:flower1: :flower: :flower1: Happy Birthday Karen!!! :flower1: :flower: :flower1:

And my user name falls in the 'obvious' category too!! I am always dreaming that I am at my home away from home, OKW!

Also, thank you for the heads up on the trip insurance ending today! I have been putting it off because we have never cruised and I feel like I don't have any idea what I am doing. Guess I will figure it out one way or the other today!!

I have a GTKYFKK Question ----

How did you decide on your DIS user id --- some kind of obvious but others aren't. So, I'm curious, how did you pick yours? Was it your first choice? Does it have any meaning?

Scratch comes from High School and I added the 42 because that was my age at time of joining!

In High School I was the very first to have a "Scratch and Sniff" T! Luckily it wasn't Sniff that stuck! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

As for insurance, I have coverage thru work as far as medical and travel insurance. The owners of the company are avid travellers and made sure it was superior! I ususally buy extra with a regular cruise but since this time I used 1/2 points and 1/2 cash, wasn't sure how it would work.

And since Travelguard is what DVC uses and we are inside the 75 day mark and cannot get the insurance, I won't worry about it.

No cruise insurance for me either!! I don't know, should I, shouldn't I???? We've never bought it in the past, and we're go-with-the-flow people. So, unless something happens on the cruise, I'm not concerned about hurricanes, weather, etc. Decisions, decisions?!!??!

We always get trip insurance because of Patrick, who knows what will happen to him? But, something could happen to any of us, after all, I am the one who broke both elbows, my right wrist and sprained the other one in March, right?

I didn't give my DIS name much thought. Both my husband and I have C for our first initial, and the last name is Quick, so......also we use cquick as our email address, too.

if I had to do it all over again, I would try to choose something more inventive! Oh, well, that's the way the ball bounces!:Pinkbounc

My name is because I absolutely love Tinkerbell...and for my email it was taken, so I used tinkerbelle77, and now it has stuck. The 77 is for the year I was born in.

oh, my, Tinkerbelle! You are the same age as my oldest son! Boy, does that date me or what!

That makes me feel old too! I was graduating from High School the year she was born. :scared1:

So am I the first one to post on page 900?

(Darn, guessed I misjudged :)

As far as the insurance, I don't plan to need it, but the reality is I have 4 children and 2 elderly parents. If anything happened and I needed to cancel the insurance would at least cover the financial burden of cancelling the trip. I have also contacted my health insurance company. They have told me that if I needed medical coverage outside of the US that they would reimburse me, but I was responsible for paying the medical facility directly and more than likely at the time of service.

This cruise we only purchased my dd's portion on points. I will use my actual cost & maintenance per point (not the $10 or $12 going rate) multiply that by the # of points used and use that figure as what I paid for the cruise. I guess I could check to see what the rate was if we had paid cash for her and use that too. Our cruise in December I purchased the insurance about 2 weeks before the cruise.

Take into account if you have a pre-existing condition you need to buy your insurance within a specified amount of time from the date you booked your cruise - 14 days comes to mind, but it might differ with each company.
Truthfully, I think it's a racket but I'm sure the first time I need the insurance I'll be glad I had it. The $100 it costs for the insurance is easier to loose than the $2000 we paid for the cruise.

Mine is totally boring, just my initials. I'd love to change it to more fun, but it's certainly not necessary or a priority.

Don't know if we have insurance for the cruise. I let David take care of all the arrangements for this trip, so I'm not even sure what ADRs we have. But I'm assuming since we've had the insurance in the past that we have it now, more than likely through TravelGuard.

Thanks Diana. I called Member Services to ask if airlifting was covered and she said the same thing you did, depends on the policy. She also said we can't buy insurance through Travelguard anymore because we are already in the penalty period, 75 days or less from sailing.

I called Travelguard as well today and the person I spoke to couldn't even tell me when the penalty period began. So, I'm glad to hear you had a confirmation on this and that they aren't an option being we are within that timeframe already.

FWIW, we paid cash for this cruise and they quoted me just a little over $200 for a policy. Reading here, it seems like there are better options still available.

It actually started as Jeff's user name and I just sort of took it over!!
We are Stitch Lovers in this house.
I actually cried the first time I saw Lilo & Stitch.

I should have known that. I remember the days when we use to ask in chat whether it was Stacy or Jeff on the other end. :rotfl2: And, another night that Jeff, Lisa and I had a conversation about what we were going to allow the three muskateers to do and what they were not going to be allowed to do.

I'm almost right there with you, Gail. :sad1: I graduated a couple years behind you.

You know what that translates to, don't you. I'm old enough now to have kids in college. It really blows me away when my friends grandkids are the same age as my own children. Not so much Cameron, but definately Walker. Which translates to even worse --- I'm really old enough to be a grandma too! :scared1:

Just where did these years go? I guess I lost them with the rest of my mind. :rotfl2:

The kids are both in bed and sleeping. Tomorrow is the first day of school around here. :sad1:

Backpacks are packed, clothes are picked out, Walker's clean as a whistle, Cameron will shower in the morning, lunches are packed. They are all ready to go.

It's going to be crazy around here in the morning. Gary's staying home to see the kids on the bus, I'll take the rest of the ankle biters up to the school to meet the bus and make sure Walker gets to his line. I don't feel it's fair to put all the responsibility on Cameron -- besides, Gary & I want to share in Walker's first day of big kid school.

We did tell Cameron that he has to make sure Walker gets off when the bus stops at our stop tomorrow afternoon. No leaving his little brother behind -- to tour the town even though Cameron might enjoy Walker being missing for a little while. Surprised as I was, I already heard Walker tonight say he didn't want to ride the bus -- that he wanted Mom to drive him. So, it could be a rocky start in the morning -- I'll be glad I'm already at the school so I don't have to walk Walker onto the bus, kicking and screaming!

I remember that night. We had left work early snd I went to a friend's house for "Girl's Night" and I got home at 1am (EST) and you and Lisa were still chit chatting with Jeff setting down the boys ground rules.

Good morning everyone!! I see that we're on page 900. I don't see us taking that long to get to page 1,000. :thumbsup2

I hope that Cameron & Walker's first day at school goes without a hitch, Cindy!! It should be interesting next year when Emily goes to Kindergarten, since it will most likely be a different school. She keeps talking about how she gets to go to the "big" school soon, but I'm not sure how she'll feel when she actually gets there.

No big plans for us today. I'm up early because Chris has a volunteer breakfast at the high school where he volunteers, so since we still only have one car, we all have to be up early. Then, I'm taking the girls for mommy's day out and we'll go to breakfast at Chick-fil-A, then bring Emily to school. Then, a visit to the dentist's office for a routine cleaning and back home again. Busy morning, but not much after that. Emily does have choir practice tonight, but daddy's going to take her.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!!

Good morning everyone!

Cindy - pixie dust for Walker and Cameron as they start the first day of school! I hope they both have a great year ahead!

Morning friends!

Cindy -I hope Walker and Cameron have a great first day of school!

Emma's first day of preschool is September 18th. She'll be graduating HS before I know it.

Busy day here today. We're heading out to gym class at 9:45, then I have a few last minute errands to run, bank, grocery store so Bruce and the kids don't starve, or worse, he tries to take them to the grocery store. :scared1: Then I have to finish packing. My ride is picking me up a little after 4am tomorrow, and I'm already tired just thinking about getting up that early!! But I'll be in FL by 10am, so it'll all be worth it! :cool1:

Our kids are starting late this year. They don't go back until the Tuesday after Labor Day. Of course they won't get out until June 15 either.

Hope Cameron and Walker have a good first day!

Knowing you will be in Florida by 10 am makes getting up at 4 am a breeze. Of course it's not like you will really get any sleep because I'm sure "You'll be to excited to sleep"!
