As I am sure everyone is well aware, the UM/FSU game will be on Monday night (Labor Day), as we are well on our way to St. Maarten. Any interest out there? It will be on ABC - I assume that the game will be shown somewhere on the ship, so I will find it and will be there with some sort of libation as the Seminoles get their annual whooping! Anyone else going to be following this with me? :drinking1

I might be game. Depends on my mood after watching Kentucky-Louisville on ESPN SUNDAY night!

If its like the LAST few years, I'll be READY to drown a few sorrows...

Let's hope that we fill the halls, but right now only a few have responsed, but a party only requires a few...Really though, a party anywhere is a good party for me, we can always expand.

One idea that was floated on one thread that I saw was a wine exchange. I interpreted this to be each group brings a bottle from their area of the world. Now I have heard tell that the best bottle of wine in KY is in fact Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage. Nothing in Napa can compare from what I've heard.

I like the wine exchange idea. In Michigan we have some good cherry wines, since Traverse City, Michigan is known for cherries. Plus, one of the lawyers where I work is president of the Michigan Vintners Club, so I'm sure he would love to advise me on the best wine to take to represent Michigan. I just worry about getting it there intact! I can see me forgetting it's in my carryon bag and not being very gentle when setting the bag down. I'm very forgetful and really clumsy....not a good combination for carrying a bottle of wine! :scared1:

Just checking in it will be Me, DH, DS 11 and DD 2 1/2. We will also be traveling with another family from Mississippi. Would love to know when the meet will be. Thanks

There are two local wineries in my area, one in Kentucky, one in Tennessee. I was planning on bringing a bottle from each.

(Hmm.. that Evan Williams.. that be some STRONG wine, suh!!)

 I had no idea. Booked our first disney cruise and did a search to find a few tips. We are sailing on September 2, 2006 Eastern. I'm frantically reading and know that I will learn just about everything I need to know from this board. :confused3 Thank you.

Welcome.

I completely know what you mean. We've done WDW trips, but cruising is totally new and "unknown". I'm still feeling a bit overwhelmed, but I'm getting better. :)

If you feel like it, post who is in your group - like DS10 (dear son age 10).

Sorry - but have to ask again.

Who is dressing up for pirate night?

My DSs are getting pretty excited about it. We've just thrown their outfits together by using some great fashion "finds". However, my DH is now saying that he will "dress up", too. HOWEVER, if he's the ONLY man with a pirate vest on, I know he will never let me live it down!!!! I'm more than willing to make him a vest or something, but PLEASE tell me if there will be more than just a few kids dressed up.

Oh - THANK YOU to those who alread commented. tggrbuny - you had a couple of great comments.

Hi there! I bought red/white striped fabric and made vests for my DS (7), his friend, and my husband, and a skirt for my DD 4. i'm borrowing a pirate wench costume from a friend. So- your DH will not be the only guy in a homemade vest for pirate night. i'm just going to have him and DS wear jeans with their vests and white Ts underneath. For DD i bought a 'peasanty' style white shirt. they'll also have the bandanas they give out, or the new ones we just got from the POTC happy meals at McDs.

OK, Ok, you bring the wine, if I bring the Evan will you have a glass with us? Really just looking for the bourbon drinkers out there without letting everyone know that I am a lush!!

How many of the men on our cruise will be opting for a Tux on Formal night? I don't want to pack a suit and the rental waiting in the room seems very convenient, however I don't want to be the only fool in a tux in 90' degree weather. Ponder, ponder, ponder, what to do....

Have tux... Will travel...
So will our traveling companions. If you DO tho, prepare to be in the minority. I'd say less than 20% of those on the cruise will be this formal.

Is there ONE formal night? Seems like the last time we took a week long, there was a second one.

I'll be in a tux, bought one for our last cruise. I also use it on semi-fomal night but with "dressed down" a little. My middle son has been asking for one but unitl he stops growing, we're not doing that. I can't remember the percentage of guys in full tuxes, but who cares. I think it's fun to dress up like that on a luxury liner. You won't be out of place.

Tom will be taking and wearing his tux for both formal and semi-formal nights. That has always been a part of the magic of cruising for us. The nice thing about Disney, is that they let everyone participate at whatever level they are comfortable with. When our boys travel with us, they wear theirs as well. They love having their own tuxes and they are fairly reasonable. Usually around $70, and they look awesome when they put them on! This trip though...no kids for us. They are cruising at the end of this month with us. We all wish we could cruise every month, or at least every other month. Aahhh, to dream! :goodvibes

I am glad someone bought this up because we have been debating this all week.

On all of our past cruises dh has worn one and he looked great. More than likely he will wear the tux on this trip too. It won't be too hot for a tux?
