I wish that I would have sent in a picture. When I heard about the photo contest, I thought that it had to be related to the actual cruise. We had tons of really cool shots, but they didn't have the ship or people from the cruise or DVC in them, so we didn't send them in. Oh well, I'll know better next time.

The winning photo looks like it was taken from the front part of the ship overlooking the city and Mark's looks like it was taken from the back area of the ship. Same rainbow, same rooftops.

I wonder what kind of other photos were sent in?

2. the picture dvd/cd was awesome and like a few have already said there are some pictures of the trip that I would not have had if it was not for the DVD. I really like a picture Mary took of my family at the sailaway party that I never thought to have her take with my camera too and a piture Cindy took of me having a "Goofy" moment on the beach.

Now I'm done! :teeth:

Stacy - I love that picture of you guys. See it is all about sharing and paying it forward. I got a great picture of you, Amy got a great picture of Mark and I, etc. Thanks to Amy and Chris we all get to share!

As for being done - no way - we are just starting again!

Heck I only meant I was done for that particular post.
You know I'm in it for the long haul. I may not get a chance to post as often as some but I will always be here!

And, we missed pirate night for Palo. I don't know that I would do that again. I LOVED Palo, but I don't know that we'll do it again this member cruise. Too much going on, and I'm sad that we missed pirate night.

I agree - we did Palo one night as well and while it was magnificent we loved the main food in the dining room so we'll probably do that this time.

Does DCL normally have the Palo brunch only on sea days? Would it possibly be an option for CC days?

Ok so I'm never going to brag on the temperature here again (or at least for a bit) as on Saturday while I was out in the backyard I was bit/stung by a fire ant. Matt wasn't home and I was a bit worried as I am allergic - not horribly at this point (thankgoodness) and Matt was not home. We didn't notice any problems with my leg/ankle until Sunday afternoon when it started to itch/swell a bit. Well, as I type this I have the leg propped up, my ankle is swollen, the bite mark is clearly irritated, itchy, hard and hot and I am not such a happy camper. I did take a benedryl tonight and hope it works as I cannot take them at work due to the sleepy factor.

If anyone has any good remedys short of getting rid of the leg let me know.

As for what we would do if we were not on the cruise - we'd take it as a sign that Matt should not take his finals early and spend our last weekend before marriage trying to finish all those last minute wedding plans. Yep - we're crazy!

OK, I'm gone for 2 days and I have 14 pages to read. And someone (Tim) said that the thread would be quiet if I was gone. HA, HA, HA!!! He has a LOT to learn about this crazy group!!!

Anyway, we're back from WDW and it was a LOT of fun. Now, to go back and read my 14 pages.

Welcome back Amy!! I hope you had fun!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's what I understood from the contest. So, I sent in two. One was of Stacy acting silly on the beach during the group picture. Stacy turned to me, threw her hands up behind her head and smiled. So, I snapped her picture. Later I sent it into the picture contest.

Since we could send in two, I sent in one of my kids standing by our decorated door.

If I had known what they were looking for, I'm sure I would have sent in a different picture. I really thought it needed to show a "moment" from the cruise. My kids picture didn't show a real special moment but Stacy's sure did. :teeth:

Why, look, here Stacy is now :teeth: :teeth: Stacy's DH, Jeff is in the background. And, Amy's DH, Chris is also in the background -- he's the one with the little one on his shoulders (what little bit you can see of them).

Sorry, Julie, I know you can't see it. :(

3. To answer the GTKYFCQ - If I had not gotten on the cruise we would have gone to HH. I have to go to North Carolina in June for my nieces graduation and since we would have been that close whats a little drive!

Nick would absolutely love Hilton Head. Cameron will tell you, it's awesome. We love the lack of structure and relaxing all day long doing "nothing" but having a great time of it.

We'll be there the last week of July. The villa's there are huge -- want to join us?? :cool1:

That's what I am afraid of. As much as we would like to try brunch at Palo and have heard that we should, I'm afraid of what we might miss out on if we booked it.

I'm thinking we are still going to hold off on Palo until a regular cruise....whenever that might be. :flower:

Yikes, Julie, I hope you are feeling better soon. I've heard about those fire ant bites. Was it just one or an entire mound that got you? :earseek: :earseek:

Gee, I hope the discomfort goes away soon. Did you call a doctor and ask their advice?

I used to work at The Turf (holiday Inn) and Days in on Wolf Rd.
I'm now a state working and commute to the state campus by SUNY Albany
Rockland Cty huh?, A co-worker got a promotion in September and now work in Rockland County at the health dept for food service or something like that.

That commute down the Northway must be a pain. I stayed across the street from SUNY at the Cresthill Suites.

Lily - we've vowed that we will never fly in the same day as sailing again. Even if you don't have weather delays we've found that we are just too beat. The flight out of Chicago is 7 am. Which means we wake up about 4 or 4:30 to leave by 5 to get to the airport. The first day is a long one and we are just beat. So now we just fly in at least the night before. For the last Member Cruise we drove down and our plan is to do that again. We'll leave a few days early, get some time in at Disney, enjoy the cruise and then back to Disney for a few days.

Take my advice, fly in the day before. We had taken several cruises and had flown in the day of. The last cruise we took, our plane had a machanical problem ander got off the ground, missed our cruise and even with travel insurance only got back about 70% of our money. We are scheduled to try again on the Disney Members cruise this next Oct. and we are going to fly in the day before. Its just not worth the risk and the heartbreak..smjj
Thanks for the replys. I guess DH and I will have to discuss further.

Amy, got the pics! Thanks again to you and Chris. The thread maybe slowed down a tiny bit since you were away (not), but your catching up kept me way behind trying to catch up!
:teeth: :rotfl:
GTKYFK: if we didn't get through, probably waitlist. We are on 7-day prior to this one, but took 2-week vaca this time in case we wanted to try DVCMC06 instead. Well, DH decided to keep the first and second! We got back to backs. (Our first non-Members cruise)

I seriously don't think I've ever been that hot in my entire life! I start sweating even thinking about sitting there outside Cirque du Soliel! :earseek:

Hi all - just getting caught up. Karen and I were at homecoming (I even won a watch from "Sara Toga" in the trivia contest). Karen had to get a small bag of ice for her insulin (she's a Type I diabetic). That was a MISERABLE day... all that nice (hot) food. Ugh.

Holy Wa!

I started out today on post #2171 (Pg 145). Here it is 2:05am Tuesday morn and I'm finally caught up. Whew!

My two cents about the cruise is this. Basic law - Supply & Demand. If there is a buch of people wanting a product, and there is not enough - you make more. Solution: Two cruises. You have one division of Disney chartering from another division, my guess is DVC gets a PRETTY good package deal from DCL. Limitations on a program where it is packaged as "vacation where you want - when you want" doesn't sound like a deal to me. But hey whatta do I know :confused3.

Karen is sitting here tying to give herself an annurism by reconciling our points to our planned trips this year. She says hi to all.

Gonna call it a night, have errands to rum today once the rest of Detroit wakes up. :moped:

That would be an understatment of the day. More like melted.   :sad2:

Ugh! I was so miserable that day! And Curt was even more miserable than I - I get SUPER cranky when I'm hot! :rotfl: No moving to the southern states for us! :sunny:

Hi Karen and Curt! We will be across the hall from each other. Tom and I are in room 7622. I also added the 2006 logo to my signature. I was afraid I'd jinx us if we added it before we got on board. We are staying at BCV on Saturday before the cruise and Thursday through Sunday after. Annmarie

My thoughts, exactly, Annmarie! I had added the logo when Curt and I decided to go, but then I took it back off, for fear of bad juju. :scared: But it's stayin' there now, by golly!!!

We're looking at staying the same days, but probably at SSR or OKW. Now if I could just make those points magically multiply... :wizard: :teeth:

I do believe that a fun time will be had by all - on and off the ship!

If I hadnt been able to book the crusie I would.....
XXXXXXXXXX

I would stop ripping my hair out at the roots trying to make all of our planned trips fit with our points! :crazy2:

Seriously, we would've put ourselves on the waitlist. I'm pretty confident that it would have come through. We put ourselves on the list last year, but turned it down when they called. (We were originally booked on the East-bound Repo cruise, so we didn't think it would be such a great idea to do SSMC05, as well. Turns out, we cancelled the Repo - after coming to our financial senses - so we gave up our spot on SSMC05 for nuttin'. Rats. )
