Wow, Steve what a horrible week. Glad no one was hurt in the accident, though. And I thought we were having a time of it with cold showers from the new water heater. But you've got us beat, unfortunately.

Amy - yeah on the CJ. This is my last one right? I hold on to it until the cruise. Can't believe we'll be done already. Yeah!
Wow, ya'll are almost finished. I hope y'all will display them for the rest of us to see and get inspiration from on the cruise.

Yep, your last one. I can't believe it either, but we all did such a good job keeping up with them.

We are back from a weeks vacation to the upper part of the lower peninsular of the state. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. John golfed a couple of days and I finished a bazillion Sudoku puzzles.

The drive home should have taken us about 3 1/2 hours, but it took us 6 - gotta love construction on I-75! Our neighbors were having a graduation party for their daughters, so we unpacked the refridgerator items and then headed next door for the party.

Came home from the party to try and get the car unpacked, but decided I needed to read this thread first. Not bad only 15 pages for the week!

Hi everyone! It has been ages for me here. Sorry. I have been going through a lot lately.

Anyway, I am wondering...is there a BB Cheerleading squad? I think I'm up for that!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

ETA: I don't think I am up to being a Baywatch Banana Boat Babe waiting to rescue the fallen.
:rotfl2:

There sure was alot of activity with you guys this week.

Cindy - glad the Pool Manager is going to look into the pool incident. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Cheryl - the Turf Club sounds nice - the reuben sandwich Todd had looked really good!

Steve - glad you had a great fishing trip, minus the fishing lure accident - YIKES! Glad you finally got a fridge that works, but sorry to hear about the Avalanche, thankfully no one was hurt - except the truck but they can make that new again! I know you must be miserable without your baby!

Ilene - I hope you get some good news regarding the surgery. Hopefully it won't interfere with the cruise. pixiedust:

Jacqui - your poor son, I hope you find a doctor that will take some action on getting his arm set so he can get on to healing. pixiedust:

Welcome back, Gail! It's good to see you back!!!

Gail , welcome back. We really did have a great time up there and I promise to post some pics. As for the truck I know it will be as good as new. The body shop will fix it up quickly.

I appreciate all the kind words from everyone, they do help . Thank you all!

Mary,

How many weeks do we have left?

(By the way 15 is one of my favorite numbers ;) )

   Last call for the banana boat!

I've gotten info from everyone who originally signed up. We have 13 ladies signed up (including both Roxann's daughter Kiele and Gail's daughter Deanna) and 10 guys (including Stacy's son Nick and Cindy's son Cameron). Amy have you heard back from your friends yet to see if they want to join the fun?

I'd like to set a cut-off of Tuesday to send the list in. If anyone else is thinking of joining please send me your info.

We're going to have a great time

Good morning

I haven't heard back from them yet, but Chris says they might be out of town. Or heck, maybe he just hasn't checked his email yet. I'll let you know.

Good morn all.

Hey I'm up to be a banana boat cheerleader :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Steve, a little stretch of bad luck, was it a full moon. Hopefully you will now enjoy your new fridge. We have the freezer on bottom and love it. Ours is a few years old now and I really like the double doors on top but it wasn't an option when we bought ours (which IS from sears, seems they used to be better all our appliances are Kenmore).

I can't believe only 15 wks till paradise..YAY! :cool1:

So we happen to like one and it happens to be ON SALE. $1900 and change later we have a 3 door with freezer on the bottom and a 5 year extended warranty signed, sealed and scheduled to be delivered on Thurs. between 9 and 12:00

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck. :( You're done now, it comes in 3's ya know.....fishing lure, refridgerator, truck....you're done. :)

Is there a commandment "thou shalt not covet thy DIS neighbor's refridgerator??"

I LOVE the french door/freezer on the bottom models. We needed a new fridge and looked ALLLLLLL over for one of those that was small enough. THe smallest they make is still about 1 1/2 inches for our opening (1970's home---built before big fridges even existed!) We did end up getting a freezer on the bottom at least and I LOVE that!!! So nice. :)

This MAY be my longest ever post. :(

We went to Sears on Sunday to "look" at new refridgerators. Ours was 20 yrs old and we were getting nervous. So we happen to like one and it happens to be ON SALE. $1900 and change later we have a 3 door with freezer on the bottom and a 5 year extended warranty signed, sealed and scheduled to be delivered on Thurs. between 9 and 12:00

Fast forward to Thurs.

The Sears truck pulls up at 12:30 and the new fridge is on it. Old one hauled out and new one in and plugged in Lights on and motor humming. Sear delivery guys leave. Temp gauge reads 82 fridge and 72 freezer. Over the course of the next 4 hours the fridge went UP to 89 and the freezer STAYED at 72. Multiple calls to Sears (including the store manager) resulted in my BP going through the roof. They himmed and hawed and tried to tell me a repair person would be ther on MONDAY. This was NOT cutting it, we argued more. This went on for 2 hours. I was so darn mad by then it was incredible. Sears final solution was they would have a repair person there FIRST thing Friday morn to try and get it running so we could take stuff out of coolers. AND a new fridge would be delivered on Saturday morning. Oh and a whole $100.00 for our troubles. Temp after 8 hrs fridge 84, freezer steady 72.

Friday I stay home and wait ..............and wait.............and wait.............
At 12:15 I call the local appliance store and they tell me they have a very similar unit in stock, wrong color but acceptable. I drove into town find it to be ALMOST identical and buy it. The owner say it will be at my house by 4 pm. I get home and call Sears manager and tell him what had happened. He was surprised that I had done it I told him to send someone to pick up their fridge, his answer: nobody at that store who can do it or vehicle to do it with. This is a LARGE mall based Sears not some fly by night catalog shop. The service center 1 mile away is just a plce to order your parts OR drop off things for repair. Not told to us when we purchased. I was incensed. I thought we had local service people but NO they come from 40 miles away. But the best he was willing to do was credit our account and have the other one picked up on Saturday. I told them to pick up the EMPTY box the first delivery guys had left in our driveway too.
New one arrives from local appliance store friendly delivery guys. Courteous service and they have their OWN repairmen if something does go wrong. Best part we save over $300 because their extended warranty was so much less expensive.
By the time we got home last night it was nice and COLD inside. We were thrilled.

Till this morning.............

On my way to work today I was at a four way stop waited for what I thought was all the traffic to go and promptly plowed into the side of another car. I was just SICK. I feel terrible. I never even saw him till we hit. My beautiful Avalanche is damaged and his passenger door was caved in. He was extremely nice and I apologized profusely. No one was hurt and I know................Thats why they are called accidents.
But it still bothers me that I didnt even see him. My mind must have been 1000 miles away. So now I am truckless and feeling very bad about it.
I hope you all have a better stretch of days than me.

Squid

Oh, Steve, what a bummer! :(

I hate waiting for deliveries and service people to arrive. It seems like the day of the customer coming first are long gone. I'm glad the other store was able to help --- but still having to deal with all that would have my blood pressure up as well.

So sorry about your truck. At least you weren't hurt.

Maybe I just need to sneak over to Mary's to take a peek at mine!

I still have Stacy's, Diana's and MaryJ's books here.

I'll get working on them. Diana's & Stacy's will be on their way to MaryJ before we head to Hilton Head.

Welcome back, Gail.

Sounds like you had a nice relaxing time -- except for the long drive home.
