Ilene - a circle journal is a small scrapbook that is done by a circle of friends. Amy brought up the idea after the last Member Cruise and a number of us signed up for it. Amy, Diana, Cindy, Cheryl, Mary J, Stacy and myself. You start by decorating your own scrapbook (mine is 8x8) and setting your theme and doing a sign in page and your first spread. Then you pass it on and the next person does a thread in your theme and passes it on. At the end you get yours back and it is filled with pages done by your friends. We plan to exchange them back to each other on this Member Cruise. I've really enjoyed doing it and hope we get an even bigger circle next time!

Member Gallery Update

I've updated the gallery with some new info and pictures that I got in within the last week.

Please welcome Mary Jo and Phil (aka pkk/mjk)

Mary J sent in pictures of both her and her DH Ken.

Shelia (Sigillaria) also sent in her picture.

Be sure and stop by and "meet" some more Member Cruisers!

Mary, you did a GREAT job describing the circle journal concept. And, the greatest part is that you can be an expert or beginning scrapbooker, it doesn't matter. The thing that matters the most is that at the end, you have a scrapbook that has entries from all of your friends!!!

Thanks Amy - you are right it is great for all experience levels. I love seeing how everyone has set up their pages. Best of all at the end I will have a book full of not only my memories but those of my friends and that is priceless!

So when are signups for this cruise??? :rotfl: I'm waiting, not so patiently, to join a CJ with y'all. Oh I guess I'll wait another 18 weeks, but it's not easy cuz I'm an impatient person at times.

:teleport: :surfweb: Good Morning All,

Thought I would beam in for a quick Dis fix, but I've been on since before 7:30 getting caught up - whew, your tax dollars at work! Karen notifies me that we are EXACTLY 21 days from our next trip home. :woohoo:

After the disASTER that was our last trip Karen and I are going to hunt down :tink:for a PD shower to get our Dis-ness (dizziness?) back!

Saw that post from Julie about the Flying Dutchman, yup GREAT photo op!! - "Paging Copper & camcorder, please report to CC docks to meet your party."

Karen and I spent the weekend at the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police Conference - LOTS o'::cop:. After a very nice memorial service and the awarding of the FOP officer of the year (who was shot while ending the criminal career of a person who can "best" be catagorized as being not so nice an individual) I got a couple of "very" nice  from by beloved dw. Who on the first night of the conference temporized my dragging her away from HER beloved Tigers by DIScovering what we call the Hospitality Suites - :drinking:. Needless to say a good time was had by all.

BTW - Giving a shameless plug to the Tigers - First team to 50 wins! & entering our third month in first place!!

Karen says HI to all - as she has a very busy petsitting week, 3 or 4 clients for the next two weeks.

Stacy & Jacqui PM for a Detroit or Air Force post card (depending on the type of child who needs smiles).

All for now - till next time
:teleport:

Good Monday Morning!:goodvibes

I am off to my first day at my new job. I have not worked a Monday morning for awhile. I did not sleep very well last night so hopefully I don't crash mid-day.;)

Record heat yesterday and today.:sunny: DD and auntie are heading to the Zoo this morning before the heat gets too bad.

Don't chat too much while I am away!:lmao:

Curt,
I do petsitting too! My business name is "Leash and Lead". I don't advertise and currently only do cats as just as soon as I established this little "business" I got offered the job of my dreams and since it's full time I can't get out and do the midday doggie walks. At this point I only have two clients and only pet sit about 3 times a year but I do like it and maybe after my present job becomes dull I can go back to it.

This is the wife's business. We wish that there were more clients available so this could be her full time job. Karen is a brittle, Type 1 diabetic, and finding employers who are sympathic is a VERY tough thing to do. With the petsitting she has the ability to time her day around her "lazy pancreas" (wasn't that the right term?)

Me I work full time for the government, ominous isn't it.

In these parts, we call it our "stupid pancreas" although lazy is technically more correct! :lmao:

Humbly bows in correction... :rotfl2:

Happy Belated Birthday Gail and Tom!!!!!

There was a question about what else we are doing... does marking "17" on your son's diaper and lip synching to the song "Give Me That Old Time Rock and Roll" count??? ;)

Jacqui and Stacy, PM me or RRBB for a Dallas Post card...

Jacqui, If I might type a little sacrilege ... Might I suggest The Portofino or the Hard Rock, or Royal Pacific. If it is just for a couple of days, you might want to try US IOA. When you stay on property there, your room key becomes an unlimited fast-pass (you basically walk into the fastpass line on all of the rides. Since IOA is mostly Roller Coasters, I think it might be quite special for your son. Additionally, there are the Halloween Horror Nights .., JMHO ... There is availability still, but it is a busy time....
They give discounts for AAA and "Passbook", but all of the discounted rooms may be already booked. PM my if you want more info....

Ilene, I have been told that the nerve blocks are wonderful, but anything will be better than nothing. I would make sure that whoever is doing your PT is a certified exercise physiologist

Curt,
When exactly are you going and where are you staying? I'll be at SSR July 14-18 with my adult DD. This trip is mainly so that she can see her sister who's interning at Disney, but just thought I'd mention that it looks like we might be in the world together for a short time!

Yeah Curt when are you going? We just planned a last min. trip and are going to be at SSR July 19 - 24. We found airfare for $117 on NWA and I just couldn't pass that one up.

We'll be there July 6 - 9 for the wedding planning visit. Matt and I are going with both of our mom's as well as my sister. Should be interesting - but luckily we passed the wait list for a 2 bedroom villa at BCV.

I am going on july 7th to pick up Pirate pins and see the new ride.
Also staying at SSR the 1st -2nd in hopes of trying the new restaurant!

OOhhh a pin - Cheryl, do you have more information? I am not a huge trader (seem to keep them to myself) but I do tend to like the ones that are date issued or special events that we attend.

COOL - UTop

CLOSE - but no cigar Mary. We will arrive at OKW on the 17th but have to meet my SIL in Dayton on the 18th.

Sorry we will miss you - mini meets are fun. Just ask the Chicago crowd. (Even Cameron appeared to enjoy it - once he woke up!!:lmao: )

AnnMarie - For GODS sake don't tell Karen what you paid. She AGONIZES over the airfare for MONTHS ahead of the trips. She'll buy a fare and then spend hours on the phone with NWA getting a price adjustment. Gotta love my little penny pincher!!

Give Karen a PM to see if/when our schedules can cross. See above for my ideas about mini-meets.

Julie - and ALL DisSers I am in DESPERATE NEED of THIS Toulouse pin from the Aristocat collection.

I have looked high and low for this pin. If you have spares of this little devil just collecting dust somewhere PLEASE PM. I will pay/trade or obtain other pins for you during one of our trips home.

Thanks,
