I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago. I was told that since the ship is of Bahamas registry, that you are in effect "in the Bahamas" the whole time you are sailing.

That's what we did. To tell you the truth, I think I've done it differently every time we've gone. I don't recall them looking very closely at these forms, past maybe being signed.

Just checked weather.com and the current track of TD5 has it over Jamaica by Sunday, so hopefully it will be out of our way by next weekend. I haven't been to castaway cay so I'm going to be SO disappointed if we miss it. Other than that, I would've preferred a western itinerary- I just booked this one for the dates since to me the ship is destination enough. DH and I have been to St. Thomas and St. Martaan though, so something different would be nice.

Although I can see the idea of getting an extra couple of days sounds cool- we could just as easily end up on the flip side with only 5 days and no CC, so I think I'll stick to hoping for a clear tropical update (weather channel at :50 min past the hour for those landlocked souls who don't have to live and breathe the tropical reports this time of year )

I guess this is why the rates are so much lower this time of year...the worry!

Defeniately don't want to be on a shortened cruise again, though we knew when we booked this trip what the risks were. That's why we have travel insurance and booked our air through DCL.

I'm hoping this thing just fizzles out at best and at worse stays to the west of FL, giving us no trouble getting there and out to sea.

It happened to us two years ago thanks to Jeanne. I do feel sorry for the 5 day people after us, but I loved my 9 day cruise.

We were on one of the the short cruises. Atleast part of us were. Half of our group could not get there because of the storm. Disney did refund 1/2 of our money and gave us 25% off a future cruise. We used that for our West coast cruise last summer. The lost of those days paid off in the end, but it sure was a downer when it happened.

Our situation was similar. We were refunded 40% plus 25% vouchers. My DW and I took a 7 night cruise the following January with that, so we essetnially got 12 days for the price of 7. But I also would just as soon have an uneventful (storm wise) trip this time.

Call me crazy, but I just rented the most recent version of Poseidon. WOW! I usually fast-forward through bits & pieces of every movie I rent, every lull in action or conversation. But this one kept me wide-eyed and jaw-clenched the whole time! Sorry to state the obvious, but I would advise any first time cruisers to NOT watch this movie until after the cruise.

Weather.com says TD5, soon to be named TS Ernesto is headed in a path that will be south of the Virgin Islands, so we might get wet, but shouldn't have any cruise interruptions. I can deal with rain, as long as I'm on a cruise!

The one to watch is just coming off of the coast of Africa today. Timing wise this is actually the one that could keep us out to sea for extra days or off of CC.

I actually own Titanic and love it!

On another topic, I came up with another use for law books: Stack them up to barricade yourself in your cabin on the last morning so they can't make you leave the ship! Hey, I can dream!

Hopefully it blows apart before it even gets to the gulf, and as long as the track keeps it away from Florida, we should be good for departure. However, if it does steer east, it could cause trouble next weekend. I'm hoping for the blow apart senerio myself!

I just read about that one, lets hope it follow's Debby's path and stays well away from our side of the world.

This is why I "vowed" after the last hurricane cruise not to book at this time, but we couldn't argue with the price. I know we'll have a great time no matter what, I just hate the nail biting before hand watching these stupid storms.
