Is there a commandment "thou shalt not covet thy DIS neighbor's refridgerator??"

I LOVE the french door/freezer on the bottom models. We needed a new fridge and looked ALLLLLLL over for one of those that was small enough. THe smallest they make is still about 1 1/2 inches for our opening (1970's home---built before big fridges even existed!) We did end up getting a freezer on the bottom at least and I LOVE that!!! So nice. :)
That's our problem too, Karen! Our house was built in the early 70s and when we went to buy a fridge, we had to return the first one that they delivered. It fit the opening, but it stuck out too far into a doorway. If we ever remodel the kitchen, I'm going to make enough room for a really big fridge.

Maybe I just need to sneak over to Mary's to take a peek at mine!

I still have Stacy's, Diana's and MaryJ's books here.

I'll get working on them. Diana's & Stacy's will be on their way to MaryJ before we head to Hilton Head.
Sounds like you're doing well too. I was on a roll these past few days. I completed the 2 CJs for my scrapbook retreat, Cindy's SSMC05 CJ, and another shadowbox of my nephew for my SILs mom (it's VERY similar to the original, so I was able to just kind of copy it). Today, I need to work on a couple more projects. Plus, I'm going to see if I can get some stuff out on eBay today.

15 Weeks - I am so ready!

Steve - :grouphug: to you and Coleen for surviving that fridge ordeal. And I'm so sorry to hear about your truck - I'm glad no one was hurt.

Gail - don't you just love that there isn't another direct road to get up north here - Michigan construction drives me crazy - thus why I don't travel up north much. Glad you had a fun time.

I'm so ready for a road trip but have to make it thru my 3 kids' birthdays first before I'm allowed to leave this month. :moped:

Almost forgot to add that tonight is DVC chat - hope to see ya there.

We are heading downtown today to the Shedd Aquarium. :fish:

I'm not sure where all of yesterday went. I took the kids to see Pirates 2 yesterday. I guess I need to rewatch the 1st one to see if the 2nd one makes more sense. I had a kind of tough time putting it all together. Walker wasn't scared a bit -- I had visions of him and me sitting in the lobby for 2.5 hours while Cameron & his friend watched the rest of the movie.

Gary did some landscaping. A week or so ago, we had the landscaper remove a bunch of bushes along the side of the house. Then we were left with just a patch of dirt with lots of perinials in there. So, Gary dug them all up and we re-dug some of them into the ground the rest of the day. Still need to rototill and buy some sod for that area. I'm just thinking the sodding is better left for when we get back into town or it will die while we're on vacation.

The pet sitter came and all is well there. I think she's a little strange -- but as long as she takes care of the animals, we'll be happy. She did tell me that she's a "whisperer" and will be able to tell us all of Tony's issues when we get back. :teleport: I have to say, tony usually barks when anyone approaches our home yet this lady was able to come into the house and out into the yard without him making a sound  so in some ways, I wonder, maybe she doesn't have a connection with pets.

Have a great Sunday! :sunny:

Have a GREAT time at the Aquarium. It's been years since we've been to Shedd. Heck, we need to take a vacation to Chicago (not just weekend trips) to just visit all the tourist stuff that we haven't done in a LONG time.

Yea!!! 15 weeks to go!!!!

Steve - Yikes! :scared1: Sounds like you had a couple of crazy days. I'm glad to hear no one was hurt in the accident.

Gail - Don't ya just love construction. I hate then and also when people have to gawk at an accident. I took me an hour to get home the other day , now I only have to go 15 miles on a highway, but since their was a three car minor fender bender (which was all off the rode when I passed it) it added about 35 minutes to my communte.

:drive: Well we went car shopping yesterday. I think I might be getting a Grand Caravan with that stow-n-go seating. I'm hitting a couple of other dealerships today to see if I see anything better or not. So glad they are running those employee pricing specials and the 0% financing!

Oh I almost forgot. I talked to my Dad yesterday (he's at Vero right now). They did the "new" Pirates ride with the new animatronics. He said it was cute. They also tried to catch the midnight showing of Pirates at the AMC at Pleasure Island but they were sold out by like 2pm he said. pirate:

Well, the 3 door thing would have been extra nice b/c where our fridge is, you cannot open the door ALL the way. It hits the counter opposite it. I guess you could put in a side by side, but I've never been a fan of those. The one we have now is pretty nice....'cept it doesn't open ALL the way!

Man, maybe I should have hired her for Maggie! Although I'm not really sure I wanted to know what Maggie was thinking about us!!! :)

We're off to see Pirates AGAIN this weekend. Mike and I saw it Friday while the kids were at camp. Now we're going back to take them.

Camp went well. They both had a BLAST. Weather was great---not a drop of rain. Didn't get too hot. But the nights were very cool. Both kids said they were chilly at night even in their long pj's (i packed long and short, just in case) and in their sleeping bags. But they lived. Nick did say that sometimes he missed us, but his counsellor said there wasn't a single issue, so he must have just missed us and then went on.

We did take the cat up when we picked the kids up. We got him from that camp last year and so we took him "home." He was mauled by lots of kids. Slept like a baby the whole way home! ;)

This was KT's last year at camp (b/c one camp is K-4, the other is 5-6 grades) She's SOOOO sad she can't go next year and she has to be 14 to be a teen helper (2 yrs) I thought of a horrible plan. I could sign up to be a cabin counsellor under the condition that KT can come with me. Nick's counsellor did it this year....he had a boy that was too young to go to camp but he said he'd be a counsellor if his son could tag along. Of course, I have a LONG time to talk myself out of THAT crazy plan!!! :earseek: :earseek: And, I'm smart, I didn't breathe a word of it to KT or she'd hold me to it!!

Btw, here's her birthday cake I made for her yesterday.....It's the one she asked for 4 months ago! :) The final product had a couple of plastic star fish, a sea horse and a beach umbrella on it. :)

Steve---glad you finally got the fridge issue straightened out, but sorry to hear about your truck. Just keep in mind that trucks can be repaired and thankful no one was hurt.

Diana---I sent Amy and Cheryl's CJ's to you on Friday.

Ken and I are taking a vacation in Asheville, NC. Went to the Biltmore House today and all I can say is WOW!! People told me that I would be blown away by it, but I really had no idea how awesome it would be. Going to dinner tonight so I don't think I'll be in chat. Have a nice evening, everyone!

Don't you just LOVE Biltmore Estate! We went up to NC several years ago (before kids) and we had a blast. We spent an entire day at Biltmore, and even stopped at the winery, and ended up leaving with a case of different wines. Yummy, yum, yum!!!

So do we and we live here!!

We were talking about that after lunch today. There was a family next to us, maps laid out, discussing where they were headed next and how they were going to get there. Gary & I both commented as we left that it's strange the people actually come to Chicago for a vacation when we go there not as often as we should.

We had a great time, but boy, our feet are sore. Kind of like walking a day through Disney World. We saw everything, at least once, and then walked around the lakefront. There's a special exhibit right now with lizards -- they had this huge komodo dragon that could eat Walker for a snack! Very neat to see. We ended up renewing our membership again. For one year for our family it's $95. Admission for just one day for the 4 of us not much less than that so all we need to do is go once more in this year to come out ahead. Somehow I don't think that's going to be a problem.

Afterwards, we found my Mom in the new facility she's living in -- out in Chicago Ridge -- a good drive from us. We then stopped at Gary's Mom's for a bit. Family visits all taken care of for a while.

Just trying to chill for the rest of the night --- anyone heading to chat tonight?

I'm glad the kids are home and had fun. As for next year, you've done it before -- so hey, go for it!

Mary, I've heard the Biltmore House is fabulous. We've driven by it several times on our way to/from Hilton Head but just have never made it a point to stop. Maybe one of these days if we ever decide to drive again, we'll do just that. Enjoy the rest of your days there!

Cindy - sounds like you guys had a great day today. A couple of years ago we were supposed to go to Hershey, Pa for the weekend to meet up with a DIS group. People dropped out for various reasons and the weather out East was lousy so we cancelled as well. We started the day at the Field Museum and bought the City Pass. We did the Field Museum, Shedd, Adler, John Hancock and then on another day the Museum of Science and Industry. It was a great little vacation to Chicago!

I'm planning on being in chat tonight.

Chris and I were talking about maybe going up to Chicago for a week next year, and spend the weekdays downtown doing things like the museums, a Cubs game, Chicago Riverboat tour, Double-decker bus tour, and of course, a trip to the American Girl store. Then, we could spend the weekend visiting family and friends.

Chat died on me so I'm out of there.

It was fun while it lasted.

Night all!
