2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

Hey Everyone - VERY excited about the new cruise itinerary. Definitely want to do the Westbound TA and gain those hours. The Baltic cruise does look the best. I am glad to say that the rude woman I met at Beach Club on Saturday night and told me that there will NOT be another TA and NOT to get my hopes up and she knows someone very high up that gives her the scoop is 100% wrong and hope she thought of me as I told her exactly what they said today - YEAH! Thanks to all of you wonderful people that helped me get the scoop ahead of time. I am not a spiteful person, but that did make me smile! Hopefully we will get more return people on the TA Westbound. I did notice the price difference too. The Eastbound is cheaper. Have a great week everybody!!!

I am with Deb on this one. I am planning to do the Barcelona to England then the first Baltic...not sure how I am going to pay for it...but that is this weeks plan.

Any other takers for this set up?

Yeah Jason and I were a little disappointed that the cruises that back up to the crossings are both Med trips...because we REALLY wanted to do one of the baltics....BUT we didn't do the med last year....so we're down to do it this year. I think we're going to book the 9/8 10 night Med and teh crossing back from Barcelona....at least some of the ports changed so that will be nice although I'm annoyed we lose one of my beloved sea days!! LOL

Proud to say that we are one of the first to post after the BIG announcement!
All of the itineraries look really exciting. No surprise that the Transatlantic journey is of most interest to us.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Hello Everyone! We were so excited this morning to see all the new itins, so many choices. We are leaning towards the FIRST Baltic cruise. We need to do some more thinking!

These are the cruises the Scott and I would be most interested in - if it happens!

:dance3: :woohoo:

Anyone else for the First Baltic?? I wish I could do the Barcelona to Dover then first baltic. Not sure I could get that time off. I may do a bit of touring in England prior to the cruise for a day or so and see the old homestead :)

Who else is up for it???

Deb

Oh brother....you mean I'm going to have to work at making all new DIS friends for the last Med? OY! What a pain!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well at least I'll probably have Chris and Rob and Hadley and Sandi's families for the crossing (and mabye CACruisin', too??;) )

We looked at the pricing and the Med cruises are expensive....the 10 night costs more than the crossing at this point.....but it might be an opportunity we decide we can't miss (and hopefully the last Med which falls in Sept. will be one of the lower price 10-days since it's in the "off" season technically and not mid-summer)

Popping in to see what all our friends are thinking about! We are in the queue for reservations for the eastern TA (return is not viable due to work). Forewarned is forearmed re how to deal with the time difference?!? Wishful thinking, sure, but we love all the days at sea and it's a little different this time, plus who knows how we will manage to get back... last time, we added on time in Dublin and we'd love to get more time in Ireland or explore something else. LOVE the repos!!! I am totally excited about this. Jim thinks I'm bouncing off the walls.

:yay: Cupcake

p.s. I happen to know that a certain someone's spouse (HoagiePie!!) was sporting an inflatable parrot on his recent double dip! Sure, I can't hope to be Debbie in terms of setting cruise fashions, but I had to note that our cruise was the first to feature inflatable pirate accessories. I'm just waiting for it to take off like the fish extenders! :rolleyes1

Hi all! We are all excited aren't we?!?!

We are also going for the westbound TA at this point (I did not even price it--I figure we know from experience that we really DON'T know where the price will end up anyway). It is an awfully short day at Castaway Cay but I do like that we get to visit Portugal.

Scott and Lynn the basement photos went up while I was on vacation (no computers for me on vacation) so I have not told you yet how good it looks.

It is interesting to see what everyone is interested in. We are still looking at the Barcelona to Dover and then the first Baltic cruise. We will see what DVC comes up with for points for those cruises.

Basement is coming along, got the last bit of carpet installed yesterday. We have some trim to put in, some doors to stain and we will be basically done! Then we need to move into it!!!! Try to empty all those boxes being stored in the extra bedroom!

Have a great day!

Hadley - good to see you back! I am still putting stuff away from last week's cruise and dreaming about 2010. It is interesting to see what everyone is looking at. The good thing is that I can live vicariously through everyone else on the cruises I won't be on, which is a great thing. By the way Lyn, talked with Sharon last night from Calgary and she was on the 10-year anniversary cruise with you. She is not a disboarder, but she couldn't stop talking about how sweet you and Scott were to her and her family. By the way, good to see Cupcake too and cannot wait to catch up with you at WDW!!!!!!!!

I had found this comic last year and came across it again :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good one Debbie, Good one I liked it.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Hey Bob.. clean out your PM box :rolleyes1 :laundy:

It is going to be a beautiful weekend here. Just so happens that I need to go in late to the office on Tuesday :rolleyes1 So I will be on the phone and computer trying for a place on the First Baltic cruise (My TA will be on a cruise herself on Tuesday... luckily she is a good friend, so it is fine for me to do it myself)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Debbie

Hi guys, We we are going to pass on the 2010 European cruises, but are interested in the Xmas. But we are really holding out for the big 2011 cruises. I like the Baltic and repositioning from Barcelona to Dover, but most of those are during school. Since we are in a school that does not invite families back if they vacation during school we have to be very careful. 4th week of Kinder and she came home with a labeled sculpture of the human brain that they made in science, so they don't fool around there. I do know a bunch of nice folks from the PC are going to go on the Sept. TA, so I'll introduce all of you.

That is one way of keeping the kids in school considering how hard it was to get in in the first place:scared: . The Christmas cruises sound like fun. The school calendar for 2010/11 isn't out yet, but I'm guessing that other than the 12/23 7 day Wonder, the dates aren't going to line up for us. I'm not sure that DH and the kids would want to be away from home for Christmas though. I would love to do a NYE cruise someday, but I need NYE to be on Tuesday or Wednesday for the school calendar to work. That makes it what 2013/4:rolleyes1 ?

Curt and I talked about the 2010 cruises and we decided not to book it either. We might consider the Sept TA if the prices come down as low as they did last year.

We have asked our TA to book the 1st Baltic Cruise. It is very expensive but without the the cost of flights it should be OK. This time we will only have a 2 hour drive to the port.:cool1:

If anyone is at WDW at the beginning of December we would love to meet up with you.

Ann

Absolutely Ann!!!!!!!! We would love to see you - let us know when and where!

We went out to chinese for lunch today to celebrate DD's good grades (5A's and 4A's+1B). This was DH's fortune "You will soon be crossing great waters on a fun vacation." We are talking about doing the WB TA. I told him the fortune cookie says we ARE taking the trip:banana: :rotfl2: . I'm having a little trouble with 2010 qualifying as "soon", but it's all relative, right?:)

party: party: Happy Birthday to Jeanette! party: party:
(Debbie's Mom)

She thanks you!!

It is a beautiful day here in Cleveland. High was in the 80's! We went to high tea a little victorian place near by. Not Palo.... but it was still very nice. :)

We will be at WDW December 4 - 14! At 2 different resorts on three different reservations (OKW - SSR - OKW) if my wait list does not go through.

Ann when will you be there?

Deb
