And if I do get something, I'm sure it will be the magnet because magnets don't stick to our refridgerator (it's stainless from just before they made them take magnets) so it would be completely useless here.

My magnet is going on the fridge too, but I think it was made if you want to put it on your car. There were instructions on the back of the magnet for putting it on a vehicle.

Ok, I know it has been a month since the cruise and I haven't even found the time for 1 post in that month.
It was very nice to meet everyone. Thanks for the sunrise walk on the 23rd. I too had a VERY disappointing vacation this year. I sent out a five page letter to DVC, DCL, and WDW last friday.
Since the cruise, we have all had some sort of illness. I was exhausted. I called in sick the Tues after we got back and slept for 6 hours. DH and kids all have had colds.
I also started a new college course toward my bachelors degree, Management of Stress and Tension. It hasn't been too stressful, so that is good.
Matt & Julie, you two look sooo happy. It is great that some of your DIS friends could join you. We peeked and saw you on Friday night just before the EPCOT fireworks.
Count us as another family that will not be on the next member cruise. We've already planned our next WDW trip for Jan 08 and can't afford the Oct trip too.
Thanks for everyone's help with all of our questions as first time cruisers. A special congratulations to Robin with her surprise news. I hope you are feeling well.
I've only caught up to page 1740, I'll keep trying to catch up.
Chris

Welcome back Chris! Sorry you are not feeling well. I had the same thing happen to me with the extra 6 hours of sleep after a regular night's rest but figured it was from a fun, adventurous but tiring trip. Hope you feel better soon.

:surfweb: Good Morning Friends,
I'm just speninding the morning get caught up with the back pages since Monday night. They changed some things around at work and much to my glee I now have to work again!! YEA!! not counting the time I get to dis I really do hate just just sitting around.

Our families, specifically my stepfather, can be real PITAs about our dietary choices, like being Kosher and the fact that Cheryl has certain dietary needs. He's also one of those people who will harp on a point continuously despite when it's become "enough".
I feel your pain there. My mother is not a PinTA she's just downright DENSE. Karen and I have been married for going on ... (2007-1994=) 12 years, we been going out for two years before that... MEAT IN ANY FORM MAKES KAREN PHYSICALLY ILL, so what does my mother say? Oh just pick the meat out of the spagetti sauce. I love the woman but she is CLUELESS, needless to say Karen and I usually have dinner PRIOR to visiting Mom.

That was funny. John said he would love to run the siren!
Ok have the coffee ready I'll be over 7am Friday morning (NOT - I want my time off to be of the paid variety - Sorry John, just wait for the Airshow, maybe then)

Now that this has turned into a HUMUNGUS reply/catchup post, I'll bid all my friends wishes for a good day and hopefully be the first to say,

Karen's right and I seriously bums me to think that she's lost her "happy thought." :tink:

Heading out for the World tomorrow. Catch ya all when we get back!

Have a great time! There is nothing like WDW the morning after Thanksgiving.

Ok, how dumb does DCL think we are? We need instructions for how to put a magnet on our car????? :lmao:

Ack, should have clarified. We're going to Mike's mom's first. Until Sunday. But believe me, my heart will be at WDW the whole time. Gma is being funky lately and I'm not looking forward to the visit. I already told Mike that if she starts in on me, I'm taking the car and the kids and we're leaving. Ugh.

Hi everyone - finally think I'm on the mend and thought I would pop on for a minute and read up the postings I've missed.

I also got the magnet from DCL.

Sounds like this is going to be a great Memories dvd that Chris is working on - I'm looking forward to see it.

Hope everyone has a nice and safe holiday - I have a few errands to run today since the dr gave me the okay to do so today so I'm going to try and get a few items needed for tomorrow and then back to resting.

Here's what the back of the magnet says

"For best results, apply Magnetic Car Sign to large, flat or reasonably curved, cleaned and waxed, dry vehicle surface, with no air pockets/gaps between Sign and vehicle. Clean Sign and vehicle with mild detergent weekly. Not recommended for repainted surfaces or on hoods"

I kid you not! This is on a sticker that's on the back of the magnet!

I bought my stuff to make my turkey cookies and picked up a tube of Nestle Chocolate Chip cookie dough. Reading the DIS, eating my cookie dough - how much better can life get :rotfl2:

Can you believe the store I went to didn't have any candy corn. I'm going to check the bulk food store near here - if they don't have it I'll have to improvise - how do you think Mike N Ikes will look :rotfl:

Ok, more pictures made it in the mail today from Gail/John and Cheryl/Todd.

Nothing here either! Maybe tomorrow but I won't hold my breath.
To be Honest, the puzzle is really cheap. It is about the size of an 8x10.

If you feel like having fun, you could crop the photo posted down to just the completed puzzle, print it on a good adhesive backed paper (or photo paper), stick it to some craft board, then put it on a jig saw and cut along the lines. Voila! Instant Disney puzzle!

I know, it is not the same as them sending it to us, but that same idea goes for any photo! I can't remember if I posted the link here, but Disney has lots of full screen photos available as wallpaper on their website under Desktop Stop. I made a (plain) web page that gives you instant access to their freebies (by-pass the Select this, Select that, see pop-up ad, etc) here: http://www.rodgersfamily.cc/disney_graphics.html. Pic your favorite picture and *bang* - instant puzzle. Oh, I am including these pics on the DVD.

Just a thought.

If anyone is NOT involved in our picture DVD and wants the Shore Side Survival Kit CD, you can download the contents. Someone here on the board is hosting it on their web server and has the link in one of the DVC threads.

Did Kevin (unixadm) say he was going to participate? He also took loads of pictures.
I emailed Kevin and he burned the pics to a DVD and is sending them to me. :cool1:

Chris, I also have been coughing since the cruise. It's finally starting to cease I think/hope! I keep thinking all that handwashing and still....

Whats really sad is the number of people that will complain or try to seek some kind of $$ out of Disney if they put it on their car and never clean it and the magnet screws up their paint. THATS why they put disclaimers on them I am sure.

First store I went to didn't either but Stop and Shop did..they carry it year round the other one said they only carry it at halloween time.
DD is making them now but I didn't splurge on the icing tips and they are struggling drawing the beak and legs.

It took me about 10 days to feel better. I was having dizzy spells and was VERY tired. I wasn't sure if the dizzy spells were an after effect of cruising but I can't imagine it would last 10 days after a 4 day cruise. Of course, I didn't take the time for myself to go to the doctor. I feel much better now.

I wish we could have spent more time with everyone. It is hard to do all the exploring as a first time cruiser and to make the time to meet everyone.
It is nice to be chatting with everyone on the thread still.
Chris

Glad to see you posting Chris!
Sorry about everyone being sick. Knock on wood everyone is healthy here.
Once you get caught up don't be a stranger we still seem to be going strong here!

For all those in the picture club, I will be including a few extras, space permitting - if we are now talking about multiple DVDs, then there will most likely be plenty of room!
  • Seaside Survival Kit CD contents with customized web page interface
  • Photo of Seaside Survival Kit triangular magnet
  • Photo of Seaside Survival Kit Puzzle
  • Web page of free Disney screen savers, wallpaper, etc, from Disney's DesktopStop
  • Links to a few free utilities that I used to put the Photo DVDs together with including tools to rename in mass, update file time stamps with info from *inside* the photo, etc.
If there is something anyone thinks would also be good to include, let me know. I won't let the extras cause us to go over to another DVD, but chances are that we will have a few hundred meg left over anyway.

That sounds awesome Chris.
Thank you for taking this challenge on again. You don't know how much we appreciate it!!
