I do not often brag about myself. It just isnt me. So even though many of you know I am on a fire dept I dont often talk about rank. I have been a captain for nearly 15 years. Until tonight.................

Steve - does your uniform change now??? I am not sure how that works for the fire department.

I get some different pins and a different badge, and there will be another stripe on the sleeves. I will post a pic later after all the new stuff comes in.

Cool, I thought the new mattresses weren't going to be there until drydock. It sounds like they have already been replaced - should make for nice sleeping on the 11 night cruise. Who am I kidding - I could sleep on a rock and be happy, as long as I'm on the ship.

The improvements to the adult pool sound neat. Waiters bringing salads and wraps, more of a spa feel - what a life.

Not that it affects me, but it's nice that they will give the non potty trained group a better swim area.

Squid inspired me to take a picture of what is probably going to be the last harvest from the garden. I have a lot more green tomatoes on there, but they'll probably not be red before the frost that I'm guessing will be here sooner than later. There's one more eggplant and a bunch more green peppers and then that's it. Not bad for my first garden!

Wow I am an inspiration! It looks very tasty too.

Actually it is filled with pipe tobacco! He likes a flavor from a mail place in Tenn. So I get him that for ALL his presents.

Our back to school picnic was tonight. It was supposed to end at 7:30 and I finally left around 8:00. Too much chatting. Can you imagine!

Congrats on getting to be Super-Camping-Chaperone!!
A friend of mine that moved up to your area in NY called today after her kids first day at a new school. Her second grader was not on the bus when it got to her house! She went to school and there he was in the office! He didn't hear his bus called to leave the classroom plus this schools' dismissal is completely different from his old school. Wouldn't you think that SOMEONE would double check who is on what bus (aa teacher, a bus driver)- especially on the first day of school!?!! Luckily, he doesn't seem too scarred from this, but sheesh.

That is a little crazy that he wasn't on the bus. At the elementary school my son went to they have children who walk home or are getting picked up by a parents leave first, then the teachers walk the younger kids out to the busses and the busses don't leave until they get the ok from the school that everyone is out.

Matt and I became friends at a very low point for me. I was engaged before and the guy (and let's use that term loosely) called it off 31 days prior ON THE PHONE! I was also married before and my husband passed away 4 months after we were married so I consider it a true blessing to have found Matt. The RF song came out while Matt and I were getting to know each other and it's always made me think of us.

Ok now that I wiped the tears from my eyes. That's a perfect song. I have never heard it (I'm more a rock/metal girl) but I will have to borrow the cd from my friend and listen to it now.
