Parking: if you get there early you can play parking lot fire drill!!! :)
Now, I thought that was fun!!! We had a little mini-meet in the parking lot, and as soon as they opened up the port, we all ran to our cars to get in line.

Thank heavens I have been lurking or I would never catch up on this thread. I was afraid to post sooner for fear I would jinx us from getting onboard. As it was it took four phone lines and forty five minutes to get through.

My sister Janet, her friend Sue and I will be in cabin 6134. Janet and I had this cabin during our Hurricane Jeanne Magic cruise last year and like the location. It was just a coincidence we got it again but on the Wonder. Except for the long walk to the gift shops for the two pin addicts I think it will be fine. We have late seating- trying to leave the early seating open for the groups with kids.

I usually don't post often but will be lurking. Thanks to Mark for the fancy logo too.
Welcome to the group, Rose!!! Don't just lurk, join us and post when you can!!! :sunny:

Ok everyone, get those pens ready...
From the BCV annual meeting
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=972860

The cruise has been so popular that DVC is considering two options to ensure everyone gets on:

1) Once you have gone on two cruises, you might become ineligible for a 3rd the following year. DVC may "ask" you to lay out to allow others to go, or

2) A lottery where you call to sign up, and receive a phone call back from MS in the order your name was drawn to pick your cabin, or

3) Have two member cruises next year.

No decision has been made yet, but I think JL was getting a little "chewed" by some people who don't like spending 5 hours on the phone on the day ressies are made.
I don't like spending lots of time on the phone either, but I would hate to think that I was ineligible to go on the cruise because I've already been on 2.

I know since the first member cruise ,some of us have been asking for the 7 day. I asked on the 2nd member cruise too. So I know that's been asked more than once. We can always keep asking.
I would definitely LOVE to see a 7-night member cruise.

It's worse on days like today, where I travelled yesterday and this is my first chance to check the boards.

We live downstate from you, in Rockland County. I know Clifton Park well. Back in the spring, I was consulting in Albany on Wolf Rd.

I used to work at The Turf (holiday Inn) and Days in on Wolf Rd.
I'm now a state working and commute to the state campus by SUNY Albany
Rockland Cty huh?, A co-worker got a promotion in September and now work in Rockland County at the health dept for food service or something like that.

Well. Ive had fun semi chatting,, but its 730 and DH isnt evne home from work yet.
I need to take care of the pets and stuff.

Hi Rose and welcome to the thread. I just noticed you're from Philadelphia. DH and I were in Philly this past weekend. DS goes to St. Joe's and plays hockey there. We try to make it down for as many hockey games as possible but I have to confess . . . there was a hockey game on Friday night and we didn't go! I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get through for the member cruise call in so I told DS we wouldn't be at the game. I felt a bit bad about it but we had such a good time on the last cruise I couldn't risk calling in on my cell phone alone! Annmarie

I know I had read someone was just here. We live on the complete opposite side of the city from St. Joes's though. Janet and I both went to Temple. And as Janet works for a cell phone company I will bite my tongue on the reliability of the cell phones in this area. We both got through on landlines  .I'll have to keep an eye out on the college hockey scores in the paper from now on :)

I somehow remember reading that Shutters would create a CD for you. Do you know how much it costs (just in case I decide to leave the laptop home)? I have a 6.3 megapixel digital SLR and I don't usually like to sacrifice the image quality for more space.
I think that Shutters charged $14.95 for the CD. We thought that was a bit much, but we didn't have much of a choice.

Amy and Chris are at WDW, but I'll answer this, Chris can fill in the technical specs! A bunch of us each sent our pics on a cd to them I think there were 10 or 12 of us and then Chris and Amy put them on one giant DVD. It's great because there were so many things a lot of us didn't get pictures of.

And I was another one who filled my 1GB memory stick and had to get a disc burned at Shutters, if I remember correctly, it was 9.99. The downside was it took them several hours to do it so I had to use my old crappy backup camera in the meantime, but I guess it's a good thing I brought it.
You are basically right, Diana. Everyone sent in a CD of all of their pictures. Then, Chris used some program to compile them all and he put them into one DVD (or 5 CDs for some) and we sent them out to everyone that participated.

Chris not only burned the pictures (is that the right term?) onto one DVD, he also put them into order so all of the first day pictures were together, second day was together, third day was together, fourth day was together and then post-cruise. It was for a lot of continuity while watching the slide slow.

Chris did an awesome job and we'll be lucky if his offer still stands to do it again for this cruise. :cheer2: :cheer2:
Thanks for the kind words, Cindy!!! I'm sure that Chris really appreciates it!!

Oh, Cindy, what are the chances o having a good-ole-animal-house-food-fight????? Maybe set up a Dis-Toga-Party for the sail-away partty....Or even biting contest between Diana and Ian!!!!!
No food fights for me!! I stay out of the way of slinging peas.

You certainly wouldn't want to see ME in a Toga. :rotfl2:

And, I don't know about that biting contest?!?!?! Seems a little unfair for little Ian!?!?!?! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
(Just teasin' you, Diana!!)

Yes Cindy dear - that was me. :rotfl2:

I did like the one shot Amy (I think) got of Mark, Cheryl and I while waiting for dinner with Jim Lewis. I think I looked pretty nice in that photo. :)
I remember that one!! That was right after we got done with dinner in Palo. We were lucky enough to have a table right next to Art Linkletter!!! He was just SO nice!!!

Speaking of the picture cd that Chris put together for us - I was looking at it today and saw a picture that Mark and Mary took at Key West with a rainbow. You should have submitted that picture. I saw a picture just like Mark and Mary's in the Vacation Magic Magazine. It was the winning photo for the photo contest that DVC ran.
I wish that I would have sent in a picture. When I heard about the photo contest, I thought that it had to be related to the actual cruise. We had tons of really cool shots, but they didn't have the ship or people from the cruise or DVC in them, so we didn't send them in. Oh well, I'll know better next time.

Heres another GTKYFC queation.
Finish this sentence
If I hadnt been able to book the crusie I would.....
XXXXXXXXXX
My answer is POUT!!!!just kidding
i would have used some of the points to book a week in Gatlinburg, TN and take day trips on our motorcycle.
Maybe a few nights at BIg Cedar in Branson.
I would have definitely put myself on the waitlist and prayed & prayed. If not, we probably would have just planned a different vacation.

If I hadnt been able to book the crusie I would.....I would have called Member Services today and got on the waitlist. Then I would start praying. If all else failed I would just be happy with our May cruise but sad come October when I couldn't sail with all my DIS friends.
Wow, my answer is the same as Mary's and I hadn't even read hers yet!!! Are you my other long, lost sister??? :rotfl2:

Ok, now that I've caught up, responded to several posts and almost talked to myself for 2 pages, I'm going to go watch Las Vegas!!!

See you guys later!!!!

If we didn't get on SSMC06 . . . since we already made our pre- and post-cruise reservations, I would've requested to be put on the wait list. If that didn't work out I think we still would go to FL except while everyone else was cruising we'd be visiting friends in the Tampa area.

Definately - part of the sisterhood!

Ok I'm all caught up .....finally.
Let's see if I can remember everything I wanted to comment on.

1.About other cruises and the "options" they are contempleting. Granted I imagine there are some who have not made a member cruise yet and I feel for them. This will be my second MC and I made sure I was up and ready to dial them phones just like anyone could have done (sorry about those on the west coast). It took me almost 2 hours to get thru for the "05 cruise put I was persistent. Luckily this time it only took about 45 to get confirmed in a stateroom. It's the luck of the draw.
I am not big on "lotteries". They had a lottery once before for New Years Eve 1999. at that time I was not a member but my parents were and we wanted to do a special vacation and be at Disney for NYE. My father had already been a member for 8yrs (bought Feb. '92) and was NOT "picked"
so we stayed at OKW for the days leading up to NYE, moved to All Star for 2 nights, then back to OKW. :crazy2:

2. the picture dvd/cd was awesome and like a few have already said there are some pictures of the trip that I would not have had if it was not for the DVD. I really like a picture Mary took of my family at the sailaway party that I never thought to have her take with my camera too and a picture Cindy took of me having a "Goofy" moment on the beach.

3. To answer the GTKYFCQ - If I had not gotten on the cruise we would have gone to HH. I have to go to North Carolina in June for my nieces graduation and since we would have been that close whats a little drive!

Ok I think I answered everything I wanted to!

oh we finally got our christmas tree up this weekend and since we were on a Disney "High" we decorated our tree with just our Disney ornaments.

One last thing and then I'm done. Last week I asked my son Nick (10 yrs) what he wanted for christmas and he said "I want to go on the member cruise" Well after we finished booking on Saturday he went into his room and put in the Castaway Cay club cd and pleyed it over and over and over and over again. You get the idea. I listened to that cd at least 100 times over the weekend.

Now I'm done! :teeth:
