I don't know about anybody else but I feel like I need a quick summary of all the DIS'er events taking place before/during/after the cruise.

Can anyone put one together and post it? Maybe put it up on the monorailgreen.info page too? It would be nice to have a one-stop place to go to see what will be going on!

So far I think I saw a pre-cruise DIS meet @ the Solarium @ BCV and some sort of bacherlorette get together on the ship but that is all and it is rather difficult trying to sift thru 19K+ posts to sort it all out from scratch.

TIA to whomever

Randy - never fear - all will be included in the Navigator you will get with your buttons. However since I know we have lots of planners in this group here is the run down. Also once the navigator is finished I will save it as a word document for anyone who wants to print it out ahead of time.

Saturday 10/21 - 3pm DIS meet at the Solarium in the Beach Club. At this meet you can pick up your button packets, kids gifts, and those of us in the circle journal exchange will also do our swap. We have a few other surprises as well.

Sunday 10/22 - if you have signed up for the DIS party bus we are meeting outside the main enterance of Beach club at 8:30. Please be prompt so the bus can leave on time.

Sunday 10/22 - DCL terminal. Amy is brining the DIS meet sign so look for the DIS group over by the sofa's. A great time to gather and chat before boarding.

Sunday 10/22 - Deck 10 mid-ship (above the Goofy pool) at 3pm. We will be on the same side as the port (not to be confused by the port side). :) If it is raining go to deck 9 same location. At this meet you can pick up your button packets and kid gifts and maybe a few other surprises.

Monday 10/23 - the group has agreed to meet up at the far end of the family beach. So if you want to sit and play among other DISers head down there.

Monday 10/23 - if you signed up for the DIS banana boats today is the day. Ladies boat leaves at 1 pm, mens at 1:30 pm

Tuesday 10/24 - Julie's ladies meet at 9:30 pm up on deck 9 by the adult pool!

Tuesday 10/24 - Matt's guys meet at 9:30 pm in Diversions

Wednesday 10/25 - the group has agreed to meet up at the far end of the family beach. So if you want to sit and play among other DISers head down there.

Thursday 10/26 - for those taking the party bus back to Beach Club. Meet up in the Promonade Lounge after breakfast.

Thursday 10/26 - for those attending MNSSHP there will be a short DIS meet at 6:30 pm at the Liberty Bell. This is right before the party starts at 7 pm.

Friday 10/27 - for those who signed up ahead of time we will meet at the Contemporary dock at 8:00 pm for the Wishes fireworks cruise.

Saturday 10/28 - not a DIS meet but a very special DIS day as Matt & Julie exchange wedding vows.

Oh my goodness Mary! It looks like we have a full agenda and we don't even know what DVC has planned for us yet!

So, tonight he brings home a form for required reading for the month of October. He needs to read 10 books minimum, 20 books for extra credit. So, here I am, thinking, we'll struggle through 1 book and call it a night.

:cheer2:I can't believe my eyes or my ears....Walker read all three with very little help from me. These were new books that he hasn't tried to read before and more importantly, books we haven't read to him. I don't know what his teachers have done with him at school, but this turn around today is amazing!

YEE HAW, way to go, Walker!!!!!

Okay, back from our 11 Nights in Paradise on the Wonder and our 4 days at WDW. Had a great time. Can't believe I'm getting back on the ship in less than three weeks!

Brent (Cruise Director) will be on vacation and Christian (assistant CD) will be the cruise director for our cruise.

The ship was already being torn apart while we were on it, especially in the exercise area above the bridge.

Linda

Welcome back Linda! Glad you had a great time on the 11-night! Can't wait for SSMC06 in less than 3 weeks. It's going to be amazing to see all of the renovations too!

Excuse me while I brag a moment!

Walker has strugged with reading and phonics for as long as I can remember. We've been working with a tutor to try and get him up to speed but not with much luck. Walker will work math problems until there is no end, but usually all I have to do is mention the word reading to him, and he gets antsy and finds 1000 excuses to to why we should do something else.

We've read to our kids since they were babies and both of them would sit all night long listening to us read to them. But, with Walker, it's been like pulling teeth to get him to read.

:cheer2: Three books later, Walker is torn between continuing to read or going with Cameron to Boy Scouts so he can sit with Gary in the hallway and read his Tiger Cub book. I can't believe my eyes or my ears....Walker read all three with very little help from me. These were new books that he hasn't tried to read before and more importantly, books we haven't read to him. Parent/Teacher conferences are Thursday night ---- you can bet this will be a positive discussion between me & his teachers. I just might shoot them an email right now while it's fresh in my mind and they can hear my excitement!

In the end, Walker chose to go with Cameron & Gary, so now the house is quiet. Time for me to spruce up the place before the hustle and bustle of nighttime routine & morning comes.
Cindy - It's a mother's right to brag! Actually, it's a requirement!! Tell Walker we said WAY TO GO!! :thumbsup2

Tina - Congratulations on UTOP (page 1,300). At the rate we're going, we'll have at least 2,000 pages before we cruise!

That is wonderful news, Cindy...I've had some of the same problems with Krystina...she hates to read because she lags so far behind her peers. She is in 4th grade, and struggles to read at a 3rd grade level...she has been tested and is not autistic, or has no other problems except the fact that she has trouble retaining information. The school district has been wonderful, they allow her to work one on one with a resource teacher without removing her from the normal 4th grade class...my biggest concern for her was that she would be put into a special education class, and thats not what she needs, she understands math at almost a 5th grade level..its just the reading and phonics...She has come along way since 1st grade when this problem was first recognized...but its a struggle everyday...Haylee is reading books that are at a higher reading level and that really bothers Krystina...I have explained to her that everyone learns at a different level, and someday she will be reading as well as Haylee if not better...and that she does other things better than Haylee at this time.

It's 9:15pm, I'm two or three pages down and I wanted to stop, and send Walker a big fat ATTABOY!

This is I'm sure one of a dozen or so that you can share with him when he gets back from Boy Scouts...
