last weekend--but I must have been pretty jet lagged because I see it never posted.
Our trip to Germany was busy but successful. We have a signed contract, a lease and a school for the kids. We are moving to Eppelheim (a subarb of Heidelberg--about a 10 minute tram ride from the castle area!) in about 5-6 weeks! :cool1:
Soooo, if anyone finds that flying into Frankfort is hte best price for their 2010 cruises, I know someone who might put you up for a few days in Germany:rolleyes1
I hope you area all well and enjoying the holiday season.

YEAH Hadley! I want to wish everyone a fabulous Christmas and a wonderful New Year! We miss everyone and hopefully in 2009 we can see a lot of you either here or there!:grouphug:

Hadley - good luck to you and your family in your new life!

:santa: Merry Christmas :santa: and a Happy New Year to all!
