Georgie - thanks for sharing with us your insider information. You know this group we love hearing about anything special. I think you are right that we will be wowed with the event itself. Some of us were just disappointed that they couldn't tell us basic info like are we doing a photo shoot and when (so that plans can be made for doing other things on CC). Also whether or not they were doing anything the night before (again so plans could be made).

Yes, this is where we are going today! I HATE the Big Cheese! DD LOVES it! What is a Mom to do?:rotfl:

The only saving grace is that the pizza is pretty good. :)

I was so busy watching Ernesto and worrying about Grandpa that I neglected to notice John is about to hit Mexico. My Dad, stepmother and sister left Sunday for a week vacation there. Last year there trip was cancelled because of a hurricane, now this year it looks like they are gonna get hit. :sad2:

Diana, I hope your family is safe. Can you call the hotel/place they are staying to check on them? pixiedust:

Oh Mary! You know me... I am the planner of planners too (like everyone else!!!)

The suspense is killing me too. Right now, with all that's been happening here at home, I'll be content to pack some Disney T-shirts, shirts, clean underwear, my toothbrush, a swim suit, a camera, and I'll be set!!! :thumbsup2

Oh No! I didn't want to open wounds! Band-aids for all!!! :rotfl2:

Georgie, your question certainly didn't open any wounds. I was just wondering myself the other day, but chose not to go there again.

Some things I would have liked to see diffferently --- such as being able to book a package on Castaway Caye --- I know my kids well enough to know they are going to do things both days, not just once and it would have been niced to been offered a discount on that.

I'm glad you talked to someone involved --- even better than it helped you to decide to join us.

I have been a strong supporter of DVC and these events. I hope I can continue after this cruise.

For those who haven't gotten their emails yet..

The third edition of S.S. Member Cruise 2006 Cruise News has sailed your way! In this edition, we'll talk with the leader of Disney Vacation Club about why he's looking forward to our journey, share more about our voyage's daily themes, and give you the inside scoop on a swashbuckling Guest Speaker who'll be joining us onboard the Disney Wonder®.

Making your day
If you sailed aboard the S.S. Member Cruise last year, you know that part of what makes our event so special is the unique daily themes. This year, we'll be "Celebrating Disney Milestones," with each day dedicated to celebrating a different part of the Disney magic.

Disney Vacation Club
The first day of our cruise will celebrate milestones that hit close to "home"—Disney Vacation Club milestones, of course! Get ready to enjoy an all-day birthday party once you're onboard, starting with the festive "birthday gifts" you'll discover in your stateroom. Then, search for hidden Disney Vacation Club references that we've placed around the ship, or just relax and reminisce with family and friends as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of our community.

Disney Movies
This is a banner year for Disney Movies, including both the anniversaries of classic Disney films and the debuts of new favorites like Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. For Day 2, we'll roll out the red carpet to celebrate some of our favorite Disney Movies, with Guest Speakers and a live performance of "The Golden Mickeys" providing the lights, camera, and action. Also, be sure to pack your best buccaneer attire for a rowdy pirate-themed party!

Disney Animation
We've sketched out several exclusive events for our day at sea, as we look back on the rich history of Disney Animation. As part of our celebration of animation milestones, you can take part in fun onboard activities, enjoy extraordinary themed drinks, and hear from Guest Speakers who have helped to create animated Disney characters. You may even be able to meet a world-renowned Disney Character Artist—a Guest who will be revealed in the coming weeks!

Disney Music
Whether you prefer to wish upon a star or sing along to "Hakuna Matata," you'll love Day 4 of our journey, a celebration of classic Disney Music. Start your day on a high note by joining your friends and neighbors for a Member Group Photo on Castaway Cay. And at night, don't miss your chance to experience a one-of-a-kind musical performance that will honor beloved Disney songs from the past and present.

Looking back with Jim Lewis
Members aren't the only ones excited about our upcoming cruise. The S.S. Member Cruise also has become a cherished tradition for Jim Lewis, President of Disney Vacation Club. Jim says he's particularly excited about this year's theme, "Celebrating Disney Milestones."

"We often hear how Disney Vacation Club has helped Members add a bit of magic to family milestones, so we looked at our 15th anniversary as a terrific opportunity to celebrate this Member milestone as a community, along with other great moments in Disney history," Jim says. "Disney milestones hold special places in the hearts of fans around the world, and I'm looking forward to celebrating these moments with the most passionate Disney fans on earth."

Join Jim for an exclusive event during our voyage, where he'll talk more about Disney milestones and look back at some of his favorite Disney moments.

Read up me hearties, yo ho
To help us celebrate during the S.S. Member Cruise 2006, we've invited some exciting Guest Speakers to come aboard. We're especially pleased to welcome Jason Surrell, a Disney Imagineer who wrote the book on pirates—literally!

As a show writer for Walt Disney Imagineering, Jason brings an insider's perspective to his book Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies, an in-depth look at the beloved attraction and film franchise. While writing the book, Jason had behind-the-scenes access to the Disney Theme Parks, explored the Disney Archives, and visited the Pirates of the Caribbean movie sets during production. Dead men tell no tales—but we're sure Jason will bring a number of stories to enlighten and entertain any Disney fan.

Jason also will appear for book signings during the cruise, so be sure to pack your copy of Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies.

Full speed ahead
As our voyage approaches, keep an eye out for more editions of S.S. Member Cruise 2006 Cruise News. In upcoming editions, we'll talk with other celebrity Guests and give you a sneak peek of more special onboard activities!

See you real soon,
Your Disney Vacation Club Family

To add to what Cheryl just posted, this is noted at the bottom. Looks like we are having Pirate Night! :jumping1:
