I forgot to post this yesterday - Food and Wine fest info is out for the ticketed events. I know it's on mousesavers but I bet it's also on the DIS info page.

Which reminds me - Jeff, Karen, Curt - where are you guys???

Mary & I were saying the same thing last night.

It's been a long time. We miss you. Don't let the biters scare you away (in case you missed it, that would be Walker, not Diana this time ;) )

Amy - I went through a similar situation when Tom had surgery last year. You are in my thoughts. I think the family members have it worse than the patient! The patient is at least "knocked out" and unaware of the time that is passing.
Thanks, Annmarie! I did finally get a call from the hospital just a couple of minutes ago that he's in post-op and I can come get him in about 1/2 hour. So, at least he came through it just fine.

CRUISE QUESTION

Ok first i've been redoing our wedding budget so excuse the crazed look on my face. And yes, I will share some things soon - I'm waiting for some photos :)

How do we add funds to our cruise account? I have to stick this cash their now or I'll spend it on crocs! Can we do it on the website? Can we call? I really hope we can do it in advance!

I do know that you can do that.
Personally what I would do is open an ING account. Earn the current 4.35% interest on your money. Stick your cruise charges on your Disney Visa and earn 1% cash back. Then when the bill comes due, transfer the money from ING to your checking account and voila you "made" money. :)
I know that if you're referred by a current ING member you also get a $25 bonus (some limitations apply---must have a beginning deposit of at least $250 is one that I can think of off the top of my head)
It's easy and safe. I like sticking money in there to "hide" it. If it's in the checking account I WILL spend it!! :)

Yeah we already have an ING account that is paying for the wedding. I wanted to put some funds on the ship credit account so that we don't have to worry about paying for them. We have to pay 100% (and then some) for the wedding 30 days in advance, so we're going to be broke (and then some) so we were thinking of new ways to have some fun money.

I love ING for just that. When I was selling on ebay, I would transfer funds from paypal over to ING. All the sudden, they were adding up and it was like found money. I just took our Hilton Head spending money out -- it's a easy way to save.

Thanks guys! Maybe I'll have Matt put it in his account - lol - then we just have to remember to withdraw it. Somewhat makes me want to change to HSBC for the interest rate and the debit card :)

Also - while playing around on the Disney Cruise site I was able to fill out all our forms today so all we have to do is sign the consent form and bring our passports with us. It's getting so real now!

Glad to hear it. By now you're probably at the hospital.

Hope Chris is feeling better soon pixiedust:

We talked briefly about the HSBC accounts. One would think, since that's where Gary's works, that's we would have already made the switch. :rolleyes1

Can someone tell me what an HSBC account is?

Also anyone out there a financial advisor or know stuff about money. Todd has a 401K through work and this quarter it lost more than what he put in.
I'm not sure if this was common or if we need to look at reallowcating our funds.

Not a financial planner at all, but I do know Mike was having decent losses on his 401K stuff. Then the practice looked into some sort of service....I want to say it's something through Nationwide. It's a guy who monitors all of the....I dunno....I guess your investments ....and then plays with them to make the most money possible by switching them from high to moderate to low risk stuff when needed. I know that instead of losing money in these last 18 months or so, his 401K has been earning a decent amount. Of course, there is some sort of fee, but he's earning above and beyond that fee so it's been worth it.

I just pay the bills when they come in. Other than that, I'm not so good with money. :)

I also will add that Mike just told me his account lost about $5,000 this last quarter, but he's not really concerned. He said "you go into this for the long haul."

So if WE lost, and YOU lost....maybe something was up. :confused3

Chime! Chime!

Okay, yes. When I viewed the "My Cruise Reservation Details" page in Firefox I do not get the day to day listing. I had to switch to Internet Explorer (well okay using IETab Extension in Firefox, but you can use IE directly too), relogin to the cruise site, reenter my reservation number, and then the page had the details for me.

My guess is its an ActiveX control which Firefox won't display (or perhaps adblock was blocking) - not 100% sure, once it worked I didn't investigate further.
I'm glad you posted this Todd! It doesn't show up in Safari either and I was beginning to get worried. Used IE and there it was!! :thumbsup2

Haven't checked my balances yet but I think the 2nd quarter ended with the market down due to a whole slew of stuff.

Karen - I'd love more information on that service when Mike has some time!

Same idea and system as ING. I believe it pays just a little better. Some may feel more comfortable with HSBC as they are a known company. At least in our household ;) Seriously, they hold most of the smaller credit card companies accounts. Like Best Buy & GM Card are the two I can think of right now.

Gary would like to transfer our funds over there. I guess it's a case of feeding the hand that feeds you.

I really need to look more into doing that once we return from vacation. Along with a ton of other things.

Hi everyone!! Chris is home from the hospital with his painkillers and antibiotics. He's still a tad groggy and sore, but he's doing well.

Thanks for all the pixie dust!!!

I thought so, I am not fond of them credit wise.

Glad to hear we are not the only ones who "lost" money.

I also am interested in the service, we've been considering one of the flat rate financial planners. I'd like to get out of this apartment and into a house closer to either Longwood or Disney.

Thats all my babbling for now
Cheryl
