Yummy!!

I love the colander. I half expected to see a hidden Mickey in your veggies and then caught the one on the colander. Very cute!

Your garden must have an over abundance of veggies is that's one days harvest. Sadly, ours didn't do well at all this year. :(

Our garden didn't do that well this year either. :guilty: I have to say the chipmunks did eat their fair share of grape tomatoes though. :furious:

I actually have the same colander in white.....I love it!

I finally ordered our shirts and MNSSHP tickets today and put our information for ME.

I did both on Saturday (I think it was Saturday, it's been a long weekend). We should be getting our shirts in the next week or so. The tickets as well.

As for the meeting place for the MNSSHP, I know we talked about maybe meeting closer to LTT as that seems to be where a lot of people are having dinner. Personally, I can't see walking back to the flag pole at the beginning of the park, as loads of people are coming in. We just might plan to go with the flow of the evening and see where the kids take us instead.

Thanks for all the compliment on the pages. I appreciate them very much. Coleen tells me all the time that they are nice but I need to get some outside opinions once in a while too.

I have been sorting through stuff today and I dont think I will buy any more stickers for a while. (unless they have some WAY COOL ones on the ship or at WDW  )

Squid

I love your pages!! I agree with you, compliments from "outsiders" are always better than the one you get from home!

And there's no so thing as TOO many scrapbooking supplies. ;)

I think most of us have ADR's for LTT at around 4:30ish. I thought we talked about meeting at the Liberty Bell (instead of flag pole) because of the proximity of where we are dining. I would think a meet at around 6:00 pm at the Liberty Bell would make more sense. Anyone else?

Guess I should have read a little farther.

Mary and Mark - thanks so much for all of the work you have done. The new magnet looks great!

Regarding MNSSHP - we haven't made any dinner ressies yet so I'm not sure if we'll be eating at LTT. Even if we don't we'll meet up with everyone for dinner we'll see you at the Liberty Bell at 6pm (or whichever location fits into everyone's plans).

Roxann - glad to hear your DD is okay.

Steve - the scrapbook pages came out very nice.

:bday: Chris! party:

MaryJ - hope your neck and back feel better. That's one of the reasons I don't like that type of roller coaster. Too many chances of injuries!

Diana and Amy,
I just had an idea while looking at the altered paint cans. It would be cool to have a paint can done up like a disneycruise ship smoke stack and then be able to use it to hold trip mementos. Could you lead us in what we would need to do to make this?

What a good idea and welcome back!

Cindy - I don't blame you for being upset. That would not be fair if every child gets te same credit.

Diana Lyn said:
That would be super easy to do Ilene! They sell the clean/empty paint cans at the Home Depot and Lowes. The quart sized are under $2 and the gallon a little over $3 I believe. All you would need to do is cut red cardstock to size and glue it to the can all the way around. The seams are the hardest part, and with solid color paper, it's easy. I used a good strong glue stick on mine, but I've red modge podge works really well. Then all you would need to do is cut a Mickey head in white. I have a large sized Mickey punch that I can always cut some Mickeys and put in the mail to anyone who would like some. And then cut some waves in blue. If you used a gallon size--you can get either Mickey fabric or red, white and blue ribbons and tie around the handle. The quart size cans don't have handles, but you can just decorate the top with the same paper as the can itself.

Great idea---I was just at the Home Depot tonight! Now I'll have to go out and get another paint can!

Diana - you make it sound so easy!

Actually, I have an empty gallon paint can from this weekend. We reorganized our master closet and painted the walls. Tom doubled my closet space by adding more bars and closet organizers. It came out really nice! So now I just need to get the red paper and other accessories and I can make a paint can/smoke stack too!

Cameron didn't grumble once!! I was very proud of him. :thumbsup2

I was doing my share, though :(

But....I had a good reason, at least I think.

On our side of the street, we had 1 dad and his son, me & Cameron & 3 boys without parents. So, we started cleaning along the parade, and at first the 3 boys and Cameron tried to stay ahead of the street sweeper. Cameron ended up coming back, and the 3 boys who were not with any parents, took off ahead of the group. They had no bags to collect any garbage and never came back to help. So, it was me & Cameron, this other dad and his son (who has some type of problem and while he never grumbled, his Dad was doing more than his share to compensate for his son's lack of effort. This didn't bother me at all, as I knew there was a true reason why he wasn't helping)

But the 3 boys who took off, I had a huge problem with. I didn't have "sucker" written across my face today. I was there to help my kid, not babysit for the others in the group who 1-didn't want to help, and 2-didn't bother to help.

After the 4 of us were done, we went to chat with the scoutmaster. As we're waiting to talk to him, one of the Mom's of the boys who took off came up to me and asked me "if I had fun out there". :furious: Ummm, yeah, it was a barrel of laughs. :furious: So the Dad and I that did the majority of the work, talked to the scoutmaster who told us we should have kept the boys with us. Ummm, excuse me? I wasn't there to babysit other peoples children today. :furious: I was there to help my kid and the troop.

I'm still rather upset by all of this, because the 3 boys who put in minimal effort will get the same credit as the boys who truly did their share. I just don't agree with that and I still have a call into the scoutmaster. I want to know what exactly is expected (especially since I'm only a parent and not in a leader position whatsoever in Boy Scouts), so I know next time whether or not Cameron will be volunteering on his own or with either me or Gary. And, it bothers me that I even have the need to think about something like that at all. I don't mind helping out, I don't mind my children helping out, but I don't want to do more than my share because someone else doesn't want to do their share, yet they still get full credit. :(

That really stinks about those three boys.
Luckily Our troop is smaller and all the boys are pretty good. If one sort of "strays" from the activity at hand and their parent isn't there it just takes on of the other parents or scoutmaster to just say there name and maybe give them a look and they get back to the task at hand.

Their is only one boy who can ba an issue and that is even when his father is there with him. I hate to say it by he is a cry baby literally and the parents let him get away with stuff. I hate to say it but I'm waiting for this kid to get picked on at school or someplace by and older kid or maybe get knocked on his butt if you know what I mean.

Well it took me a couple of hours to catch up but I did :thumbsup2
Had a wonderful weekend even in the rain. It dampened our group campfires a bit but not our fun. The only drawback was I had to re-set up our pop up when we got home because it's still wet.:sad2:

Diana, thanks for those seemingly simple instructions, what kind of paper do I get? What kind of glue won't leave marks on the "right" side. I'm thinking to do it in black, yellow, red, white and blue. I'd love a crisp cut mickey if you could pop one in the mail to me and it wouldn't get ruined. This could be lots of fun.

Squid...AMAZING pages...I'm so envious. I've tons of albums with years of disney vacation pictures but your one album tells the story so well.

Cindy, sure hope your mom feels better soon. Sounds painful.

Mary, take care of that neck pain..good girl for putting ice on it right away!

To Funny Mary!!!

Well - it doesn't look like we are going to get to 1,000 pages tonight but then again you never know! There are several people who like to :chat: - lol

But I'm sure by tomorrow evening there will be plenty of :hyper2: going on and we will surpass 1,000 pages. We could even get to 15,000 posts too!

The long weekend is coming to an end and SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW :Pinkbounc . My baby will start Junior High this year.

I told Deanna and her friend that I would be willing to walk them to the bus stop and wait until the bus got there, but they weren't too receptive to the idea :confused3

Oh Cindy! That's just not fair!! I don't even want to think about those types of things yet, but I'm sure that my day is coming!!

It goes to that old saying that 10% of the people do 90% of the work.

Ok, now THAT is funny!!!

culd de sac got together and did a community grill dinner tonight. Kind of a last hurray for the kids. DD is in bed and very excited for school tomorrow. We will walk because the first day is VERY busy!

I am sad that summer is almost over. I have a few temp. jobs set up starting next week. I am kind of sad about that too!;)

Another glass of wine will take care of me tonight:drinking1

Funny you should ask as that was something I was working on yesterday. Problem is that if you try to make it bigger at all it gets very pixelated. So then I thought back to the little mini-magnets that we made for everyone last year. Here's what I came up with:

dvclabel.jpg

Size will be about 2 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall. There will be one magnet in each families button bag.

If anyone wants to grab the image in its original size just grab the one out of my signature by right clicking and doing save as.

Cool! :cool1:

:rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We were actually trying to see what size my crocs are, in the dark no less!! But since I've worn them a lot, the sizing has worn off. So, it became like a challenge, we even tried taking a picture to see if the size would show up on them that way and I think that's when Gary stuck it in front of his face. I just might have to learn to use edit photos. What did you use again?

Looking at them now, they are W8 M6. Mary, what size are the ones you have that you can't wear because of your ankle? Maybe we can work out a deal.

I thought we were going to have to bribe Cameron to be allowed to do it this year. For several years now, he hasn't wanted me at the bus stop or school on the first day. This year I had to convince him that although he didn't want or need me there, that maybe Walker would like his parents there for HIS first day of school.

Good luck, Deanna, on your first day of Jr high. pixiedust:

Stacy, isn't Nick starting today also? pixiedust:

Good luck to all the late starters. pixiedust:
