We had a beautiful day in Chicagoland yesterday! Warm and sunny. Got me in the mood to go cruising, but we have to wait until October.

Good morning Joan
If the weather doesn't get any better joan I think Nanc and I will move to where its warmer. This morning same old same old wet and cloudy about 50. I hope our middle son and I can go fishing tomorrow we have been waiting for weeks. Had a great weekend the whole famiely came over last night we had cake and ice cream to celebrate my 64th. I sure dont feel like 64 I feel great intend to stay that way. Next weekend Nancy and I are heading for Bar Harbor for a get away weeked to celebrate 40 years together. it doesn't seem like it. May 5th 1967. how time flies.
Before I forget Joan you guys are staying at the Beach Club before the Crusie ? We will be staying at OLD KEY WEST ariving two days before and staying four days after the Cruise.

Well, happy birthday & happy anniv. Congrats on the 40th. We have been to bar Harbor. Very pretty place.

We are staying at Saratoga Springs the night before, and the beach club after. This will be our first at the DVC resorts.

I will cross my fingers for nice weather for you, good luck fishing.

We are having beautiful weather. The boys and their girlfriends spent all day yeaterday in the pool. It is nice to have them home, but my house looks like 50 people are living there. Oh well. I really enjoy having all the kids at my house.

I hope the four of us and others will meet each other in OCT. Two years ago they had a Pre Cruise get together at Pleasure Island where everybody got to meet. I hope they do that this year.

Even if DVC doesn't have a get together we still can if we all want. We did it last year at the Solarium in the Beach Club. The sign is ours and has been to a number of DIS meets over the years. The cupcakes were brought by a local member to celebrate the upcoming marriage of a DIS couple (they got married the Saturday after the cruise). The Solarium worked great because it had plenty of room, lots of seats, and we didn't have to worry about weather (in 2005 the end of our meet got rained on).

So if the group wants to get together the day before the cruise we could easily do it.

I called in to MS last week to get a quick last minute trip for June 6-9. When ADR's were hard to come by the MS mentioned going ahead and getting my pre-cruise Oct ADR's done. So we looked around. When it came time to do Saturday nights I mentioned that I didn't know how early to book because I wasn't sure what pre-cruise festivities would be going on with my "on-line" friends. The CM mentioned that she did think that Disney had something in the works but couldn't tell me what time at night. But definitely Saturday night. We ended up leaving Sat night open and booking Le Cellier for Friday night.

Interesting. Well since DIS meets tend to be very informal we can always change accordingly. For example in 2005 they had a Bon Voyage party for us all at Pleasure Island. We had the DIS meet start 1 hour before that in an open area by Fultons. That way all the DISers could meet and then still enjoy the party. We ended up breaking into little DIS groups to enjoy everything.

Hopefully if DVC does have something planned they will let everyone know soon so they can make their other dining reservations etc. That was the one big thing I think they dropped the ball on last year. Communication on what was happening wasn't very timely.

What is the cancellation policy on the restaurants? If I make a dinner reservation and then DVC plans a party can I cancel?

Hi,
We havent posted for a while.
The weather has been beautiful all of April in London,England with temperatures in the high 60's low 70's every day,and the sun shining.It has only rained once .Apparantely the warmest April since records began 350 years ago.
If this is global warming ,we would love more of it in the UK.

We have booked our next trip to WDW in Feb 2008.We will also be going to Washington around 4th July 2008 as my sons Marching band are coming over to the USA,and they may play at Epcot as well.

As mentioned early in this thread we are staying at OKW before the cruise for quite a few days and are happy to meet up with anyone.

That is just too cool. They look like the guards. I have only been to England once years ago when we were stationed in Germany. I loved it. All the royalty. The tower of London was our favorite. We spent an entire day in the town where Windsor Castle was.

My house is full of vacationing college kids. They are off canoeing today. They are eating me out ouf house & home. But it's nice to have them home. It's such a mess I told them no adults were allowed inside. We do have to get it cleaned up before Mother's Day and my mother comes over.

Thanks Joanne! That's the whole point behind the website. So we can all get to know each other before the cruise. Same with the buttons. It is a way to identify fellow DISers. It has worked well on all 3 member cruises we have been on and a number of other cruises as well.

Small world story - we had a DIS meet back during Member Homecoming in 2004. Two couples were there who had never met but found out they lived about a mile from each other. I love when things like that happen.

Just wanted to say HI to everyone. Thank you for posting our pictures and info on the Member Gallery. It was such fun to find it there--it made the cruise seem so much more real even though it's still several months away. This will be DD's first cruise and she is VERY excited! DH and I were on the Member Cruise last year and had a wonderful time! We're really happy to be cruising with our DVC friends again! We'll be staying at OKW the evening before the cruise and then returning to OKW for a week afterwards.

We are staying at OKW before the cruise. We are staying the night after at SSR.

Is their going to be any kind of Van or Bus sharing going on to and from the Cruise? We will be interested in possibly doing this, I am trying to figure out if we should use the Disney bus or not.
