2007 International Food & Wine Festival (Marketplace Booth Details Now Available!)

The room is huge! How nice would it be to be able to set your stuff down and eat your bite of food without having to trek back to the table you are saved at, wherever it is. I've been known to carry three of those little plates AND the wine glass back.

I think that was the intent of the organizers to start with...but human nature being what it is, that didn't work out.

I've heard of these - basically cocktail tables, right? I would be fine with that too if that's what others want to do. What doesn't sound fun is standing around trying to balance food and wine without a table, which I've read here some people wound up doing because even all the standing tables were 'saved.'

It seems that the intent of those type tables would be for those who like to graze and mingle, which sounds great to me - but if people 'save' these, then I suppose we have to, too. The sad thing is, if no one saved seats, there would probably always be enough seats - since a certain percentage is at the food/wine stations at any given moment. But oh well, that's how it goes...

Since you've been before, can you clue us in on approx. how many can sit and/or stand at the tables? Thanks!

This first year we went there were lots of the cocktail tables. everyone would wander around and "share tables" It was great! We had so much fun meeting people. It seems though, that as the years have passed they've added more seating - and more seating has resulted in more saving. I think last year I was one of the few to complain about too much seating. The venue is really quite large. It's very difficult to have one home base. But what bothered me was the time there were two people seated at a table for 10. We asked if we could join and they said "it's saved" As we stood there for the next 15 minutes, eating and trying to balance our wines without a table, not one of the other 8 people ever came back to the "saved" table. Of course there was a Cirque perfomance going on so there's a possibility some of this group we now eating at a stand up table, and in essence occupying two spaces. I've resolved to be much more assertive this year. I hope no one here minds, but when I want to take a break, I'm going to sit at even saved table, but offer to freely get up if the person returns.

That being said, the stand up cocktail tables are probably made for 4 people, six can squeeze, and if you had a group you could probably share among 8-10 people because there are always people going to one food station or wine station or another.

I think it would be great if Disney designated a "mingle area, no saving.

Get dialing!!!

Good luck everyone:cheer2:

My hold music is nice slow music...It's 4:00 a.m. here. I hope I don't end up falling back to sleep while I'm on hold!:surfweb:

I can't even get on hold... I am getting the "we're sorry... all circuits are busy" spiel!

Wow...that was quick...I'm off the phone already and booked our two events!

We have PFTS on 10/6 and EE-Tuscan Renaissance on 10/12! They reiterated their new strict no-refund policy to me and just said if anyone was drinking they would ask for id (don't think that'll be an issue for my teens). :rotfl:

Hope everyone got through in time to get what they wanted! Can't wait to go now! :woohoo:

Only took 3 tries--I'm on hold.
My mother is still dialing at her office and hasn't gotten through yet

Go in at 6:59 AM and got my tickets for 10/20 PFTS!! Woohoo!! No non-transferable anything was mentioned. Maybe they decided against it?

Got through and done. PFTS - Oct. 6. I swear I must have been the first call to get through. I got to the line at 6:59 through my work phone, while my cell phone was still saying the office was closed. :cool1:

Got through at 7:01, but still on hold . . . good luck, DISers!! I got routed to dining, also - hope that's not a bad sign.

Just to let those on hold know...I was put through dining as well. :) I did ask if I had dialed the right number. :rotfl2:

My CM mentioned the "non-refundable, non-transferrable & will ask for ID if you intend to drink alcohol" line and added "their being very strict this year". Probably depends on who answers your call.

I got put through to dining as well but it was quick and I've been done for almost 10 minutes now.

I got through right at 6AM - by the time I tried to book my third F&W pairing it was already sold out. The 10/15 Sushi Sake pairing was gone by 6:10 AM this morning... can you believe that?

Good luck everyone - sounds like stuff is moving really fast today.

Hmm, all my CM mentioned was the ID thing I guess it's an implied policy. They only asked for my name, not the rest of my party so how would they know if it's not transfered?

ACK!!!!!!
I finally got through but I got a CM who is insisting the events aren't available yet and who has put me on hold!
