It really doesn't matter to me, either way. The advantage to the every 6 weeks is that you may have 2 CJs at a time, but once you get started scrapbooking, it usually goes quickly. You will still only have 3 weeks to get both of them out, you just get a break after that for 3 weeks before getting another set. Oh, and you would probably save on postage.

Let me know what you think.

The way you are describing here sounds best for everyone, cheaper postage, a 3 week break in between. If you ask me, doing 2 at a time is easier than doing 1 every 3 weeks because 8x8 pages are easy to do and once you get in a groove it's easier to keep going than it is to do one and then start up again in a few weeks.

Amy - have you set up a schedule for the circle journals yet? When are you looking at sending out the first round? I need to get working on mine. Do we have a final list of who is participating so I know how many pages to put in the book?

Thanks!
I was just going to ask the same thing. I need to make sure I have enough pages and space for sign-ins. I've got a start on mine, but it's nowhere near ready to pass on to the next person yet.

Oops, guess I should have read further before posting this.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Jacqui has offered to sell me the 6 points. This is a huge relief and now we can go to the first pirate and princesses party. Thank you so much.

Glad it worked out for you. Isn't it wonderful to be able to work with someone you know?

Is this a gymnastics trip or a relaxing trip for you?

I know your heading to Chicago sometime, is that February?

I have not yet made the schedule, but that is on my list of to-dos. I will tell you that the first mailing won't be until probably the 2nd week in January, to give people the chance to get their CJs done with the holidays coming up.

Also, I would like a consensus on how people would like to stay connected for this CJ. I could create a yahoo group for everyone and we can post there of any going ons for the CJ. We could also just continue to post here, I just don't want to bother anyone that didn't sign up (except I do think that most have signed up). Or, we could send PMs, the only problem with that is that you can only send them to 5 people at a time and you can never tell who was on the distribution list.

Let me know what you guys think.

My only concern with a yahoo group is will people check it? We tried that for our daycare group a couple years back and it was a huge flop because no one went there to check for information.

Well, I belong to a couple of Yahoo groups and you can set up your membership a couple of different ways. You can choose to only get your messages on the Yahoo group site. You can choose to get a digest form sent to your email that has 20-25 messages in it. Or, you can choose to have emails sent to you when someone posts a message on the site.

With most of my groups, I have the individual messages sent to my email, then I can always see the most recent messages. If it's a particularly chatty group, I might put them in digest form. But, either way, I get the emails sent to me so that I'm always in touch. Then, I don't have to go to the Yahoo site to send a message, I just respond to one in my email or create a new one using the yahoo group's email address.

Anyway, I'll go with what everyone wants to do.

Julie - those are the most beautiful pictures!! What a lovely wedding!!!

It is so nice that it is someone that I can trust.

This is a gymnastics trip. We are flying in on Wednesday and leaving on Tuesday now. The girls compete on Sat at 8 am.

We will be in Chicago Feb 10. The girls compete at 12:30. I really like that time.

How is Walker doing today????

Julie - love the pictures from the wedding. Thanks for sharing.

As for the circle journals. I like the idea of 2 books every three weeks. We did a lot of doubling up this last time and it is just as easy to do 4 pages as 2. Plus that way we'll get done sooner.

I still belong to a couple of yahoo groups. Don't go to them as much any more but they aren't hard to get around. Another suggestion - couldn't we start a thread over on the scrapbook forum here on the DIS?

Ian had his birthday party Sunday, at Little Gym, which was a great success. I think in all there were 22 kids there, ranging in age from 1 to 11 years old. (And that doesn't include the 6week old baby.

) Ian had a great time, well until he saw his grandmother leaving. She'd parked right in front of the window where the kids were eating cake. When she looked back and saw him crying she came back in.

I just loved having the party somewhere besides our house. I didn't stress about cleaning before, wondering if anything would get broken, or have to clean afterwards. The staff at Little Gym took care of everything - setup, activities, cutting the cake and serving it, AND cleanup! I told David
that we may just have Ian's party there again next year, it was so easy.

Here are a few pics from Ian's party...

Robin:

Great pics! Ian looks like he had a wonderful time. I remember having my kids' parties at places like that. It was much easier than at home. Give him a belated birthday hug from me.

Does anyone have any different ideas for neighbor gifts? We always buy for our surrounding neighbors from my business as they have the listen to the kids all year long, put up with the parents parking in front of their homes (as well as blocking their driveways sometimes :( ) and all the other good things that come with having a business out of my home.

We've done chocolate, fruit baskets and bakery goods in the past. I'm looking for something a little different yet my creativity is limited. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One year I did gift baskets with the shiny fake (candied looking) apples in a red and gold basket with the gold stuff that's kind of like Easter basket grass. They looked really pretty and I noticed that when I visited the next year, they had the baskets out on display with their other Christmas decorations.

Julie,

Wonderful pictures. What a great way to be able to share with everyone.
Thank you for letting us see your special day.

Please do not post the link anywhere else :) Thank you!

Absolutely stunning! Julie and Matt, the pictures were great, but the expressions on your faces said it all. I am glad you were in such a special place to celebrate the beginning of your married life. May all your tomorrows be as happy as your wedding day.
