Karen has seen Wicked four times. She's traveled to Chicago to see it three times and once here in Detroit. I've seen it twice and it really is a classic Broadway musical. We both highly recommend it for anyone who is considering seeing it.
Yup, I give Wicked :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2. It was the last show of the Summer Musicals season last year and it's going to be the first show of the season next year. I can't wait to see it again - Row 12 aisle seats in the center Orchestra section!

Speaking of musicals, has anyone seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? We're seeing that on Wednesday, the last show of this season. I'm not even sure what it's about, but they always bring in a good one for the fair. (Next year's season closer is going to be The Lion King again.)

We survived Cameron's party. :crazy2:

It was certainly an eye opening experience. :rolleyes1

5 boys and myself. We started with lunch which cost me almost $140 -- they had a special which included a $10 game card with each meal. The sad thing was that most of the meals went right into the garbage. One of the boys left an entire cheeseburger, untouched except for the huge glob of ketchup he put all over it -- he said his mother fed him lunch before he came. :sad2: Another boy ordered a shrimp platter and didn't eat anything but a couple of french fries. :sad2: Another boy ate about 1/2 of his cheeseburger but managed to drink down several sodas. :sad2: Another ate a couple of bites of chicken fingers. :sad2: Cameron & I were hungry so we finished the burger Cameron had and the salad I had. It still was hard to swallow the bill in the end, knowing that it went right in the garbage. Then the waiter asked if anyone wanted dessert and a couple of boys moaned and groaned when I said we were going to pass. :headache:

They did enjoy the games -- but again, one of the boys went through his $10 game card in about 2 minutes. :confused3 I guess when your 10, there isn't any thought into making it last, although the other boys didn't have a problem.

I recharged each card for another $10. Cameron had a great time, which is what I have to focus on. I also know this is the last birthday party he's having. Last year we went to WDW for the long weekend, I'm wishing we did the same this weekend.

A couple boys in the group were loud and obnoxious. No matter how many times I asked them to respect the others in the restaurant or to lower their voices or to stay in their seats, they continued to act like little morons. I'm so glad that Cameron is not like that -- if I ever hear that he acts like that with a group of friends, we're going to have a long discussion.

One of the boys was invited to sleep over tonight -- Cameron's choice, thankfully (I really should thank him for that decision ;) ). Then all of the sudden driving home, it turns out that all the boys are thinking they are going home to pack their gear and head back over. Nicely, but firmly, i squashed that idea rather quickly -- as I'm not prepared to have several boys sleep over tonight. Or at least that was my excuse.

Cameron just asked if we could go see Open Season. I'm not sure if I have it in me anymore tonight -- I can just see me sleeping through the entire thing. Maybe I'm just use to little kids -- like my daycare who cooperate and have nice manners in public.

I haven't decided if we're going off to the show tonight or not. But, if the other boys decide to take it upon themselves to show up at the door for a sleepover, you can bet we'll be out the door in a flash. :)
Wow, what a day. I'm exhausted just reading about it (and thinking ahead 8 or 9 years.) Glad you survived it though.

Congrats to Cheryl on 2500 posts!

Long ago, I stopped saying "my friend that I met online" because of the looks that people would give me. So, now I just say "my friend who lives in ....." because then people accept it without giving me that look like "OMG, you met someone online that wasn't a serial killer".

I do remember going to my first DIS meet and being asked if I ever met anyone from online before. Nope, but I'm glad it went well and I've made friends that I'll see again this cruise as well as friends I have yet to meet in real life. :thumbsup2

I guarentee that I am NOT a serial killer!!

Oh I think we have all been there before. I feel your pain.
What is it with in-laws, is there some unwritten rule that they are required to drive you nuts!? :confused3

There are rare exceptions and i think your parents are part of that group. My Mom was as well. If she were still alive she'd love to be cruising with us and part of the group.

Finally caught up. We got our docs last night. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I can't believe that in two weeks from now we will be at Fantasmic. :goodvibes

The girls have their first real meet tomorrow. We have to be up at 5 AM to get there on time. I think I am going to be very tired tomorrow. Should be fun for them once they are really awake. I spent two hours today cleaning the inside of my car. I have no idea what was under the girls seats but it was really gross. :confused3
Congrats on the docs.

GOOD LUCK at the meet. :shamrock:

Good morning to all! Just got back from an evening at D'land and had to check in. Postings don't really stop when you walk away from the computer do they? The parks were crowded and the temp dropped a bit, but it was still a great evening.

Time to get all things lined up at work so the desk is cleaned with all projects put to bed before things get too crazed. One of my co-workers has been in the hospital for the past few weeks and with the length of time for her recuperation we're not sure when we'll see her back, so her work is being passed around. Gotta keep on top of a few more irons in the fire!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Michael

I have to take a minute to brag on my daughter's high school band. Today was their first competition of the year and they received all 1's across the board! They were so excited! This is only the second year our school has been open so we only have freshman-junior students. They work hard and it really paid off today! We'll find out on Monday if they were voted one of the top 5 bands of the day. We compete again next Saturday, then again on the Wednesday we are on the cruise. I hated that they scheduled the UIL competition that day, I guess someone forgot to call to check with me first
Congrats to your daughter's school band. What does she play?

Hmmmmm maybe us northerners should just leave for WDW a week early!
::yes:: We'd have an extra week to "play" together.

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Birthday Cameron party: party: party:

Congrats to 2500 Cheryl :cheer2:

Going out to Mom's to try on pirate costumes and take Mom and Dad out to dinner. Mom has been working hard on our costumes so she deserves a dinner out!

My parents like to tag along when we cruise. I am excited that they are staying home this time. Am I bad? ;)

OK, so I think that officially leaves me, Amy and Erin as the last people on the cruise to not receive their docs!! :furious:
We haven't received ours either! I'm really getting nervous now since we're leaving in 6 days. :earseek:
