Hey Gang!

I want to thank everyone for all of the birthday well-wishes! Even though I haven't been around lately, you fine folk still took a few minutes out of your day for me. It was greatly appreciated, and it put a smile on my face.

Those aforementioned well-wishes must have truly had some magic behind them , because I had quite possibly the best birthday ever. No super-spectacular events, just lots of perfect little things: Wishes from many friends, a cookie "bouquet" from my sister (Oatmeal! Yum!), beautiful weather, a Tigers game with my two favorite men (Curt and my Dad, who happened to instill my intense love of the game), a Tigers win, and lastly, ice cream (Dad's treat ) after the game. I couldn't have scripted a better day if I had tried...

My Dis name is for two of my cats: Gus-Gus is now in kitty heaven , but Figaro is still with me (and I say "me", because for some reason, he doesn't like Curt... )

To finish off this post -
I'm really sorry that I haven't been on the Boards lately. I've been struggling with a couple of chronic illnesses (One is Tigers Fever, the other is a bit more serious), and they have made me somewhat reclusive. Most days, I just don't have enough "Happy" to jump into the fray. It's a good thing my beloved is so hard to keep quiet now , or I'd be completely out of the loop! I sure have enjoyed meeting a bunch of you over the last couple of months at our mini-meets, though! Those little parties have been a few of my highlights this Summer!

I hope that everyone is doing well. I haven't forgotten about my friends, I just haven't had it in me to keep up with all of you. Hopefully, you'll all understand, and forgive...

Oh Karen - you almost made me cry!! No need to apologize, we're here for you if you need us!! And more importantly, we'll see you in just 8 weeks.

I'm glad to hear that you had a WONDERful birthday. Take care of yourself and pop in when you feel up to it!!!

When I first got online I had a small woodworking buisness called Fireplug Creations. I used fireplug as a name on a few different boards. However lack of time and a couple surgeries on my right arm curtailed the woodworking . But I have lots of posts here under fireplug and dont want to switch to cap10squid, my other online alias, any time soon.

Hopefully the rain holds off today. We are headed to the 1 PM Tigers game and then we have a Soccer Team Pool Party in the evening.

I am so happy that we don't leave for FLA until the 19th!

I just found out today that Barbara Streisand is coming to Toronto!

Lucky for me, she will be here on October 17th!

I have always wanted to see her live!

October is gonna be a great month!
