I think DD and I are either bowling today or going to Chuck E Cheese. I am letting her pick something each day this week because school starts on Tuesday!:teacher:

COOL! There's gonna be entertainment on the bus!! :cool1:

We went to Chuck E Cheese yesterday. VERY Crowded. :scared:

Nope, they didn't steal anything, but they did damage some things getting them down. Since I wasn't tall enough to reach the ceiling, I asked a very tall DIS teen (the one who organized the magnets on the ceiling incident to begin with) to get them down FOR me. Well, his pre-teen co-hort (who is about 7 inches SHORTER than me) jumps up, crumples a magnet in her hand, and falls back to the ground. Uh....duh, I could have done THAT!! The point was get them back down and looking EXACTLY the same as when I put them up. Don't mind a joke, but I did tell them in no uncertain terms that while it was funny, I didn't want it happening again. Told them the room steward wasn't appreciative of the "mess." Which was true. He couldn't believe my FRIENDS did that. He said "bet they aren't your friends anymore!" HA!

Now, we DID get things stolen, but as far as I know it wasn't from the DIS teens. One thing we did spot on another door (it was a very unique item) and we stole it back and put it on the INSIDE of our door.

I'm still working on it!! Whew, it's a HUGE project. I've found SO many things that I am getting rid of, like old papers that are SO out of date. But, luckily, my MIL has been scrapbooking with Emily, so I'm going to send all my old stuff to my MILs this weekend, when Emily spends the weekend with her. Then, Emily can go to town with her grandma and scrapbook.
Great idea. I'd love to see some of Emily's creations. I bet they're great. :)

I'm thinking about donating lots of my old stuff to Ian's school when I move into my new room - if it ever gets finished. With 17 classes of 4yo and younger, I'm sure they'll find some use for it.

We actually had a close call once. While we were on vacation, it had been really dry at home and the grass in our neighbor's back yard caught fire. (I don't remember how it started.) Anyway, it happened at night and our neighbor across the street didn't know we were gone and she told us later that she kept pounding on our door trying to wake us up. The fire dept. :firefight hosed down our garage to keep the fire from spreading and nothing was harmed. It did knock out our power though, and the show that I had set the VCR for didn't record. In the grand scheme of things, that was minor though. And no damage was done to my neighbor's house either, her yard just got singed.

That was a close call, Mary.

I'm figuring that enough of our neighbors know how to get in touch with us if there were a problem that we'd get a phone call.

After all, my next door neighbor did send out the police to check on the woman sitting on my driveway when we were in Hilton Head. Turned out it was my St. of IL food program rep for the daycare. Ooops, I forgot to call saying we were out of town and they decided to make one of their surprises visit and when I wasn't home, decided to wait. Guess the surprise was on her that day. :rotfl2:

Okay Guys... HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

I know I'm a late commer being taken from the wait list, but now, I'm getting nervous! ;)

Have there been any news letters sent out about this cruise? :confused3 Last year we had regular updates. The only thing I've received in the mail has been the excursion list for CC.

Does anyone know for sure that we'll have a pirate night? pirate: Should we plan on that and pack our "outfits"?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO!!! :wave2:

The one thing I can share is, we heard through the grapevine that there are some pretty cool stateroom surprises planned for us... :wizard:

Sadly, Georgie, this has been a sore point with some of us. I love the idea of surprises, but I very disappointed in the lack of information we've received from DVC about the cruise. In fact, a while back, prior to the August email coming out, a number of us emailed DVC asking for information and didn't get very personal touches. Personally, for me, it's left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I certainly hope the team working on this cruise pulls it all together and it's spectacular. I don't expect or want it to be the same as the last Member Cruise, but I do expect it to supercede any of the regular 3,4, or 7 day cruises.

Sadly, I have my doubts. :(

Georgie--Since booking last December, we've received exactly TWO emails from DVC about the cruise. The first one was right after we booked. The last one we just got on August 3rd I believe. It said a whole bunch of nothing and was even outdated because it talked about getting ready to book shore excursions (that we did like 2 weeks before). But at least it was something.

No official word on pirate night, or any other themed nights. But it did say there will be SSMC06 merchandise for sale onboard but not preordered like last year. That was disappointing to some (ME) because I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into the sleep in the hallway and beat people up to get the stuff in the store like other cruisers have experienced. BUT--since I go to kickboxing class, I've volunteered to beat off the crowd so we can get what we want onboard instead of having to buy it on ebay from the sharks! :rotfl:

Come and find me! We'll stand in line together!!! :yay: I love the idea of being next to a kick boxer! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Curt!

Yes we had a tall male teen on the May cruise who loved messing with magnets and putting them on the ceiling. We had two of them on the 10 day cruise. :lmao:

Oh No! I didn't want to open wounds! Band-aids for all!!! :rotfl2:

Seriously... Linda + I have heard GREAT things about the surprises coming our way on this cruise.

Joe + I + Linda (seaulater) all went to the Pirates of the Carribean pirate: pirate: premiere event at the Disney Store in NYC and bumped into (literally) the gal who designs for the special cruises. She was so excited about the Member Cruise, she couldn't stand it. :wizard: I was hoping she would let the cat out of the bag, but she kept her lips sealed as to the details.

Just to give you an idea about how detailed this gal is, the special gift to those attending the POC pirate: event was a miniature Davy Jone's locker (trunk) with a commemorative silver coin from the event. The trunk was a replica to a "T". We saw her again after the showing of the movie. She stopped us and had us open the gift. Of course there were many ooohs + aaahs, laughs and hugs. She reminded us again about the member cruise.

It was that meeting which made Joe + me actively pursue getting off that wait list! :yay:

I have NO DOUBT that this will be a great event.

Thanks to all who shared their "no news" I think, in this case... no news is good news! :woohoo:
