I have a question about booking Palo. Since the bookings open for new cruisers soon will there be any openings for Palo available to book for everyone or once they are gone they are just gone until we board. I would like to book brunch if it would become available. Thanks

IIRC, several people booking for the first time last year as new cruisers were able to get brunch.

Janet, how on earth did you find that?

I'd say that's very interesting ---- and tempting! :rainbow:

Someone on the Cdn Boards posted the link.

I thought it appropropriate to post here! :teeth:

All I know is DD heard Bob Iger speak at work, and he told them "There will be more Vacation Club resorts" but he never said where or when. Think will hear something from Jim Lewis on the cruise? Mary, if you and Mark get another dinner invite, be sure to ask!

While I doubt we will be blessed with this honor again I'm thinking his answer would be "I can neither confirm or deny" which is what he said a few times at dinner. :) Unless of course it is at a stage where they can announce it and then everyone on board will hear it.

I'm not familiar with that board but your right, we love news & rumors too!

But, anyway, I think we'd probably add on -- if for nothing else, but the 11 month booking window. The MK is probably my favorite park and the idea of being able to walk there is very appealing to me. Looking at that, it's slated for 2008, so chances are any add on incentives this cruise won't include that resort. Too bad, as I think we have enough SSR points to hold us.

While I would love to stay there at some time I don't see us adding on any points. For one things since all our points were bought at $65/point I can't imagine paying what they are asking now. Plus our 400 points have served us well so I don't see the need for any more.

I did love the one time we stayed at the Contemporary to be able to walk back - especially after MVMCP!

That is quite a jump when you look at it that way. :scratchin

We've never stayed at the Contemporary but we did love to stay at the Poly pre-DVC days.

We seem to never have enough points so adding on isn't out of the question for us. But, then again, it gets to be to the point where how many is enough? We already have what should be enough points but somehow we seem to like to vacation too much. And, then I think about the kids getting older. Are they going to have the love of Disney to want to vacation there with their families? In which case, we could easily use more points. Or are their lives going to take them on different paths where we'll end us with too many points? Oh, gee, now I have a :headache:

The DVC Boards are clearly speculating on this information and rumor has it that the DVC cast members do KNOW where's next but have been told if they tell they lose their jobs. There is even a poll indicating that it won't be Contemp but somewhere else.... and another post saying that the announcement should come soon. I'm thinking in October to correspond with the anniversary (isn't that the DVC anniversary) and possibly or coincidentally with the cruise.

IF - IF it's Contemp we'll probably buy a contract there and sell our smaller SSR contract. But if it's not Contemp or something as cool (in our opinion) as that we'll stick with what we have.

Wow! This is very interesting. I don't know if I would add on either but wouldn't mind staying there at least once. Annmarie

Well since we don't have kids and since we are older I think we have all the points we need. We still do some vacations during the year cash. For example when we go down in December we are staying at the Poly on cash (hoping for an AP rate). Did the same thing a couple of years ago with the Contemporary when we went down in December. It was great to watch the fireworks from our room and to walk back after MVMCP.

Thanks, Stacy. I really like the blue cloud pattern. I'm thinking it might be easy to incorporate with my Winnie the Pooh theme pooh: . But, we changed our minds on the shape of the window. Being it wasn't ordered yet as our contractor didn't want to commit without our approval (hmmmm, decisions, decisions, to vent it or not -- I'm glad he didn't, as we decided against the octogan and went with a rectangle, non opening just for light). Anyway, I still will need some type of covering so I might just give this a try.

Oooohhh! The clouds would be very cute with a Winnie The Pooh Theme! pooh:

Very Cool!!!

Cindy your bathroom sounds very cool - can't wait to hear how it is once you complete it. How is the water issue now?

I've been reading the DVC Ops board today and finally figured out that the new "transfer rules" impact me and some of my good friends. This year we all transferred points to one friend (4 of us transferred our points to her) and then she booked the OKW Grand Villa for the group in May. With the new rules we won't be able to do that (and I say new rules as our docs state that we can only transfer one way a year, not one time a year) any more, we'll have to book each night by person and hope to link the reservations (what a pain). Sigh... DVC I'd like some better options here, we're not super renters!

Not much else going on - we did finalize the menu for our wedding so I thought I would share :)

Here's our MENU
SOUP
Smoked Tomato Bisque with Basil Chiffonade and Chevre Crumbles
120_2001.jpg

SORBET
Strawberry

ENTREES:
Grilled Chicen Breast with Pinot Noir Sauce and Fresh Mushrooms - ignore the mac and cheese :)
120_2018.jpg

Grilled Salmon Steak with Mustard Sauce Cruisp Herb and Parmesan
*for some reason I do not have a photo of the salmon but this is amazing and I will be ordering it for the wedding!

Oak Grilled Beef Tenerloin with Zinfandel and Balsamic Reduction
120_2016.jpg

Each entree will be served with the following sides:
Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes
Haricot Vert
Assorted Oven Fresh Rolls and Pretzel Bread

Wedding Cake
We're serving the round cake with 3 tiers (currently, however I think once we hit - or if we hit- over 75 it heads to 4 tiers) with the Mickey Gazebo top (eg the Mickey ears on top of a short 4 inch column).
  • Tier 1 Top = Red Cake based on bride's family receipe
    120_2025.jpg
  • Tier 2 middle = Yellow cake with Raspberry Mouse (hmm I think there are to be raspberries in there as well)
  • Tier 3 bottom = chocolate cake with amaretto mousse

How are all the other plans going? Okay, okay, I know you'll share when your ready but I love seeing this come together through your posts.

I can't wait for the next edition. :bride: :groom:

I am back, exhausted. Heat was awful, crowds weren't too bad.

Ran into Jeff (Copper3) at the studios on Sat.

Julie: Your menu sounds awesome!
