Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. It's a sad day, but I've known it's been coming for a while. Now to make all you guys sad too--here's a pic of Penny I took yesterday, I tried taking some with her and the girls but not one of them would cooperate!

Diana - thoughts and prayers are with you today. I know how difficult this will be for you and your family.

Thankfully, I think that Madison got it from Emily, who got it from school. And, I'm starting to get a cough too! So, we have 2 weeks to get better!!!

that all of you are feeling better really soon!! I think the croupe is somethin that is going around...Tim has been coughing for over a week, and just started taking medicine last night...men!! He told me he'll be fine, and guess what I was right..he needed to take something!

Hey scrapbookers,
Here is what I wound up doing with the paint can handle. I took straws, I wanted red ones but could only find striped ones for now. So I used red, yellow and blue striped straws, cut them to about 3/4 inch and split them up the side so they could "wrap" around the handle. In between each straw I put curled ribbon, alternating between red, yellow and white. It looks pretty good I think but would look better with all red straws.

Another beautiful, if chilly day here today! Have a good one everyone.

P.S. sure hope Madison is feeling better Amy. I hate the temp spike that goes with croup. Three days and she'll be better, then it will just be sniffles most likely.

Can't wait to see what this looks like. Post a picture when it's done.

Oh my goodness Ilene! coming your way and I hope things brighten up for your DH. What type of business does he have? Send me a pm if you don't want to post here.

He had/has a photo minilab/shop. He does all sorts of processing (but so many people are doing theirs at their home computer), has some cameras (but mark up is low and there are places like BestBuy) and does do some on site digital events etc (the only thing that is saving us right now). So you can see where a once productive business has gone to pot. He tried to stay on top of it but just couldn't find a niche. He is currently trying to do office shots of people for their websites and does some portfolio type stuff for like models and stuff it just isn't enough. So he's got his feelers out for something else. My salary isn't enough to keep us afloat that is why I'm picking up the second job. Any and all ideas will be entertained, LOL! Maybe we should move to FL and work for Disney. Actually we have thought of putting together tours and stuff but I don't know if that could actually generate an income. We have lots of debt, two kids in college and no savings or retirement but we WILL enjoy this trip!

Amy, I hope Madision is feeling better today. Better now than in two weeks.

Diana, I know it's going to be a long day for you. I think it's the right decision for Penny and feel some people could be as lucky. I'll be thinking of all of you.


I breezed out of chat last night like wildfire. Gary received a call from the 1st grade soccer commissioner that there was a brawl during Walker's teams game yesterday and the other players left the field bruised & bloody. So, Gary immediately called the assistant coach as Gary wasn't there --- to hear another side of the story. The other coach is saying it was our players. The Assistant Coach is saying it was their players and parents. In the end, we still don't know what happened. Two things I'm thankful for -- that Gary doesn't have to figure out the "true" story and we missed the game. We already have enough headaches, so someone was looking out for us. Besides, I wouldn't want Walker to experience that type of unsportsmanlike behavior.

We spent the day by Gary's sisters house. Cameron's choice. It was a beautiful day -- probably the last we are going to have this season. The kids love going there. She has a couple of horses they like to clean up after . They actually fight to get to muck out the stalls --- I'm wondering who's children are these? We went to a tractor show in their little town which is a big deal to their little town. My SIL said, look at this, people sitting outside in front of the shops, this is what people do in small towns. I just can't imagine. We went to a little diner restaurant and then back to their house where Cameron did some target shooting in their backyard.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes --- Curt, I'm thinking Cameron's good without his own DIS id. As that's the first time I could ever get him to post, I'm thinking he'd forget it before he used it again.

I'm guessing this was the work of some parents! It's sad they have to act this way - it's a soccer game with kids and 6 yo at that. Good thing you weren't there, now you don't have to be messed up in the finger pointing.

woohoo! we're less than two weeks before the cruise!!! already, my mind is no longer focused on work.

quick question to those who were on previous DVC cruises....

typically, when is the group picture on CC taken? in the morning or afternoon? i have the catamaran snorkeling excursion on wednesday morning. does that mean i'll miss the picture?

I just wanted to add that Marc and my thoughts are also with you today. We had the same situation last month with our oldest girl and the decision is always so difficult on us.
