JUST AN FYI...The pirate party has been changed in the format from when we last cruised. The music and such started around 9:30 p.m. however, the party continued for over 45 minutes before the actual "show" began and then the fireworks started after the "show". The "show" is new from the one last year on the member's cruise. By the time the fireworks ended it was 10:30. Alot of the parents with very small children had a hard time keeping the little ones awake for almost an hour for the fireworks.

Yep, on the Magic in May it was a very different and much longer party from the one when we were on the '05 cruise, why I mentioned that.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, here's a few teasers(click on each for a bigger one!):

The 'Arielvision' LCD showing the logo for the pirate deck party.

Mickey invading the party!

And Our DJ Host from my May cruise(he has told us he'll be there for the Member Cruise),
the host with the most, DJ HOLLYWOOD!!!!

One small correction. Hollywood will be on the cruise staff for the Member Cruise but I don't think he's the DJ. We are going to make him a button however since he loved the one we gave him from the double scoop troupe.

Surprisingly the cups at the drink station are decent size, but the huge mugs will definitely be better.

Were your mugs from Ron Jons store or the Resort? Have you stayed at the Ron Jons Resort? It looks really nice.

They were from the store. We were thinking about staying there the night before the cruise until we decided to stay at BCV. The resort does look really nice.

Why do only the little ones get to take naps? Us older folks need our afternoon nap too.

Sure you can take one, I probably will at least try to sleep in. I do have a reason for saying that exactly. Let me tell you a little story from back at Member Homecoming.

Member Homecoming was, for anyone that doesn't know/remember, a three day at the parks DVC event to tie in with the official grand opening of Saratoga Springs. Someday, I will find time to get around to finishing that part of the website and I can just send you there about it. It was one night in Epcot after Illuminations, one night after the fireworks in MK, then the day at SSR.

Well, the first night at Epcot, fireworks don't even start till 9pm, so the real party really didn't get rolling till, after 10 at least. As they didn't let us out of the gathering area right sqaure between the two gift shops flanking the entrance to World Showcase till the park had been cleared. The very next day here on the Dis there was someone already saying how awful the first night was because his daughter didn't get to enjoy it, as she was nodding off after being on the go all day(I don't remember the exact wording, but he went into good detail all that his daughter had done that day, enough for even an adult to nod off after). So, it's Disney/DVC's fault somehow that this guy schlepped his kid all around all day wearing her out? I'm not even a parent and I can figure that one out.

Not that I'd think anyone here would do that, but that particular event sticks in my head now when there's a late night event involved.

Really? I thought he was. Well I hope whoever is, if it isn't him, is as good at it. He was awesome, and no not just with us, he was just great in general, hosting the deck parties, the main shows in the clubs and so on. I hope he has something to do with the entertainment side, he's wasted anyplace else.

Stacey said he's with the cruise staff and hosts some of the shows etc. so his personallity will still shine through he just isn't the DJ. I think he was DJ on the May cruise because Pikey was taking care of Ducky (at least that is what I heard after the fact).

We'll just have to wait and see but if you see Hollywood tell him you are from the DIS group. We all had a great time with him on our double scoop cruise!

Well, the USPS has come and gone and no giclee!! I know that they said that all members will receive them by 10/31, but I sure hope that it doesn't arrive while we're gone.

I'm still hopeful for UPS to bring my docs.

I've been frantically running around the house cleaning up and making things for Emily's party on Sunday afternoon. So, at least the time is passing quickly while I wait!!! Well, back to the grindstone!!!

And, I have to say that I'm glad that pirate night is Monday, because after a day on the beach, all of us will be tired enough to take a little nap before dinner.

Also looking forward to pirate night! We had a GREAT time in January, our table of 18 (yeah, that's another story!!! That group was as fun as this one!!!!) got together here on our cruise meet and we were all dressed for the evening. A most excellent time was had by all. Those of you who are wavering in packing another suitcase (or steamer trunk in our case!) for those extra costumes... DO IT!!!!!

Michael

Seriously, how can you just stick a pile of LL Bean catalogs in someone's mailbox!!! :furious:

Diana,

I get Scholastic magazines as the teachers in the schools do to order book. The catalog that comes is actually about 50 individual order forms and then 1 main order form. Keep in mind that I only need 1 copy of any of those forms, yet I get the entire catalog.

As if that isn't enough, I sometimes get 2 copies of the catalogs.

And, if that's not enough, I get the preschool, toddler, kindergarten, 1st grade and 5th & 6th grade version. Mulitply that out and sometimes I get 1-12 catalogs. They must do their mailings in bulk because fortunately, I have yet to receive all of them on the same day. :faint:

My letter carrier always tells me that he doesn't have to worry about losing his job as long as I'm on his route. Between the catalogs I get and the shipping I've done last year from selling on ebay, I'm thinking the post office could assign a carrier to just cover my house. ;)

:dance3: I'm doing the document dance with you Cindy!! We just got ours too!! :dance3:

Still no giclee, :artist: but that's okay because we'll have our mail held at the post office while we're gone, so even if it rains, it will stay nice and dry!

Hey Squid!

What's the view like out the back of the firehouse. If you relocated to St. Lucia and lived in the city of Dennery it would look something like this!

I sure wouldnt get much Fire fighting done with that view!
