2006 Unofficial Guide

The 2006 edition of the Unofficial Guide to WDW is released today! Off to the book store.......

So should all larger books stores have them today? (Walden Books in particular... DH got me a gift card there for my bday, just so I could get the 2006 UG and Birnbaum's when they came out!)

The store doesn't open until 10:00, I have 7 minutes before I can call and ask them.

Woo hoo!!! Not that I plan on buying the book, but it means that 2006 is getting closer!

I love buying the books!!!! It always makes me want to plan my next trip.

It's hard for me to even believe that we won't be going in 2006 , but i'm making a big push for Late winter 2007 when my DS is on Kindergarden break and our baby is well over a year old.

Sorry you have to wait Hillbeans, I feel your pain--we left WDW from our last trip on Jan. 2, 2004, and won't be going back until late July 2006. But HEY, that means I have justification to buy this book! Woohoo!
(BTW I got the 2005 at the library-couldn't justify buying it but needed a "fix").

Has anyone seen any pre-release publicity? I'd like to know what's changed from the 2005 version before I decide whether or not to get the new one. (2005 had so much new stuff, I kinda wonder what's left for 2006.)

I had no idea, thanks for the heads up! My lasts book is dated 2003, so it's time for a new one! I knew Passporter is scheduled for a 8/15 release. I so can't wait, it'll be a 2 year space between our last trip and our next one and lots of new stuff was added at the parks!

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon last week. But I did Super-Saver shipping, so I won't have it until next week sometime. We're planning a Jan. 2006 trip...so I really wanted to wait for the new one instead of buying 2005.

OOooo, this would be a perfect birthday present for DFi. He and I plan on going there for our honeymoon. He needs to brush up on what's going on at WDW, because he hasn't gone for 15 years.

Almost the same boat here Robin. Last WDW trip was 2003, and we're going in July, 2006. I guess I have justification for buying the book too.

I asked at Barnes and Noble today and they said it was on order, didn't give a date when it would arrived. I noticed though that there were no more 2005 versions on the shelf.

I just took a walk up to Borders at lunch. (Boston: Downtown Crossing) They don't have the 2006 edition, but had a couple of 2005 left. Place was a tad busy, so I didn't bother to ask when they were expecting it...especially since I ordered mine anyway.
