My DD's team got an at large bid to World's:cool1: They were excited.
They placed 5th in the sm sr level 5 all girls. Next nationals in Atlanta in 2 weeks.

Good luck in Atlanta to all of you guys that are going!!! That should be a VERY exciting weekend!!!!!:thumbsup2

DD's team just received a paid bid to Worlds!!! Yeah!! A free trip (for her anyways). i already booked OKW for that weekend!!! Disney, here we come!!

Yeah, Rosemary! That's great! We stayed to watch Celebrity Sat night and I wondered which one of the girls hobbling around out there was your daughter ;) Congrats on a great weekend! We on-the-other hand had an awful weekend  My daughter's team always hits...always! I mean even in practice you never see a stunt wobble. On Sat we had a basket toss hit the ground...I mean the whole stunt group in a heap on the floor! Then our last tumbling pass tripped and landed smack on her butt after her round-off...then we had a stunt fall and finally to top it off our pyramid was a hot mess! Ugh! The girls were horrified as was I LOL...it was like driving by a really bad car accident where you know you shouldn't look but do anyway. I honestly watched with my hands over my face! Ugh...they rallied on Sunday and were much better but still not perfect. They managed the top score on day 2 but it wasn't enough to make up for Day 1 and they ended up in 4th place. I just keep telling my daughter you can't appreciate success without failure! On to the next comp LOL!

Congratulations..............see you in Atlanta and Disney!!!!! The Sm Sr division is tough!!!! All teams are just so talented. I wouldn't want to judge it!!!

Sorry to hear about your DD's disappointing day 1!!! I always say to my DD that it can be anyone's 2.5 minutes (or 60 minutes in the NFL:mad: )!!

My DD was the dirty blond/light brown haired walking around without crutches but with the "Brady Boot" (although she had it first!!!!) in her Celebrity uniform (the white one with blue/black cut out sleeve). Her teammate on crutches blew out her ACL and MCL the week before!! I hate that there are so many injuries (although my DD's can be blamed on breaking in those darn sneakers............)

Not quite sure what is on the agenda for us after Cheersport Atlanta. I think there is a COA in March which is somewhat local and WSF Boston beginning of April then Worlds!!! Hopefully our paths will cross and all will be healthy!!

DD start PT tomorrow and is hoping to be back in action (semi action) for Atlanta!!! My fingers are crossed but I will NOT allow her to go before I feel she is ready and with the blessing of the medical professionals caring for her!!! REgardless of what she says!!!! Cheering is wonderful but it won't be wonderful when you are bothered by your cheer injuries later in life!!!! Right now she just doesn't think like that............ahhhhh the joys of being 16!!!

Congratulations polkadotminnie on a great weekend. I hope your teams do well at Cheersport. This will be our first cheersport in Atlanta. My DD was with another gym that usually went to NCA Dallas. I am looking forward to Atlanta. Looks like a very large competiton!!! I am not sure which arena DD is in but it was on one of the last pages of the schedule!!! She cheers for Celebrity Cheer NH. I don't quite know how many teams are going but I am guessing at least 10. If you have a chance to see their Youth 5 they will knock your socks off!! Such young, cute talented girls!!!

Good luck.............

Are you the coed team that goes on at 7:17 in Arena F?
If I am still there that late, I will come cheer for ya'll. I don't know if my 5 year old will be able to last that late though. We are in that arena at 11:03.

I do believe that is her team. She goes on last on Day 1 and First on Day 2!!
Maybe I can take a walk over to the arena to see your DD perform!!! I know my DD will still be sleeping!! LOL!!

We just returned from PT and I really don't think DD will be taking the floor in Atlanta!!! :sad1: But, on the brighter side, she should be ready to compete end of February/beginning of March. She was told to take it slow so she can go full out for Worlds!!! I just ordered her an ankle support that came recommended from the PT. Hopefully this will give her support so she can completely take off the 'Brady Boot'!!!

Good luck...........

I know she will be disappointed but she needs to fully recover. I bet she will be glad to move to just the ankle support.

My DD was just diagnosed with the flu:sick: . She is out of school and practice until next week. I am just glad it was not next week. She has luckily not exposed the team, but it is rampant here. I got the last Tamiflu at the pharmacy today. She had the flu shot but it is only lessening the symptoms.:sad2:

If you do see our team compete, my DD starts in the front left corner when looking at the stage. She is the middle girl doing the front walkover to start.

Yeah, we've heard the rumor about us, Dreamquest, Force and Legends merging into a mega-gym. The funny thing is that our owners have told us repeatedly that Edge has not committed to anything. The offer was made and they've listened to Pat's ideas but they have told us it isn't happening. So who knows!

There are all kinds of crazy things going around about our gym right now. It's almost kind of funny to hear how things have morphed. Gotta love cheer drama!

Looks like its a go for the merge. We had our meeting yesterday but Legends wouldn't relocate. I am excited because the new gym is walking distance from my house instead of the 20 miles each way it was. Have you been told yet?

How many here are going to Cheersport Nationals in Atlanta? Please post your team name and division. Good luck to all!:cheer2:

My DD is Tumblebeez large youth level 2- Arena F at 11:03.

Did you all hear about this?

And here is their initial response to getting caught cheating:

Posted on website

The USASF is the governing body of All Star Cheerleading. They issue age guidelines to follow. We have learned over the years that most gyms
follow these guidelines "roughly", not "exactly"(much like speeding, however, there is a difference between going 105 in a 35 & going 70 in a 65).
We follow these guidelines "roughly" as well. There is no process set in place to regulate registration and confirm that every athlete is registered
correctly by age. Until such a process is set in place to eliminate ALL of the "rough" registration ACROSS THE BOARD, it will continue to be an
issue for everyone involved in this sport.

We had a very successful day at JamFest in Raleigh. As a result, an envious program formed a sort of "task force" dedicated to gathering
personal information on as many of our kids as possible. They then guessed or decided own their own what teams these kids were competing on
and contacted numerous other programs that were attending the upcoming Sweetheart Classic, as well as, the company hosting the event, Spirit
Xpress/All Star Challenge. We received a heads up about the ambush the week of the event from Spirit Xpress/All Star Challenge. This is how
we know who was going above and beyond to cause our program distress. We shifted one team from Youth to Juniors, and this alone eliminated
about half of our "roughly" registered kids. After looking at all the DOB's and forms we had less than 10 out of 130 kids who were "roughly"
registered. Everyone else in our program is registered strictly by USASF age guidelines. Because this envious program had contacted so many
of the programs and provided them A LOT of false information, and very little true information, Spirit Xpress/All Star Challenge felt a lot of
pressure to call us out for our "rough" registration. Instead of sorting it out on a case by case basis, providing proof, and allowing us to dispute
the false information, they decided to take the easy road and disqualify the entire program of 8 teams, instead of only penalizing us for the
admitted two "roughly" registered athletes that took the floor at the Sweetheart Classic. Spirit Xpress/All Star Challenge admitted to us that they
are not naive to the fact that other gyms at the Sweetheart Classic had "roughly" registered kids, and encouraged us to gather personal
information on them as well.

Plain and simple... We got caught "speeding". We were targeted by an envious program and they succeeded in ruining the Sweetheart Classic
for our program. Spirit Xpress/All Star Challenge knew this was their intension, and allowed them to ruin this event for us. In addition, many
programs have been disqualified for violations but the company did not choose to post a press release on their website.

Now What:
Obviously we will no longer register kids "roughly" were they belong, but "exactly" where they belong according to USASF guidelines. We will not
attend the March event with Spirit Xpress/All Star Challenge. We have contacted all the other Cheerleading Companies that we use, and they do
not agree with how Spirit Xpress/All Star Challenge handled this situation and welcome Spirit Xtreme with open arms to all events!

If you have further questions or concerns on this please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

I have been following it on the Pro x boards. I am glad they were punished.

Bren...was your dd's team the one with the sailor theme?

I saw them on day 1 last weekend ( at least I think it was day 1..it all blends together after a while) the were adorable. Loved the pirates of the carribean song. There uniforms were great!!!!

Ack! If you saw them day 1 they were a mess :scared1: ! They were better on day 2 but still not up to par with how they usually perform. They were so disappointed! They outscored everyone on day 2 with a 7.21 and that was with a couple bobbles.

They had a girl quit the week before Athletic andhad to replace her...her replacement is doing awesome but I think we all underestimated how much the change would affect them :(

Maybe it was day 2. I don't remember any big falls. I don't know about you, but after sitting at a comp for 8hrs, all of the teams seem to jumble together! I just noticed your dd's team because I remembered you mentioning them on here!
