Hey guys!

First of all, Lisa is VERRRRY Nice and would never do anything intentionally to hurt anyones feelings (unless they really deserved is ;))

Seriously, I think that this thread is still thought of as an active thread (Case in point, I am posting in it now) and we still keep it close to page 1. There are people from all over the world trying to find information/meet up with people that they will be cruising with.

It does make a certain amount of sense to kep the date first, Especially if people are trying to put the threads in order to more quickly find a date.

It's JMHO, but I don't think it is a bad thing to add a little organization Ala Dewey Decimal...

I can understand that some may not want to "Date Themselves", but ladies, we have all done that soooo many times on this thread.....;) ;)

:figment:

First of all, I don't think anyone here said anything negative about Lisa whatsoever. I don't know her, and I'm sure she's a great person.

Our concern was that this thread was the only thread changed in this supposed new format. I can appreciate consistency in thread naming like what was done over on the rent/trade board---but common sense would dictate that if these updates were being made, it should be made to current and future cruises as well because really people searching for threads would more likely be looking for a cruise they are booked on rather than a cruise 6 months ago. :confused3 But what do I know--all my years doing actuarial work would teach me nothing about being consistent and having data organized. :rolleyes2

I'm led to believe myself this is more of a game.

well more disconcerting to me than the change of thread name is that when I get an email notification of a new post and click on it, it takes me to somewhere in the middle of this thread like page 2000 when we are on 2021 or so. I didn't used to do that but now it does for some crazy reason. Go figure. While having 2006 FOUR times in our thread name is well just ridiculous, I think there are more important/interesting and fun things we can chat about.

Apparently there are some problems as my original post was just wiped out.

David, in no way was I attacking Lisa. I just questioned why she would be the one to make the change to our thread title. I don't even know Lisa, therefore, far be it for me to pass judgement on her.

As for the title, I did PM Lisa and received a response that she made the change to make it easier for people to use the search feature. Okay, whatever, but to me it looks silly having the date repeat over and over and over again.

As for changing the title, if it's going to be changed, to me, it should say something related to the cruise, not just the date. We have a lot of history in this thread and there are people who only come here occassionally yet I still like to see what's going on in their lives. So, I'd hate for them to not be able to find "us" when they are ready to post.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE.........

I could not find our thread because the name changed. What is up!
I always scroll down and look for 2006 to start our thread.

So now someone can come in and change the title of anyones thread? If I start a thread and "JOE" decides my thread title should be something different they can just change it. :confused3

My family has personally made some very great friends because of this thread. I will be watching for the lock on the door soon.

We as humans are creatures of habit. Mine is to look for 2006 DVC Member Cruise....... I am not getting that warm fuzzy feeling here..... I see inconsistancy in that which is to be consistant.

UMMMM will they be changing everyones? The 2007 DVC thread is still the same and untouched!!!

Sorry for the ramble I am off my box... I am going to the mall to pick up Peter Pan......

Chat with ya later.

Hey Gang! I/we haven't been around much of late, but we're still thinking of our friends, and hope that all is well with everybody. :flower3:

Nick - Buddy, you rock! You'll knock 'em dead next year in the Bee! :thumbsup2

Amy - Okay. I know that your girls are adorable, but being that cute should be illegal. And Julie's right: Madison looks just like you! :cutie:

Brooke & Jessica - You guys rock, too! Next stop: Olympics! Just remember the little people, okay?? :cheer2:

I'm sure that I'm forgetting many important points... Please forgive me if I've left something "big" out. They say that the mind is the first to go...:sad2:

Okay, I have a few questions for DCL experts. My sister has been rewarded at work with a family trip to WDW, along with a three night cruise (Snot). She's never cruised before, so I've been filling her in on everything. She came up with a couple of questions that I can't answer, though :confused3 :

1) The fold down bunks in the staterooms: What are the weight limits on those buggers? Her kids are 15 year old hulking twin boys. "Diminutive" is not a word used to describe them. :rolleyes1

2) Are there smoking areas somewhere on the ship? If so, where? They'll have a verandah room (Bigger Snot), but I'm assuming that those are off limits for smoking. :smokin:

3) She's interested in the Dolphin Encounter excursion on Nassau. Is it any good? Worth the price? :confused3

My (rotten) sister and I thank you in advance for any information! :)

BTW: My sister and I are very close. She works hard at her job, and absolutely deserves this trip. I'm just extremely envious of her.

Bunk Bed - I have gotten up there with DD when she when she was about 8. Held us both. Feels a little claustrophobic on the top bunk because you are so close to the ceiling. I would say as long as they are 250 pounds and under there should be no problem.

Smoking - I know I have walked through smokers in the adult pool area around cove cafe.

Dolphin Encounter - Myself, DD aged 7, DD's friend aged 11 or 12 at the time all did this together. Worth the money! I would do it again. My Mom and my friend did the swim with the dolphins and they both REALLY enjoyed that as well. My Mom said she would pay to do the swim again. I would recommend either the encounter or the swim.

Is is baseball season? See you soon!:rolleyes1

I know that Cameron slept up there no problem in October. And, we were just at the doctor and believe it or not, he's 5'4" (that's about 3" taller than me  :sad1: ) and 154#. I'm not sure just how much "hulkier" your nephews are but I know Cameron had no problems up there.

What a cool thing for your sister to win! :cheer2:

Morning everyone! Missing all the chatter here so I thought I would chime in. Actually I need to vent and tell you why I will be running away from home soon!

It's been a very busy time for me, as always. I had a grueling day yesterday with everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Started the day with kid #3 calling and telling me he had to bring his car in for service and needed a car to work all day so could he borrow mine. Being the sap that I am, I said ok. Now, how to get to my haircut which is the only time I took for myself lately.

So I call kid #1 who needs to get the house packed as they are hoping to be moved out over the weekend (not going to happen) and be settled in the new house in Plymouth. I go over there and try to help pack when darling lil' Christopher finds some cupboard doors not locked and wallops himself just below the eye with the door - needless to say - the grandchild is now sporting a black eye - his very first and on my watch! Now I knew why the packing was not nearly done! So, his mom comes in from outside where she was shoveling and dad comes out of his office to check why the baby is crying so hard. Do I feel like a horrible person!!!
We ice it for a while with a big struggle from Christopher as he wants no part of something cold on his face. Then he settles down for a bit, back to playing and getting very tired - he naps. So, back to packing and I ask to steal the car so I can get my haircut. A little me time was really nice.

Back from the haircut and Christopher is once again a bundle of energy so I am asked to take him home so the can get to packing and take more boxes over to the new house. So, for most of the day I am running after a lil' guy who has way more energy than I could ever have. Don't know how I did this when I had 3 kids!

Later in the day, kid #3 calls saying his car is done and he needs to pick it up. I get smart (finally) and say his dad will go with him and decide that Christopher and I are going to take a nap. They go and get the car which is not anywhere near fixed and he calls me in a panic because his father left without making sure his car was running right.
Can you picture me pulling my hair out now! His dad comes home only to find me sending him back out to the dealership. I'm trying to feed Christopher and in a very short amount of time - I think it was 3 minutes, the phones have rang at least 5 times.
One of those calls was from kid #2 who asked if I knew that his brother was having problems with his car.

Now I'm ready to scream but I don't since I don't want to scare Christopher.
The day eventually ended with me giving up my car once again. Christopher's mom and dad moving more boxes to their new home and finding furniture for their family room in the new house. And me calling kid #2 and telling him that it was a stressful day and thank him for not needing my attention.

I sometimes think that days like this are why I want to live at WDW! Boy, am I ever earning my time off for the month of May when I cruise twice!!!!!

Oh Mary :grouphug: Sorry to hear you had such a bad day. May will be here before you know it!

Exactly what I have been doing for some time, Mary! It keeps my email box from filling up so fast!

So sorry you had such a rough day yesterday.

I hope today was much better for you!

Oh Mary :grouphug: Sorry to hear you had such a bad day. May will be here before you know it!
Oh no!!!! Please don't say that. We're no where near ready for May and an addition to the family. In fact NOTHING has been done to prepare and we're down to 10 weeks or less! :scared1:

::yes:: Yup, me too. In fact I have it set in my profile for no email notification. I just use my UserCP whenever I log onto the DIS - that's what I have bookmarked, not the main forum menu.

Robin...are you due in May? It's a great time of year to have a baby. I had two in May....on the same day! At least you're only having one!

Ok I'm tired just from reading about your day!!
Hopefully you had a much better day today!

Mary, I think you shouldn't wait until May to get away;) It's supposed to get nice down here by the end of the month-lots of good sightseeing around here:)
