2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Thanks for the reminder on travel insurance. Need to look into that as we haven't booked any yet. We usually just go with the company DVC sends us. Guess I'll do some searching this weekend.

If anyone else has recommendations I'd love to hear them too.

Hello everyone. I have been reading the boards for a couple of years now and have just started to post on them.

I will be on the member cruise in October this year and I added the picture to my signature. (Thank you for sharing!!!)

I love reading these boards and I am so excited to read more about the member cruise as this will be my first cruise ever.

Looking forward to all of the disney talk....it passes the time between visits!!!

Welcome Disney25.

Twenty six weeks and counting. It will go so fast. It feels like my kids just left for college and they will be home this week. WOW summer is here. It sure isn't warm enough. Went to the beach yesterday but it was a little chilly. Going to try again today.

Does anyone have a quess as to how soon we could get back after the cruise to the BCV on the Cruise Shuttle? We were thinking of making dining reservations in Epcot, but don't know the times we will be able to make it.
(These weeks are going toooooo slooowwww)

It takes about one hour from the ship back to Disney World.

Are you planning a lunch reservation? You should be fine. If you are trying to make a breakfast/brunch reservation you might be cutting it too close.

The ride itself takes around an hour (depending on traffic). I know we've made it back to MCO around 9:30-10:00. I think you should be at Beach Club no later than 10:30 or so. Some of it is going to depend how fast you can get off the ship, how they load the bus, and what other stops they have.

Also Don't forget that if there is inclement weather, the ship may need to dock down at fort lauderdale and you will be bussed from there.

Did you guys see the post on the main cruise forum that DCL is now saying you can't use door signs. How very sad. In fact the last two DVC cruises DVC used door magnets. In 2005 every room had a life preserver magnet that said Welcome Home Members and in 2006 there was a magnetic white board and pen on every door.

I guess some people must have gone overboard and used things like tape a glue that damaged the door.

Bummer, I had some maid by KristineN. She is very good at this. I have no creative ability so this was going to be a first. I hope the magnets are still allowed. I loved seeing everyones doors.

We sure do Joanne. Regina has now confirmed with DCL that it is ok for magnetic signs. It is glue and tape that is not allowed.

So now that we know we can make magnetic signs again who is going to do some? We've done them for our cruises and will for this one too. I love seeing them on everyone's door. You get the see a bit of the personality and you get to see where your fellow DISers are staying.

You need to move south. We had a great day here. Both boys came home from College yesterday- well I had to go pick one up. We spent the day in Seaside, riding bikes and playing on the beach. Even if they each had girlfriends along, it's been a long time since we had a family day on the beach.
