We leave to come home on Oct 1 and come back on Oct 20. I tried to talk John into letting me stay the 19 days - he said it was cheaper to pay for an extra airfare for me than to leave me alone at WDW for that long

On other notes we have got our seats for the October trip down and paid for. $117 r/t on Northwest (call us eternal optimists) Now all we have to do is arrange one more night of a roof over our heads and we will be set. The costumes are accessable the luggage is close and we are SO READY for this to happen.

Our kids are starting late this year. They don't go back until the Tuesday after Labor Day. Of course they won't get out until June 15 either.

Hope Cameron and Walker have a good first day!

Same with us. This is our usual school schedule. Our weather does not start getting nice until 1st week of July so this way the kids get some sunshine while on summer break.

Great news! Or not so great news, depending how you look at it. I just got DINGed $49 for my airfare home and booked which makes my roundtrip $99 for October!! The good news is I don't have to pay the $122 one way fare that they've been having all this time, the bad news is I have to go back home to NY!

I'm pm'd a few of you. I can't find Stacy's work number and I need to call her so she can book. If any of you have it can you pm me?? Thanks!!

Getting the kids to school went off without a hitch. Walker had a few smiles in line waiting to go inside but he did look a tad nervous. And little! I'm anxious to hear how their first day went and whether they are going to rebel against school tomorrow. Hopefully they are having awesome first days. They'll be home in another 1 1/2 hours as it's early release Wednesday.


The daycare kids are all sleeping and it's so quiet in the house.

Hey Gang,

While on the subject of October travels I/we would like your opinion on something.

Karen and I purchased our airfare for the October trip, ($115 r/t) we'll be getting in on the 20th and leaving on the 31st. Our original plan was to stay at OKW, on points, the 21st thru 30th. But due to great airfare and my work schedule changing we added a day on each end of the trip. This poses a small problem.

Should we stay on cash @ OWK for two nights ($500) or eat 13 UNBANKABLE points (we borrowed from 07 to book the cruise) and stay at a value resort (at AP rates) and spend just over $100?

We know that you can rent point to/from other DVCers but we're concerned that we will be unable to rent the six points we need to stay OKW the entire time or the practicality of renting out the 13 points that would be otherwise wasted.

Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

Did anyone else get the $75 off dues if you became a disney visa holder?

I grabbed that offer! We'll move one of our cards around to do it but I couldn't believe it!

Only do the $500 at OKW if you don't want to swap hotels etc..

Make sure that the AP rate resort you want to stay at is available. (

As for renting out the 13 points, you could do that, it would only get someone 1 day so nor very far. As for getting a transfer of 6 points thats possible but you might not get OKW. Make sure you get enough points so that you'd be covered at any of the DVC resorts.

Congrats on the great Ding fare, Diana. I do miss the ALB-MCO bargains. I'm looking at $115 one way home on Air Tran on 10/29 (with a stop in Atlanta)
