2007 Condo Association Meeting - Dec 4

Apologies if this has already been posted and I didn't spot it. According to this announcement on the members' website, there will be one combined Condo Association Meeting in 2007. It will be held on Dec 4th, time and place TBD.


2007 Condominium Association Meeting
To serve the Member community more efficiently, Disney Vacation Club is creating a single condominium association meeting in 2007 for all Disney Vacation Club Resorts.

With the continued growth in the number of Disney Vacation Club Resorts and the growing number of Members with Ownership Interests at multiple Resorts, this single meeting will make the most efficient use of time and resources.

This year's meeting will take place on Dec. 4 at the Walt Disney World® Resort (time and meeting-room location to be determined). Continue to check www.dvcmember.com for more details.

First I've heard the news - thanks Lisa.

Got a little chuckle out of the phrase "To serve the Member community more efficiently." It would surprise me if more than a very few members went to more than one meeting on a regular basis. I think the one meeting is to make things easier for the powers that be, LOL.

They're going to need a bigger room than they've been having them in though!

Actually consider a lot of us seem to own in MORE then one resort this seems very reasonable to me. (And there are members on here who went to more then one meeting! Me I have skipped them all)

In today's technology-driven environment, wouldn't it be nice if the meeting was webcast over the member's website?

The technology and network are already there to provide a multicast voice/video stream...

Yes, that would be a great idea! I saw the note for the one meeting yesterday over at the membersite too. I guess it makes sense, wonder just how many members own 2+ resorts.

We have only been able to get to one of the meetings over our 10 years as members. I was sorely disappointed in it. It's just so much rhetoric, and they don't really listen to what the members have to say at those meetings. I was hoping it would be late in November again this year, because I missed it by a day last year. Looks like they decided to make it too late for me this year.

I've gone twice and I agree that it's not as great as you think it would be. The first part is formal legal stuff. Then they do a presentation and then they open the floor for questions. Their answers are pretty much canned, neither time did I see anyone really challenge them.

I'll be there then, I may attend depending on the location and time. It's questionable if it's worth taking time out of vacation.
