Is anyone else on the Ghiradelli email list? I just got an email from them and it had a coupon for $1 any specialty sundae, through 10/31. If anyone wants one, let me know.

No, we just buy the basic Coach package that has hair & makeup. There are Photopass photographers there taking their pictures while they are getting made-up. Then, you can bring them over to the "scrapbook" store in Downtown Disney and they have a little photo studio where they take pictures too. Then, those go on your photopass too. Last time, we had combined a WHOLE bunch of pictures from a couple trips on our photopass and we just purchased it on CD for $99. But, you can just buy individual photos too.

How did you like the photopass cd?
I've read different things about it on the threads but was curious for your opinion. I was thinking of hitting EVERY disney photographer on this trip to get tons of pics and getting the cd.

I didn't know they had one.
I'd love a coupon please.

For the double scoop cruise we had a Flat Stanley....but he wasn't flat and he wasn't a Stanely. Actually, since it was a "double scoop" cruise, Mark and Mary let us borrow their ice cream scoop stuffed animal. One of the tweens in the group acted as the official travel agent and sent Scoopie on his way. He toured the country over the course of the year.....including SEVERAL cruises! :) People took pictures of him along the way and then they were posted to a website....

Here's a few things he did with us:

Shucks. Took the one off of photobucket where he was riding a weiner dog like a bucking bronco!!!! :)

We really liked it. I guess we're lucky because you have 30 days from the time that you first use your photopass to "retrieve" the photos, then you have another 30 days after that before they expire. So, we used it for every trip for 60 days, then we got the CD. And, we used it a ton when my sister and brother were here with their kids, and we split the cost of the CD. So, I thought it was a good deal.

Ok, how about this for the Ghiradelli email. Send me an email to amy@rodgersfamily.cc, and I'll send it to your email. I think that's the best way to do it.

Actually, Chris was the one that was on their email list first. So, I got on there a little while later. If you sign up, I think that you also get a coupon.

AND you get a coupon for your birthday! But I signed up using the DTD zip code.

Jumping up and down with raised hand. We get the birthday coupons but haven't seen anything else. We'll be in da World this time next week so I think we can put it to good use....

BTW: Like the Flat Stanley idea..

Had fun in chat last night! I forgot to tell you guys - I'm so excited, one of Matt's 2nd cousins (ok the little boy of one of his cousins) sent us a FLAT STANLEY to take around and then send back to the class.

So I know we have a lot of moms and dads here - what are good things the kids like to see Flat Stanley do? How long do we keep him before we return him?

We didn't have Flat Stanley, but we had Barney the Bear last year.

Let's see....Walker took him roller blading with us, we took him out to dinner and Walker made sure to strap him into a seat belt when we were in the car, Barney sat with Walker while he did his homework and watched TV.

As for how long to keep him, no instructions included? I know I was rather tired of Barney after the weekend, so I was very happy to send him back to school on Monday. :)

Here's a couple pictures. Can you see them?? It's photobucket, not dotphoto.

Scoopie is a lot like Miles and Millicent.

Short history of Miles:
I bought Miles for Karen to "rectify" one of my past husbandly transgressions, ahem. Anyway since we were on a trip at the time "Miles" was christened as our traveling cat. Our fuzzy children always get left at home so Karen decided to have a traveling cat that she could snuggle. So far we have pix of Miles in Mexico at Tulu'm and Cheat-so-neat-za (not even gonna try to spell that) ie: the Piramid. In Cleveland, in Hersey, PA (being held by the Reeses peanut butter cup guy) and of course at the World and at Nasau. Miles was lonley so Millicent was soon "procured" and the rest you can guess. (BTW there are offspring, Peep & Piggy) The whole brood are on the packing list for every trip taken.

I figured it was better than carting a garden gnome everywhere so what the heck.

I went to the eye doctor earlier today. I've never had my eyes dialated before, so it was quite an experience. I'm still wearing my sunglasses as it helps to shield me from the glare. It's a beautiful day in our neck of the woods. Gary's off to get some sod for the side yard where we had some bushes taken out. Now we need to fill the area in and it's the perfect time of year to do that. I'm hoping I can help when he gets back.

Anyway, let me tell you about my new reading glasses. The ultimate Disney colors red & black. I told Cameron that they look like the Disney ships. If that's not enough for me to get a Disney fix, I don't know what is. :teeth: If I have to wear glasses, at least I'll be happy with these.

I commented to the tech that they must not have many Disney fans when she told me the black/purple combination were more popular. And, that lead us right into about a 1/2 hour discussion about Disney. Turns out she just returned from a trip with her 6 year old and we compared notes on what we like, favorites, tricks & tips. They are not DVC members but who knows, maybe I sparked enough interest in her to check it out.

You should have had one of your DVC referrals with you, for that $50 Disney gift card.

No worries, I have to go back in about 10 days to pick up my new glasses. I'll make sure and bring one then. :teeth:

In honor of Friday and the new cruisers joining us I think it is time for another round of GTKYKFC (or Getting To Know Your Krazy Fellow Cruisers).

1) What is your packing strategy? (do you pack a week ahead, the night before, the day you leave, etc.) My sister makes a list of everything that we are taking and start getting it together about 1 week before vacation and finishes packing everything not a necessity to getting ready the day of the night before. However i pack the morning of or she packs for me. (I really am spoiled)

2) Do you have any pre-vacation rituals? We clean the entire house, get the animals stuff set out for the family to take care of them, pull out the basket for the mail, have pizza the night before and always bring pictures of our family with us( 3 cats and 3 dogs)

3) What deck are you on for this cruise and what do you like best about that location? we are on deck 2 i think. DVC picked it for us.

4) What category are you in and what made that your choice? We are in cat 10 or 11. We didn't want to use all of our points just for the cruise( currently we have 117 left of 350 for use year 2007)

5) Where are you staying the night before and why did you choose that location?
SSR before and after- availability We had to wait for our traveling party to make a real commitment before we made our reservations.

Hi Cruise Mates! Happy Satirday! (That's for the "spell check" compelled!) :lmao:

We've taken another DISer on trips to WDW since they have not been able to attend. Sent pics and "stuff" back when we all returned. Fun.

I've got Azmarelda, but she may stay at home...depends on packing needs.

Smart about the DVC referral card.

Lovely day here. Busy night. Went for an 11 mile "stroll" this early a.m. I made it for 6:30 with my Saturday group and some were already started.

The girls had their first mini-meet today at gymnastics and did really well. They both made their cartwheel on the beam so they were happy. The coach wouldn't tell them all their scores so they have to wait until Monday for that. They each got to pick one score that they wanted to see and Brooke got a 9 on floor and Jessica had a 8.55 on beam. Those are great scores so everyone was happy. We went to Olive Garden after and now just watching the Michigan football game. :happytv:

We watched part of that. The "state up north" is looking good.

We aren't allowed to say that "M" word in our house during football season....so that team is referred to as "the state up north." If you say it, you have to put $0.25 in a jar!! :)

Congrats!!! For someone who couldn't ever complete a REGULAR cartwheel on the ground, I'm in awe at kids who can do gymnastics!!!

Ok, this smiley isn't *quite* right, but it's as close as they had!!!
