Mark was outside all day. I helped a little and spent the rest of my day starting a scrapbook I'm putting together for my MIL for Mother's Day. It is the one that came in the QVC TSV that a lot of us got last year. Pretty much the size of the circle journals. Thought she would like that.

I am in the middle of an 8 day stretch and dont have a bunch of time to post after catching up so its good that you all have been easy on me today.
I will try and keep up till weds. when I get a day off.

It's been a long day for us. It turned out to be a beautiful spring day in Chicagoland. Much, much nicer than they were predicting and warmer than yesterday.

All of us has a bit more color today than we did -- poor Walker, though, decided to wear a mohawk for his soccer game (colored light blue to match their team color no less ) and now has sun burn on his part lines.

Walker had an 11 a.m. soccer game, Cameron had an 11:10 baseball game. So, I took Walker to his game and Gary took Cameron. After Walker's game, we walked home and then headed over to the baseball game. Walker's team lost this week, Cameron's won. Both boys really put their all into their games which is nice to see.

Afterwards, we came home and started tackling our shed. We took everything out of there and went through all the boxes. The garbage men are going to love us on Tuesday. I don't think it has been empty since it was built when Cameron was little. A big spring cleaning job for us. Everything we kept is now back inside with room to spare.

Tomorrow, we tackle the garage!

Hi All! We just got home. Right after I posted this morning my blackberry died but I'm so excited that I can get onto the DIS with it. I'm going to bring it with me when we go to WDW in two weeks.

Got a tour of the house Shawn will be renting with one of his room-mates from this year and his room-mate from last year. It's a three bedroom, three bath duplex in a safe neighborhood and close to St. Joe's (within walking distance). The only problem is there are three seniors living there now and the place is DISGUSTING! We also met his landlord and she wasn't too happy about the condition of the place but she said they have to leave it in the same clean condition as when they moved in so we'll see. Shawn moves in July 15 so there is plenty of time for them to clean it up.

Chat sounds like it was fun last night. Hope to be able to be there tomorrow night.

Well, it's been a long day. We left at 4:45AM and got home at 9:15PM. We have to finish unpacking the vehicle and then I'm heading to bed. Annmarie

Is anyone thinking about the sweatshirt? I kind of am for myself.

Yep. I may order the sweatshirt. I really don't know what I want yet, and I think that Curt is having a difficult time deciding between the polo and the t-shirt. I guess we've still got some time to figure it out.


I am hurtin' for certain right now. I was working in my client's garden today, and I may have screwed up my back. I did this once last year, too (in the very same garden, no less), and it only lasted a couple of days, so hopefully it will heal quickly again this time. However, I'm supposed to work for her again tomorrow - I'm not so sure that will be happening...

That's the one downside to being self-employed - no sick days. No work = No pay.

We went to church last night so I had the beauty of sleeping in today. Yes being up at 6:30 is sleeping in for me.

Good morning everyone!!

Well, the party was a success, but I'm still tired. We kept the party small, there were only 8 kids, which included my 2, but they were all so well-behaved. My only problem now is making Emily understand that the new toys in the house are her sister's, not hers.

We need to wait to see if Madison still has a runny nose, and if not, we'll head to church. Then, Chris is working on writing a grant for his Barbershop singing chorus and I need to get to work on some circle journals. Plus, I want to put up some more stuff of ebay tonight.

Oh, Karen. I slipped a disk when Walker was little tying his shoes. It was very painful and until then, I didn't realize the pain that went into back problems. Many months of therapy later, I appreciated how much better my back ever felt. I hope your is on the mend today.

I hear you there! It's not so bad when I plan a week to be off, but it's the unexpected days that are the killers. When I had the flu for those 3 days shortly before we went to Florida in March I kept thinking I should be working but I knew I couldn't. I do have 5 personal days built into my contracts but who wants to use them when they are sick? I always thought personal days were suppose to be "do something special days" but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

I'm curious because I've written and been awarded 3 for my daycare. They were all funded through the State of IL and I've received $4500 in daycare items (a computer being one of them). While not hard to write, they were specific in their areas they targeted. People I know who didn't get awarded funds either didn't answer the questions, follow the guidelines (like submitting single spaced rather than double spaced) or just didn't match the criteria.

The first one I wrote asked the questions "what county do you live in". It was shortly after 9/11 and I answered that with "USA". I read the question as country, not county. Of course, I noticed that after the fact when I went back to re-read it after submitting it. I thought for sure I was going to be disqualified because of that -- but I wasn't. Either none of the grant readers caught it or they thought I was very patriotic.

I didn't apply the last time around. I really do not need anything more for my daycare. Someday I would love to be on the other end of the process and become a reader. I think it would be very interesting and something I would enjoy doing. I have submitted my name, now it's just a matter of wait and see.

In celebration of another Sunday and getting closer to cruising let's do a few more GTKYKFC questions


1) What is your usual Sunday routine?

2) If you have cruised before what will you do different on this cruise?

3) If someone said they would make your perfect meal what would it include?

Here are my answers:

1) What is your usual Sunday routine? We usually do 7 am Mass on Sunday, followed by a full traditional breakfast (really the only day of the week that we do a big breakfast), then watch the Nascar race (in season) and normal around the house stuff like laundry, etc. The exception is when there are night races like last night. We did Church last night and got to sleep in today.

2) If you have cruised before what will you do different on this cruise? This will be #9 for us so I don't think we'll make major changes. With each cruise we've learned how to pack a little less and to relax a little more.

3) If someone said they would make your perfect meal what would it include? My perfect meal would be fresh roasted turkey (white meat please), mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and nice roll and for dessert yellow cake with fudge frosting. Sounds like a meal Mrs. Cleaver would make doesn't it.

1) What is your usual Sunday routine?The girls are usually up around 7am. We read the paper while the girls watch Playhouse Disney, then it's off to church for the 10:30am service. We either go out to eat, or have a simple lunch at home. Then, the girls rest while Chris and I try to get things done around the house. Then, we have a nice dinner and watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and I try to go to DVC chat at 9pm.

2) If you have cruised before what will you do different on this cruise?This will be #4 for us, and the only thing that I think that will be different is the fact that we get to enjoy CC twice. So, I think that we might try more excursions since we have the extra time there.

3) If someone said they would make your perfect meal what would it include?My perfect meal would probably be a nice medium grilled ribeye with some garlic shrimp, loaded baked potato (butter, sour cream, cheese & real bacon), steamed broccoli and a caesar salad.
