Barry was a wimp. We were in MK on Friday for the EMH and with ponchos in hand, stayed until closing. We were able to walk onto everything in Fantasyland and the girls walked on and off BTMRR three times in a row with zero wait. And riding Tomorrowland Speedway in the rain is fun!

Hi Sandy, nice to see you!

It sounds like you had a great night at MK! :thumbsup2

I've always wanted to go to WDW for NYE. Check with Jeff, I think he was there this past NYE and he might have some inside tips of where to go or better yet, where to stay away from.

I know you bought points at AKV, but did you get the mailing they sent out a week or so ago? It has drawings of what the rooms look like - can't wait to see them in person.

Gail - I can tell you the model rooms were absolutely amazing. I really did not think we would add on there.... but WOW thise rooms ROCK. The rooms that will be in the Kidani VIllage have the extra bathroom right in the entry way. So a 1 bedroom has 2 bathrooms.

Congrats on more cruising Mary.

Hi Curt, how are you and Karen?

Erin, Go Cavs!

I'm not much of one for crowds so going down on NYE does not appeal to me.

I saw the AK model homes when I was there for Girls weekend this May. Oh they are fantastic!

Cindy,

We are going down to Orlando with my boss and her family. We are staying Sunday - Wednesday at Bonnett Creek and then move over to AKV Wed and Thursday nights.

Hey Lily - saw on another thread you are cruising in October - is the a 7 day?

Just a friendly reminder that if anyone is coming down and wants to meet, just post or pm and let us locals know. Jeff and Todd and myself usually will come.

We're just back from try-outs for travel soccer with Walker. 16 boys tried out, 12 will make the team. :scared: The coach was suppose to make a decision in 48 hours but decided instead that he'd rather have another try-out session. I'm not sure my nerves can handle it. :sad2: I think I'd rather have it over with now than to have to wait now, for the next try-out on Monday and then yet another 48 hours for him to make his decision.

GOOD LUCK WALKER!!!!!!!

Nick enjoys soccer but it was not his best sport this year. Baseball on the otherhand - he is quite good. I think next year he will be ready for the tourney team. Nick is too nice in soccer. He is thinking he wants to play football next fall too. That will make or break his toughness. I have told him he could try any sport he wants and after a while he will know what he likes most.

We're looking forward to staying there. My 2 previous stays at AKL were great.

I don't think we will be adding on. Oops, in case John's reading this....I know we won't be adding on :rolleyes1 but it will be really cool to stay there.

Our trip is still quite a ways away, but we'll keep you posted when the time gets closer.

Little chatty lately, Cool!

We saw the AKV model rooms in May too and were like WOW!!!
We will not be adding on cause I want a house instead but I sure as heck want to stay there now!

I will have to chat with him, and see what inside tips he has! Thanks! We did get that mailing last week with the DVD, still havent watched it, but looked at the promo mailing! They look really nice, we will be down in July, and I plan on checking out the models 1st thing in the morning when we get up!!!

This year I will be at BWV for New Year's with the family so I don't know exactly what I'll be doing that night. Last year MGM was open until 3AM with EMH, Epcot until 1AM and MK until 2AM both for anyone (no EMH). I did MGM for the Fireworks and EMH. It was very crowded but not as bad as I had expected. Sure, in front of the Sorcerer's Hat and probably up Sunset Boulevard were packed as they set up a stage and have dance music and a live band rotating 1/2 hour segements from either 8 or 9PM until Midnight. I sat on some boxes that were hiding the garbage bins just to the left of Keystone Clothiers and had a fantastic view. The walkway in front of me didn't fill up until about 5-10 minutes before Midnight and as soon as the fireworks were done the whole crowd left the park. It was a ghost town with walk-ons for everything except RnR which was going down January 2nd (I don't ride ToT so I can't comment on that one). The Osborne Spectacle of Lights had noone around about 2AM so I got great pics and video. Also, they do 3 Fantasmic shows that night, 6:30, 8:30 and 10:30.

The park hours were released today and it shows AK as the EMH. I think they will add MGM to get people away from MK and EC. MK parking lot was closed by Noon, rumor was 10:30AM and MK was closed around 2-2:30. I didn't hear anything about EC.

Jeff, I think we will do MK on the 30th for Fantasy in the Sky, and then MGM the 31st for Sorcery in the Sky. I did see the hours, and the EMH will probably nt matter for us, we will have Lauren with us, and shes only 4. I do have a question about the parks closing, if your staying on property, do they still allow you in? I know they did for the 4th of July 2 years ago, but I'm not sure how NYE works! Thanks for all the info, and if you guys are interested in hanging out let me know...:)

We will be down July 13-18...if your interested let us know! We really have no definite plans, except a few dinner ressies on Friday and Saturday! If you guys are interested I'll PM you our cell #'s!

I knew that -- now that you retold me. It sounds like fun, Erin! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Erin, I'll pass the wishes along. I'm not sure he's the caliber they are looking for either, but he's willing to try, I just hope it's not a huge disappointment.

Plan "B" is to play football in the fall if this falls through. I guess that's how the mind of a 7 year old works. Actually, he was thinking of playing football and then the idea of trying out for travel came up. I think Walker, although he's not really aggressive, understands the game and is frustrated with some of the boys on his rec team who don't put in the effort. There are a couple who would rather stand there and do nothing than even attempt to kick the ball. It's easy for me to say, sitting on the sidelines watching, but if that was my child, I'd really have to consider whether this was the best outlet for them and their energy if they truly didn't want to participate.

Go, Nick, with the baseball. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: It's a sport after Cameron's heart. Walker & baseball, well, if he could bat or catch all the time, he'd enjoy it enough to actually play. Although I was surprised last weekend when we went out with his former baseball coach and Walker asked him if he could get a slot on the team. So, maybe one of these days he'll be interested.

But....if he makes the travel team, after we lay down the money, he's going to play whether he likes it or not! Then he'll be the one standing out there watching the ball go by. :rolleyes1

On the Transatlantic crossing, DVC was offering some great incentives to buy more pts - I had a really, really hard time resisting but now maybe I get another shot at it on my "Bringing The Magic Back Home" cruise. We will have to wait and see. But I did see the models during my brief stay at SSR in between cruises and they are gorgeous!!!

Nick had 3 girls on his rec team.... one girl I called Tess the tree..... Once she was in her spot there she was... and her mom had the nerve to tell the coach she did not get enough playing time... ( he was very fair but all kids would like a shot at winning). anyways we also have 1 girl on the baseball team. I am sorry but at this age she needs to be playing softball and honing those skills. That and she stinks - another good tree. I am with you - if Nick just stood out there - I would have the coach yank him and I would make him watch the next game from the sideline and he would not play the next year. I sure as heck could find something better to do with that hour of freezing cold game time.... I was reading on the football league site and boy oh boy are they an organized group. Of course all these registrations are right now..... Diana - where is that money tree - I need a branch. :rotfl2:

Diana - where is that money tree - I need a branch. :rotfl2:

I'm sure not telling everyone on the internet where it is!! :lmao:

We didn't add on a AKV for the same reason Stacy mentioned---we need a house before we need more points! Although I have to say, the bathrooms at AKV were probably the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen in my life. So Amy, Cindy, Gail---if our next girls trip is stayed at AKV--you can have the bed and the pull out--I'll sleep in the bathtub!! :lmao:

I'm confused (no surpirse there for those who know me well). are the models at Saratoga or at Animal Kingdom? and if there are at SSR how did I miss them when we were there in March?
