2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Thanks Kay, How are you feeling? I hope all is well. We all ended up with colds in California, we had a hard time with the cool dry air.

I have to admit, we still have the prettiest beaches!!!!

yep, I have to agree with that.

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Good morning all. I hope every one has a great 4th.

I am at work. Trying to catch up on the two weeks off. I should get a lot done with no one else here.

Hi all,

Just finished reading. We are up for a meet Saturday night, Beach club would be great, we have never been there. Deck 10 sounds great for Saturday also.

Enjoy the fireworks.

We spent part of the day making our final plans for before and after the cruise. We're driving down so needed reservations for the first night on the road. Then we'll be staying at Boardwalk for 2 nights before heading to the ship. Instead of coming back to WDW we're going to drive to Hilton Head the day we disembark (we've never been there before). The next day we'll drive up to North Carolina to visit the race shop of Richard Childress Racing (big Dale Earnhardt fans). Next up will be a drive to TN to visit family (the young man who was our ring bearer 17 years ago and his wife are expecting their first child a week before the cruise. Finally on Sunday we'll head home. So we made our resevations for NC and TN. We also did all the new maps we'll need. We have a GPS for this trip, but we always like to do a travel book that includes maps and all our confirmations. So our book is done and we feel that the cruise is closer than ever.

Hope everyone stays safe with all the fireworks out tonight. As for me, I prefer watching mine on TV or at Disney!

PDFG and all who need it.

Mary, sounds like you have everything under control. I thought I did also until my oldest tells me he is going to a concert that last week end in October and can't come to WDW with us. He will be a senior in college next year and I wanted to squeeze in a trip with him. Oh well now the younger one wants to bring his girlfriend. I guess I have to enjoy what every happens.

I can't believe it's Friday already. The pool is still green, I was hoping for blue before the week end was here. We have a wedding to go to tomorrow. I hope it's all inside. The heat, humidity and tourists are here. I had a hard time walking last night, the humidity killed me. I skipped my pilates class I was way to sweaty.

have a great Friday every one!!!

WOW! Finally had another chance to check in here and see what's up. That's a whole lotta pages to go through!!! Nice work! Hope everybody is doing well. We had a great 4th - except for the flat tire at midnight as we were still 45 minutes from home. Oh well, sometimes life throws a few surprises at you...

Next week we're making a trip very similar to Joannel's!! Too funny... it's a small world after all. Seeing relatives in Arizona, seeing the Grand Canyon, going to Sacramento for more relatives and then back toward home via Monterey. Looking forward to it. Hope it cools down some, though. And I hope the tires hold up this time. ;)

Good luck to everyone getting their ressies in later this month. :dance3:

Mary - you'll love the GPS - my new Nissan Murano has one and I love it. When Harry and I traveled and had to rent a car, we always asked for one with a GPS in it. It takes you right up to where you want to go. If there are any other cars in my future, it will surely have a GPS -

Funny thing - when my family came down for Harry's funeral, the guys had to go certain places and I would put the address in the GPS and they loved it so much, they went all over Ft. Lauderdale and never got lost. They would talk back to the lady and say "thank you". It was so funny - one of those things you had to be there :rotfl2:

I just booked another Disney cruise for August 23rd. I just couldn't help myself. I need help!!!!!

Kay are you sure you just aren't going to book yourself on the Wonder from now until we sail in October? :lmao: We know that if anyone has any questions you'll be able to find out the answer first hand on the ship. Speaking of which maybe you can find out which Captain and Cruise Director we are going to have.

geez, you have me laughing.

I'll find out who the captain is and which cruise director. not a problem.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I want to go this month also, but can't find anyone to go with me. Can you imagine that !!

Actually, my nurse was going with me but they put her in a job in the office and it is hard for her to take off now. Before she could take off for periods and tell them not to book her for home patients.

First time cruiser, first time posting on a message board. Hope this works. We'll be on deck 7, probably driving down from SC that morning.

Just trying to work my way through these 64 pages.

We've been DVC members (OKW) since very beginning (when tickets came with your reservation). First time doing anything Disney w/o kids. Well, not quite true, we've spent a couple of weekends at HH. Hope old people allowed to have fun too.

Welcome to the DIS, the DCL forums and the cruise meets thread for the DVC Member Cruise.

Great to see new people joining us.

In the first post you will find how you can contact me to get added to the Member Gallery on our web page.

If you have any questions ask away as we have a number of experienced cruisers who will be happy to help.

Welcome Russ and Susan

Just a note to let you know that my family lives in Columbia and W. Columbia and Lugoof and Columbia is my birthplace, as is all my sisters and brother !!!! Small world

My brother now lives in Lake Murray, as he had a house built there a few years back. Absolutely beautiful place.

It would not surprise me if you knew my family - We are old too -- :lmao:

We'll have to talk soon

Like Mary said, read page 1 and send in your pic for the Gallery.

Hi everyone, hope everyone had a nice 4th.

What is the 90 day out for making ressies for Palo? I am feeling a bit lazy and tired to do the math and I don't want to read through 64 pages.

Thanks for the info.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for the info. I guess I better get my stuff ready, we'll be getting back from the beach so hopefully I will be awake to make those ressies. Have a great week everyone.

We sail in 15 weeks!

I can't believe how close we are getting! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

15 weeks, we are finally getting somewhere.

Welcome aboard Russ & Susan. We took our first kidless cruise last year on the Magic. We still had a blast. I missed the kids(both in college.) but it was fun. Not as hectic, since I only had to worry about packing for 2 and not 4.

Kay, have a great time, I wish we lived closer and could go more often.

Have a great Sunday, still working on the green pool, it's almost there, but the weekend is almost over:confused3

Trishy have fun, I love CA. The Grand Canyon is beautiful. Gas prices are Crazy out there. We paid 3.89 on I 40.

What is every one signing up for? I don't want to miss any of the special stuff that goes on. For you that have done hte member cruise before- should we do Palo for brunch & dinner, if so what night is best for dinner? Do they do any different night time shows or are they the same as the magic? Is there a desset buffet one night?

Thanks for your help!!!
