Cheryl, pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: I hope all goes well tomorrow. It's been a long time coming and it will be nice for you to feel back to normal.

It would be great is Todd could check in when the surgery is over to let us know how your doing.

Ok guys, did you see Oprah today??? I spent almost the entire show in tears. What a touching show?!?!?!? It was all about her project that she gave video cameras and $1000 to all of her audience members and told them to pay it forward. It really touched me!! We've always done the "angel" tree, but this year I'm going to try to take it one step further. I've decided to try and collect money & toys from my friends & family here to buy some gifts for the kids at our local children's hospital and homeless shelter. I might not be able to make the same difference that the $1000+ that the Oprah show audience did, but if I can put a smile on just one child's face, then I'll be happy!!!

I don't watch Oprah but I love to hear those kinds of stories. Good for you doing something productive for those less fortunate. I struggled with that several years with Cub Scouts -- I always felt like we could do more to help others but met some resistance along the way. Times are changing because the kids are bringing a gift for Toys-for-Tots to Decembers meeting. :thumbsup2

pixiedust: to you Cheryl on the surgery tomorrow. Glad you're going to have the surgery and getting rid of the pain will be a big relief.

Remember pain medication is your friend. :goodvibes

Nick will back to school tomorrow. Some cough medicine and some extra doses on his inhaler and he'll be fine!

Hope Cameron gets better before this weekend!! :wizard:

I'm glad to hear Nick is on the mend. Maybe he can teach Cameron how to use the inhaler.

Gary just got home with Cameron from the doctor. This is the last time I let Cameron decide if he needs to go to the doctor or not. I should have followed my instincts and took him in on Friday or Saturday. Not only does Cameron have ear infections in both ear canals, but he has pretty severe wheezing and bronchitis. Hopefully he'll be on the mend by the weekend -- he'll have a lot of antibiotics in him by then. Gary's off to pick up the drugs at the pharmacy. After his first dose, Cameron's off to bed. I'm betting he'll be home again tomorrow. :(

Way to go, Judy!!! :cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I'm glad you were able to pull it off.

Sandy, great that you enjoyed the party. party: party:

Believe me, this party was no easy task, especially since Sandy did no traveling for business after the cruise. I planned everything from work or from my car on the cell phone! Stressed doesn't even come close to describing the last week before the party! I didn't sleep at all the night before - I had a nightmare that he came back from his mother's house BEFORE all the guests came! Getting the food in the house was very difficult - I ended up turning on the waist-high frig that no one took to college this year and sneaking it in there since it's in the garage. All the party goods were in DD car until I was able to sneak them in when he left the house. My friends were incredible - the kids made the salads and stuff at one of the houses. My friends and kids were waiting in the dead-end for Sandy to leave the house. Then, when he did, they all rushed to the house and we had 45 minutes to set up everything! It was like a shopping spree getting it all set up. Buying the movie tickets really threw him off, though. The theatre manager was so nice to exchange them for us. He thought it was so funny he couldn't help but laugh. Anyway, Sandy was really surprised and had a wonderful time. I love parties - my kids' friends say I make the best ones! And, thanks to the pre-cruise party, I was able to get green M&M's since Sandy is convinced that they don't have any calories!

The most stress I had was getting the contractor to put up the new mirror in our new bathroom. It's a long story, but I had to sue the first contractor when he screwed up the first bathroom. Consumer Protection was my advocate, who brought felony charges against him! So, when the new contractor came to demolish the newly finished awful bathroom, they broke my mirror. It took some time to get a new one, but when it did come, the contractor kept putting me off. All I wanted was for it to be up the party. When I threatened file a complaint against him, they showed up Friday morning unannounced to put it up!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. BTW, the "free" turkey I got for spending $300 was from our local supermarket - I buy $300 worth of groceries at one time when everyone is home, so it was no big deal.

On Friday I went shopping, too, and I shopped all day! My email address used to be "luv2shop" when we were on AOL, but I had to change it when we went to optonline. I bought towels for all of the bathrooms in our house (3) and new sheets for our bed. Then I went shopping for clothes and did quite well.

It was wonderful having the family home for the weekend, even though they are messy! Kids - what would I be without them!!

Enjoy all of your preparations for the holidays. We are getting ready for Chanukah, but Sandy will be traveling for most of it, so we will give out presents when he gets back.

The girls troops also do this, but not toys for tots, they adopt fanily and give them a dinner, and one gift each. They also do trick or treat for Unicef, the only problem we had was the girls couldnt call it a girls scout outing, because a non profit organization can not raise money for another organization. So we did it as a group of people and kids, it worked out nice. It always feels good to help someone else!

Cheryl I hope all goes well tomorrow! Get some sleep tonight and just think of how good you will feel in a few days!

Cindy, you can go in, and not do the dolphin interaction. You would be able to watch your family from the shore. Its almost the same price to do either, so I honestly would do the interaction, and the trainers are great. Anything that makes you uncomfortable they will work with you! The only thing I didnt like to much was that you cant take pictures or video. They do it for you, and then you are forced to purchase the pics from them. We bought the large package with a pic cd in it so we could reprint the pics. It was truely a once in a lifetime day for us.
