Is that where my tax dollars go? :rotfl2: Oh, wait a minute...I don't work.

I'll never even begin to admit where all those health insurance dollars when when I worked at a local HMO.

I was a bit bored at work. I'm testing this new system/program that they will be implementing in January and at one point we had nothing to do for like and hour and a half so we chit chatted and read.....or snuck on the boards.

I don't know, but I'm going to be 37 and DH will be 39 on the cruise and I don't consider myself old. But, I'm sure a 26 yo would think that I was old. :rotfl2:

We are 37 and 39 too. This is funny that we are talking about ages today. At work one of our pts was 2 years younger than me and has 5 kids and 3 greatgrand kids. I couldn't believe it. I thought she was in her 20's. I was starting to feel old.

Member Roster Update!

Mark made the suggestion (and it is a good one) that since it has so much more than just pictures in it this year that we call it something other than the photo gallery. So from now on I'll call it the Member Roster!

We have updates from Curt & Karen, Gail & John, nanajoyx2, OKWdreamin, and Sanddune.

Also for those of you who have noticed that we have a second picture under our name - Bear. Now when you click on Bear it goes to his very own web page that tells how Bear came into our lives and why he travels with us. Old news for those who have cruised with us before but since we have so many new cruisers I thought it would be nice for you to know.

Thanks for sharing Bear's story with us again Mary! :goodvibes He really is a very special member of your family and a true reminder of what a great guy Mark is!

How can I be the first one awake this morning? Did you guys all go out for breakfast without me or something?

Just got in.My youngest had to see a doctor for autisum today.Yes he's autistic and needs more testing.I guess all next year will be more testing.

Chris, I hope for the best. I have no background with Autism but do remember you mentioning it. I didn't realize all that's involved with the diagnosis. Your in my thoughts. :goodvibes

My uncle is only 5 years older than me. I'm the second to the oldest in my family. His kids are younger than mine.

Yep, we have that in our family too. Except I'm the aunt with the kids younger than my neices and nephews.

In fact, what's really strange is that Walker is the same age as my great-neices and great-nephews.

When my neices and nephews were little, I bought for every birthday and Christmas. Somehow or another, now that they are grown, I still am buying for their children for birthdays. Somehow I feel like the movie Groundhog Day.....just keep doing the same thing over and over and over again.

Only by a couple of minutes, Diana. Strange night here last night -- nothing on the calendar -- are rarity. I had planned to take my Mom to see her sister in the hospital, but my aunt went home already so that didn't happen. I laid down on the bed to read a book for a while, the next thing I know, it's sometime in the middle of the night.

The thing with falling asleep early is the brain actually gets some rest. I had nightmares and tossed and turned all night long. Actually, I think I was dreaming that my MIL's house was haunted -- although it wasn't my MIL's house, but it was in my dream. These very unfriendly ghosts were living there. It really was strange and I know it scared the daylights out of me....but I can't remember now any more about it. I wonder where that came from?

That's it, no more early to sleep for me. :guilty:

Hopefully the snow will stay away. We're off to see Santa at the mall this morning. I'm betting all 3 of my 1 year olds scream their heads off when they have to sit on Santa's lap for the picture. Yep, I'm really mean and they have to sit there for a second to have their picture taken. But I always tell the person taking it to just take it, because I know they aren't going to stop. Then it's off to the fountain the throw pennies in. Another big highlight of the morning.

And, then I'll finish all my Christmas shopping since I'll be at the mall anyway. NOT!! With 7 kids, there is NO way I even think of going into a store. We leave early and hit McDonald's for lunch. Much better idea than shopping with them all. :cool1:

Thanks Diana - I'm awake but didn't want to reply to myself. :)

That is a great story, Mary.

Funny coincidence about Bear (TZ moment here) - my mom bought me a bear, right before I left for college to be with me while I was away back in 1987. My bear looks just like your bear, except mine is all white, not beige & white. And today, my bear sits on Emily's bed. I can't believe that he's almost 20 years old. He's more off-white now, but he's too special to get rid of him.

Sorry about the nightmares, Cindy!! I hate it when I have nights like that. Last night was actually a good one, Madison didn't wake up once.

Do you take the kids to Woodfield? I love that place at Christmas. I used to work part-time at the GapKids there. It's crazy at Christmas, but my best friend and I used to get all our shopping done in one night there, since it's so big.

Funny story about Emily and Santa - we have taken Emily to WDW since she was 6 weeks old, so she has grown up with seeing life-sized characters in costumes. Well, when Emily was 14 months old, we took her to see Santa at the local mall and she wanted NOTHING to do with him. She screamed the whole time, you should see the picture. But, when we took her to see the Easter Bunny in the spring, she just loved him. She didn't mind a GIANT bunny or mouse or anything, but don't put her on the lap of some strange man.

Emma and Julia are both the same way. They love Mickey, Pooh....all the guys, even the Easter Bunny. Now Santa, Snow White, Cinderella--they are petrified of all of them. :confused3 I think when they can see a face under a crazy costume they just know something is up.

How scary Cindy! :earseek:

Can I sign up to come to Cindy's daycare? For me, not my kids. :rotfl2: God Bless You for taking 7 children anywhere, let alone the mall! I can handle my two, but some days barely! We did Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, the mall on Monday and the kid Christmas party is at the Y on Saturday...I think that's going to be it for Santa.

We watched the Polar Express last night with Emma. She loved it. She kept telling the kids to be careful and yelling oh, no when they were in danger! :confused3 I don't know where she gets this stuff.

Last night when I was watching the 11pm news they were calling for 1-3 inches tomorrow. When I got up the 5:30 news said 4-8. :confused3 How much snow do you think we'll really get? I'm actually looking forward to it, because I need a picture for Christmas cards and if it does snow, we'll suit the girls up and take some pictures outside! :cold:

Hi we are going on the cruise too. I've been on three but this is the first member cruise. I'm confused how to read this board, any tips? I've been on and off DIS since 1999 and never really got the hang of how to view recent posts without wading through all the others. Looking forward to meeting more of you.

I'm not sure if subscriptions are broken, but if you go to your user cp you should be able to access the thread. What I usually do if I get too far behind is click on last page then read 2 pages back.

Good morning, Ilene!! If you want to keep track of all the posts since you've last been here, then I would subscribe to the thread. Then, you can set up to get notifications when there are new posts. Then, when you click on the link in the email notification, it will bring you to the first post since you last read the thread.

Mark & Mary, you better plan on some extra time to get to the airport and out of this place.

Mark, Mary, Cheryl & Todd, have fun in Disneyland!!

Glad to see you posting. The more you hang around here, the easier it will get. I agree with the others, subscribing to the thread should help.
