That's what we have here too. Deep area's in the backyard but hardly nothing in the front - except on the sidewalk of course. I let the dog out this morning and he jumped off the patio into a snow drift - he was gone for a couple of seconds until he made his way out of it and then he looked back at me like I was the one who buried him :rotfl:

We have an elderly couple that lives across the street and John keeps their walks and driveway clear. In the spring they always send over a bottle of wine and a basket of homemade breads and cookies. The best part is the card that is attached. It says To our Good Neighbor Joe. We've lived here for 6 1/2 years and we've told them it's John but I think something gets lost in the English translation :confused3

John (or is it Joe) is one of those that thinks he has to clear the whole neighborhood. Last night at about 10 he redid our walks & driveway, the elderly couple across the streets, their neighbors and our two neighbors sidewalks.

That's funny because to the lady that lives next door, we're Diane and Dennis. We've lived here for 6 1/2 years too. I'll give her credit for Diane as I've never corrected her, but Dennis lives two houses on the other side of her. I've always wanted to know if she calls Dennis Bruce. I chat frequently with her when the weather is nice outside
(we watch the same soaps and she's just about as into the neighborly gossip as I am!) and call to check on her if I don't see her coming or going for a few days. I always tell her stories and refer to Bruce as Bruce, not Dennis....but she never puts two and two together. She also calls Emma Julia and Julia Emma, but OK, I do the same thing sometimes!

I guess we're still luckier than most! It's better than having neighbors that aren't friendly and don't talk to us at all or are crack dealers. :lmao:

We ended up with 12 inches of snow and then the wind blew it into some deep drifts. We just came in from pushing and shoveling 3 driveways. BUT we survived so far, now the temps are gonna drop again. I just love winter!
Gonna work on CJ's this afternoon!

Look closely at the hood of our Avalanche. When I picked Coleen up from the hospital last night we were driving home and some IDIOT in a little car was driving down the middle of the road I got over as far as I could and SLUOOSH got into a drift that was OVER the height of the hood. Took a while to get out with the help of another 4x4. I am sure he NEEDED to be out on the roads in that CRAP last night :confused3

As of right now we're at 15 inches...according to my oh, so scientific homemade yardstick. And in the last hour we've gotten at least 2 1/2 inches. I couldn't find the real yardstick and found out from Bruce that Alex had gotten locked out of the house last night and accidentally spent the night in the garage. I didn't want to go in there to look at a potention mouse murder scene! He doesn't eat them, he just plays with them death! :scared: So on top of snowblowing the foot of snow, he's gotta play mouse mortician. I guess there's 2 friends of Mickey out there. So I made a yardstick out of a piece of molding, a sharpie and my trust 12 inch ruler, which would be buried by now!

Well I cant make it to my mailbox so it wont happen today.

I called our weather line and the ****** building mgr said we were open at 5:30 am and since conditions are stilll rather difficult please use extreme caution and make sure you have ample time to get to work. I made the attempt to go to work this am. I shoveled what I saw as the high points and got my car stuck half way down the drive. I called in and my boss is Pi$$ed off that the BM said work was open. Now come to find out the ****** is stuck on his street!

Well I am home today now and will work on circle journals.....

Take care everyone.

LOL Erin you ROCK!

Mary - condolences on the loss in your family!

All - stay safe from the weather! I could use a snow day or two but not that much snow.

Hey everyone!!! I hope all of you in the path of that nasty snow storm are safe & warm!!!

It was a busy day around here today with Emily's Valentine's Day party at school, then I went to lunch with Chris. Tomorrow the 4yr old classes at the preschool are having a "dance" during school, so Emily is all excited about getting dressed up and dancing with the boys. They even have a DJ. Too funny if you ask me!!!

How cute! I'm sure they will have alot of fun.

Hope everyone is safe and warm and enjoying Valentines day in whatever
way you choose. My dh made me a wonderful dinner. Grapefruit appetizer, Salmon, asparagus and brown rice for main course. I think I spied some godiva chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge as a surprise dessert YUM!
We only wound up with alot of rain and SLUSH around here :-( I guess it's good cause we don't have to shovel but I was kinda hoping for a day home to scrapbook etc. :goodvibes Oh well. This weekend is my knitters retreat up in ME.
I plan to sell my spinning wheel and get another more portable one...but the best thing is just chillin' with my friends in a hotel filled with fiber nuts and no housework, bills etc calling to me. I can't wait. Before that though I need to get my act together and do the FAFSA online so my kids get financial aid next year in their respective colleges. So I guess I should try to do that now.
Be safe everyone!

Brrrr, it's been cold today. Okay most of y'all would consider this a warm day, but for me it was freezing. I even saw a few snow flakes drifting in the air this afternoon. (Go ahead and hate me, I can handle it. :rotfl: )

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We don't have anything special planned, just MIL coming over for dinner again after David meets up with her at the hospital. I hope the news today is as good as it was yesterday. FIL has now been in the hospital 18 days and as of yesteday he still hadn't had anything to eat or drink, but he's getting back to his old grumpy self so I take that as a good sign.

Amy, that dance sounds so cute. Of course at 4/5 years old they're all anxious to dance with each other. But in a few years, isn't that when the kooties set in?:rotfl2:

Hello everyone - popping in for a minute to say thank you for your condolences - we knew Bob's dad didn't have very long but it still makes us all very sad.
Bob and Jen have had a rough time of it so I'm helping with Christopher as much as I can. There will be a small memorial service on Friday and maybe I'll be able to get back on track after that is over.
It doesn't make matters any easier for me with this colder than cold weather - I'm not sure that groundhog got it right this time.
I'll be back on when I have more time. Been working on the CJs so I will be passing them along to Chris sometime next week.

Hey there!
Just popping in for a second bfore heading off to bed.
Well we got lots of snow, something like 2 feet today and it still snowing. Jeff & went into work early, 7am, and left early. I can't believe with the conditions and practically all the counties around us declaring snow emergencies and the weathermen saying to stay off the roads that they didn't close the state offices early.
We had a ton of shoveling to do and had to clear some snow off the roof since it got so high it was blocking our furnace exhaust/intake so the pilot light went out so no heat. But once we cleared that I cranked that furnace up.
Well I'm off to bed since it's just been a long day.

Well I'm glad to hear you made it home safe! We have about 24 inches over here. I'm tired of the snow already! I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Well well well Looky there Diana starts page 2000!

Congrats!

Good morning everyone! Diana I hear you with being sick of the snow. We didn't get near as much as you but after the first couple of days the snow isn't white and beautiful anymore. It is just grey mush that I hate.

Stacy - glad to hear you guys got home safe. Sounds like you had a very long day.

Looks like we will be at a major milestone very soon. :)

Did anyone buy into ak? We bought more SS points while on the cruise, but now wished we had waited.

Got Snow?

Not the best pictures, but it's 6 degrees out, windchill -9, so I wasn't stepping outside to take them! Just another reason why I need to move to Florida---SOON!!

Out the front door:

We won't be getting out the front door anytime soon! Luckily we use the garage door! That drift is almost up to the door handle.

The backyard. That thing in front of the tree is a BBQ. :lmao: And the slide twists back around and drops you out of the front part, to show how much is buried!
DSC06118.jpg

And would you believe me if I told you there's a very big swimming pool in that picture? Those lumps around the perimeter are bushes that stand about waist high.

We haven't--yet. But my hesitation has to do with the fact that I'm a big-time grudge holder and I'm still slightly miffed at DVC.
