I told Deanna the girls were coming on Saturday, she was pretty happy! She's excited to see everyone. She tells her friends that she's going to visit friends she met on the cruise and they think it's just odd. Their loss!

She wants the girls to tell her about their Dolphin excursion.

I'm thinking Deanna should start charging admission to this fan club of hers.

A couple weeks back, Cameron brought home his weekly parent letter. It's an exercise where the kids write about their week and then the parents respond. The teachers then read both letters so they see how well the kids are communicating to the parents what's going on. Cameron's teacher will also send an email correcting something we might have written back to him (like a change in date for a performance was the last one).

Anyway, a couple weeks ago Cameron wrote about how they learned about internet safety and how they were not suppose to give information to people over the internet and never, ever, ever, post on message boards. I sat back and thought, how do I respond to this one with keeping it on the right path yet make sure that Cameron knew that the people we met on the internet were not serial killers and that we've actually made some really nice friends. So, I wrote that if he ever wanted to get on the boards (any of them) that I would be willing to sit with him and help him learn. We talked about the things to post and not post and how there are people who present themselves as someone other than they truly are. I then went on to say that Cameron himself has met a lot of wonderful people from the internet and now consider them friends.

That week, I didn't get an email back from the teacher. I'm sure she's still scratching her head over my response. ;)

Hang on, I'm coming with. :drive: I could use a night out and I promise I won't take too much of your attention!!! And.....crab legs are my favorites!

Darn it, you've probably already left. Have fun!!!!
Seriously Cindy - you would LOVE this place. You guys just might have to make a side trip to St. Pete sometime during your next trip to WDW. They have all-you-can-eat crab legs every Tuesday night and they were SO good!!! We haven't been there in a couple of years, and I forgot how good they were.

Woo Hoo Amy - DATE NIGHT! Wow she's feeding them, giving them a bath and they probably will be ready for bed when they get home! Nice Surprise!
Yes, it was fabulous!!! Our girls and their girls get along SO well, since they are so close in age. So, they had a great time!! And, they fell asleep on the ride home, so we just had to put them in bed.

Hey all. Just a quick update as I'm stopping in at home real quick. Despite being a little crabby after her surgery, Cheryl is doing just fine. I took a ride home to walk the dog and grab a quick bite (starving and didn't want to eat in the hospital cafe again), and the nurse asked me to get her to take a nap - which I told her to do "or else" between now and when I got back.

If approved she can go home at around 10pm tonight instead of staying over. We'll see how that goes, maybe she'll get to post on her own.
Thanks for the update Todd. I hope Cheryl's able to go home tonight. It's so much better to sleep in your own bed, and away from all the noise and interruption in a hospital.

pixiedust: for a speedy recovery Cheryl!

Todd - thanks for the update! Glad to hear all went well!

Thanks. Sorry that I didn't see your message until now as I didn't check my email when I stopped in earlier, but at least my post here got you your answer :)

She's on the couch watching TV. She's having some "No Chicken Chicken Soup".

Dear heart - I went to Atlanta the week we came home and then Houston. So, no excuses ;)

I meant that you did no traveling within 2 weeks of the party, when most of the work had to be done!

[Judy - Isn't it nice to have great neighbors that will help out on things like surprise parties!!! Glad it all worked out![/QUOTE]

Best friends AND neighbors, too! It was the best!

Glad to hear Cheryl is doing well. No-Chicken chicken soup? :rotfl: :rotfl2: I take it she is on broth? It's all for a good cause, though, right?

Don't hold your breath waiting for the replacement CD. Ours from the Sept cruise came broken, I called before we left for the Member Cruise and they said they would send one out - it still hasn't gotten here.
It will be on the picture DVDs. You can burn it to a CD to listen to in your car (or just copy it to your PC and listen any time you are chatting). It will even have a scan of the cd that you can print out or use as clip art if you want to label your ssk cd. If you want it sooner, the link someone posted (a few pages ago) has what is going on the picture DVDs. You can download the songs and cd image now and burn your own cd for immediate use. It's OK, but not really Disney specific - except track 1: The Ship's HORN! The music was done by some music production company that sells tracks for various themes.

I am glad Cheryl is at home and resting in the comfort of her own bed!

This is great news. You and Cheryl were in my thoughts yesterday and today. Hope she has a speedy and (relatively) painless recovery.

I'm not able to post from work as I am in the test lab . This happens every so often during the testing cycles and I'll be there for this week and next so I may not be posting as much.

Just a quick catch-up:

Happy Belated birthdays Julie and David!!!

Sandy - You're party sounds like it was a blast. Great planning Judy!

Chris and Mark - I sent something in the mail to you both today. Chris, we need to meet up again so I can give extra DVD to you, I only sent the picture CD this time.

Tina - The dolphins sounded and looked like a lot of fun. Casey has wanted to do that for the last few years but we never venture off Disney property as a family.

Cedar Point - How many can fit in a cabin/cottage? My parents and Casey are now interested in driving/meeting me there. Also, is the weekend set as July 13-15? For Harry Potter fans, that is when the Order of the Phoenix opens or so I heard in the Circuit City line.

Amy - Where is this crab place? My dad loves crabs so when he is down I would love to take him. What's good for us landlubbers on their menu? Nice to hear that you were able to get away from the girls for some alone time.

I think you just might WALK on WATER!!!!!

Too funny....not this trip to CC but the one before DH, Murt got a little nervous in the water and we SWEAR he did "walk on water". It's a little
family joke now ;)

A note about dolphin excursions...
A few years ago we did a "swim with the dolphins" excursion on Paradise Island at the Blue Lagoon. We made the reservations ourselves as we had
heard the one associated with Disney you did not actually get to "swim" but rather stand in waist high water. The Disney one was only 45min, the one
we did was probably closer to an hour, both included a 20min educational
seminar where you learned a little about dolphins and how they wanted you
to behave with them. You are actually participating in a "training session". You hold little pike fish (kinda gross, not for the squeamish) to reward them with as they go through their routines. At the end of our tour we actually "rode" on the nose of the dolphin. You layed in the water face down with your legs straight behind you and the dolphins came along VERY FAST and with their snouts pushing the bottoms of the soles of your feet PROPEL you up out of the water. I'll have to try to find pictures..we did buy the video too, it's amazing and a memory for a lifetime. So although it was expensive it was worth every penny. Now this was 7 years ago so it may be much more expensive now, not sure. This is the website http://www.dolphinencounters.com/index.htm

My son and his now fiancee also did Discovery Cove and had a wonderful experience, not the same as Blue Lagoon he said but still very good. Tina, it looks like you all had a fabulous experience, too. I think they are probably very comparable experiences and it's a great deal because it includes your meals and Sea World passes (I didn't realize this before!).

If your looking for something different to do on your next Disney cruise that has a stop in Nassau, you may want to look into this option.

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday! Looks like it is going to a very rainy day here in Chicagoland. Better to get it out of the way now so the weekend is clear for all those coming up.

Good, because ours is broken too. :(

Thanks, again, for tackling the picture CD project, Chris.

By the way, have your girls ever seen snow? :cold: They are now saying no snow over the weekend (but COLD). It may snow on Thursday so if it does dust us, the girls might have that chance.

I actually did a lot better than I thought I was going to. On our first day, I went out farther than I could stand. The water was SO clear I could see the bottom. Good thing I didn't see anything down there or I'm sure the lifeguard would have had to rescue me (instead of Walker  ). :fish:

At one point, I think it was the second day, I was laying on a raft chit chatting with Gail & John & I'm thinking Judy & Sandy were there as well. There was this stingray swimming back and forth right in the area we were at. I have to say I was pretty impressed that those in the water actually staying in the water and didn't run onto the sand.
