Didn't mean to post and run earlier, but Ian insisted he get some attention. So we went outside to watch the construction workers for a while then came in for a snack. Then we went back outside to watch the guys "close" up the house for the night. But when we came back in again it smelled like gas - they moved the gas line and when it was flushed must have gotten into the A/C intake. We ended up sitting in the car watching Winnie the Pooh for about an hour before coming back in.

This is the Disney Classics Collection piece I replaced today. I won the auction for less than the original retail price, I guess a good thing. I just wish I hadn't needed to do that. At least it's a lower number than the one that broke - it's a special 10th anniversary LNE piece.

And here are a few pics of the work being done on our house.

This is how our house used to look - after they poured the floor for the new section of garage.

This was while they were taking down the brick - they kept it to reuse.

This was yesterday when they framing the new section of garage.

This was early today when they were removing part of the roof.

Tonight we have a giant blue tarp covering the opening in the attic and the top of the new section. What I didn't realize until I started a load of laundry is that they removed the door between the garage and the laundry room and it's just covered with a piece of plastic. It's a little disconcerting since there had been a locked door between the construction and us - when they start working at 7am and I'm still not dressed yet - and now there's not.

It is her back end but it is almost like her leg goes to sleep and after she is limping around it seems to get better. Some days she can jump up on the bed and the couch and other days I have to help her. She is still shedding all over though. I can't imagine how hard it will be when we have to let her go. She was our first baby and the girls grew up with her. She is really a great dog.

That's how Penny started, she'd go for days fine and then all of a sudden she'd start limping on it, like it was asleep. I'd say she was close to 10 when it started. Then she started chewing on her back leg.....and I mean really chewing on it, nasty stuff. So, she wears an ace bandage with gauze and antibiotic ointment on it almost contstantly, until she chews it off again. Now it's pretty much more bad days than good. Like yours, she's my baby, I've had her since she was 8 weeks old, I picked her out at 4 weeks. She's been through so much with me and got me through the worst points of my life. It's just really sad that pets have to age so quickly.

Glad to hear we made it to 10,000, I am sure 15,000 is reachable :cool1:

Wow--I leave for a while and look at you guys!!

Robin--Congrats on post 10000!! :cool1: The construction project sounds pretty interesting!

Gail--Good luck with the surgery! And get well soon!! pixiedust:

Cindy--REALLY Cool bubble!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning! Well today should be a fairly easy day at work. I will be attending a company outing at a local country club so work is only until 11:15 and then off to play the rest of the day. It looks like a beautiful day to do so too. I signed up for volleyball and mini golf. Nothing like making a fool of yourself in front of your co-workers! :rotfl2:

Cindy, I can't believe how big that bubble is! People in my office buy big tubs of bubble gum at BJs and some of them make bubbles but never that big! I'm always afraid mine will pop and be stuck all over my face!

Robin, that's great you were able to replace your collectible! Especially since it was so special.

Roxanne, great news about your new job! On a good traffic day, I commute 45 minutes (one way) to one of my offices and 65 minutes to the other. We've often discussed moving closer to where I work but I love living in an beach community. Even though I don't have water views where I live it's nice to know it's less than a five minute drive to get there.

Have a good day everyone! Annmarie

Good morning everyone! Happy Hump Day!

Annmarie - sounds like you have a fun day ahead -enjoy!

My commute is only 10 minutes and one of the reasons I've stayed so long. I don't care for long commutes.

Curt - glad you like your ::cop:

:surfweb: Good Morning all!

Yup you guessed it - I'm the desk officer today ::cop: (go figure first day back after a wild weekend in Chicago.)

Eastcoasters - enjoy your day today, rain and t-storms here in Michigan.

Gail - Good luck on surgery

Robbin - 10,000 posts! - Lets roll on to 15,000!!!

Cindy - Compliment Cameron on that bubble! Also let him know there is a new saying here in Detroit to rally the Tigers, "It's gum time." The players then load themselves up with WADS of Big League Chew. Lately we haven't needed it but when we need the rally it seems to work! Since he is a WS fan that might keep him from chewing. (Think of the money saved at the dentist) :scratchin

Diana - Sorry to hear your Dal is moving in the wrong direction.... nuff said.

Well that should cover it until everybody wakes up and gets posting.

Have a Great Day!!

Gail, I'll be thinking of you today. I hope all goes well pixiedust:

Well Cameron impressed Deanna with that bubble! She wants to know how many pieces of bubble gum he needed for that bubble.

Cameron wouldn't even tell me -- I suspect 5 or 6. I know it was fresh as we brought a huge bucket of it to the game -- double bubble (but that looks like more than a double ;) ). I have another bucket in his camp care package. I hope Cameron doesn't come home with reminants of it still on his face or stuck to his hair from a huge bubble like that popping all over him. :rotfl2:

The kicker is that we'll never know how big it might have gotten -- because Walker couldn't resist the temptation to stick his finger into it.

eh, hate to be the one to burst your bubble...(get it? burst your bubble?) :lmao: but chewing big wads of Big League Chew will not save you money at the dentist. I went to their site to double check my memory (from my childhood days) and I was right.....it is NOT sugar-free. Coming from a mom who had a dd who needed a root canal at the age of 5 (!!!) STICK TO SUGAR FREE!

ok, off my soapbox. :)

betcha all are hoping my waitlist comes through, eh??? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good morning fellow cruisers. Ian woke me up about a half hour ago - he's back asleep, I'm still up.

Speaking of commutes, I once had a 1400 mile commute each week. Yup, I flew between DFW and SEA-TAC every Monday and Friday for almost a year and a half. I racked up the frequent flier miles but sure did hate the short weekends at home. At least I had an apartment w/washer & dryer up in Tacoma so I didn't have to carry a suitcase each week. Locally I've never been more than 20 minutes from my place of employment because I'm like Mary don't like long drives to work.

Hey Cindy - When are you coming to WDW in August? I was just looking at Passholder rates and was thinking about just staying Saturday night in one of the Values.

Amy, we fly down late on Friday, August 11 and return home late Tuesday, August 15th. :cool1:

You know I honestly can't remember what our goals were. :rotfl: I know the SSMC05 topped 14,000. I think at one point I said we could make 20,000. Not sure if that will happen.

Of course you never know. If we got something from DVC I bet we coule rack up 1000 posts just talking about that!

Don't forget that we are not far from booking our excursions and that always generates a lot of posts as to what everyone ends up deciding they want and end up successfully reserving. That's good for a few posts too! :chat:

Yeowzer!!
I have a fairly short commute now. It involves walking down a hallway and going down a flight of stairs. Of course, the commute BACK is harder b/c I have to go UP the stairs!! :lmao:

WOW, we must work at the same place! I have a very similar commute here! :lmao:

Seriously though, when I got out of college I got a job working at a broker at US Customs at the Canadian Border. I drove 50 miles each way, luckily I lived in the middle of nowhere so it took a little more than an hour in good weather.

When I first moved here, I had pretty much the same commute that Stacy has now, I lived about 15 miles from work and most days it took about an hour to get home with the insane traffic on the Northway.

Then I got my last job which was less than 5 miles from home, I came home at lunch, watched the soaps, jumped in the pool. That was almost as good of a commute that I have now!

OK, who here is a Big Brother fan? It starts up again tonight!! :cool1:

Reality TV is my guilty pleasure.

Big League Chew is his absolute favorite gum so I think we'll keep this between us. I hadn't thought about the extra trips to the dentist and next week Cameron will be at camp and I won't be there to supervise/remind his to make sure and brush his teeth.

Maybe I should take the bucket of gum out of his care package. :scratchin

The thing is, the kids aren't allowed to keep any food items inside their tents so once the care package gets opened, they have to finish all of it in one night. So, I can see all 19 boys, with wads of gum in their mouths, trying to outdo the others with the bubble blowing skills. :rotfl:

I didn't read this....I didn't read this!

Actually, I think Curt was thinking that because Cameron is a White Sox fan, that he'd stop chewing gum all together thinking he was supporting the Tigers.

Yes, Karen, we're hoping. It's always nice to know there is a pediatrician on board. ;) Just kidding, I'd love to sail with you again!
