OK, I am a computer applications/systems tester which means I test computer programs/systems that other people develop/program. I used to be a progammer but was asked to take a testing assignment about 7 years ago and have not gone back to programming, yet.

Jeff - we have something in common. My background is also QA. I've been doing it for 20+ years after the first five years spent in programming. The past seven years, I've been mostly involved with Human Resource sytems testing. I just started a new job in July as a Test Coordinator, which is more Project Management than techincal. My DW is a paralegal working for the town we live in.

We also plan to go to MNSHHP on the 26th, since that seems to be popular consensus.

I hadn't thought about the F&WF, not even realizig it was at the same time. I need to read more about that.

During F&WF at Epcot, there are stations set up all around the World Showcase where you can get samples of foods & wines from all over the world (not just the countries that are represented around WS). Most of the samples are between $1-4. Chris and I usually split LOTS of stuff all around the world, and enjoy every minute of it. Yummy, yum, yum!!!

So, what does the $95 get you? Entrance into EPCOT and the F&WF?

The $95 event is a special thing, I think someone said it was the Party for the Senses. That is completely separate from the main F&WF. I'm sure that someone else can tell you about this.

Your regular EPCOT admission gets you into F&WF. As you walk around the WS, you can sample any of the foods that you want for $1-$4. I equate it to something like the Taste of Chicago or here we have the Taste of Pinellas. Lot of restaurants with sample servings.

Someone asked if Epcot would be busy, weekends are usually busier than weekdays. The lines usually get bad around 7pm.

Also regarding what everyone does: I am currently unemployed, I was working from home for an Internet web design company, doing customer service.

Todd is a Software Programmer for a Telecommunications Company, he writes programs that can test call systems and listen to phone calls, he currently works from home.

By the way, who took our nice weather? :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: Diana, Curt? Was it you? ;)

Rainy, windy and COLD here today :cold: :cold: :cold: Highs in the 40's with frost warnings tonight. :cold: :cold: :cold:

I like the :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: much better!

Diana must of taken it. It's 38deg (according to Weatherbug) and overcast here.

Mike and I are planning on going to MNSSHP on Thursday 26th. Are we meeting some where that night? Sorry ,I've been kind of too busy right now.
Mike my husband is a supervisor for Ford. I'm a travel agent /owner. (gave up working in the hospital when my kids came.)
Walmart is one of my least visited stores! It's always to long a check-out line to get out. Last time I went it took up to 30 min to get thru the line. That's not even talking about getting a cart thru those over crowded shopping lanes. If they would fix those two things, I would love Walmart!

Hey everyone! Happy Belated Birthday to all I missed - was in Florida visiting Grandma this weekend and work is crazy.

Ok so I am a Controller for the management company of a large Private Equity firm based in Fort Worth. Private Equity is sort of what Richard Gere did in Pretty Woman except we don't always fire all the employees - heck most of the time we hire more and it's all about the sale (profit)

Matt is a full time student at DeVry at night getting his associates degree in Electronics and Computer Technology (ECT for short) and he can explain that to you on the cruise. His full time job is at Gamestop's corporate distribution center (they are headquartered here) where he currently works in the internet shipping department but soon will be moving to refurb.

Jeff - Matt likes poker too, although it makes me nervous when he plays for real money. Are you playing Hold em and if so Texas or Omaha? I know Texas, Omaha I'm still working on.

We avoid Walmart like the plague - it's oogie

MNSSHP - we're going on Halloween as part of our Honeymoon. That day we are also getting up at the crack o dawn to have our wedding portraits done in front of the MK Castle at 6 am - can you say NAP? LOL

If we want to do a meet that night, I'd be willing to keep the list for this event.

We'll be skipping MNSSHP this year in favor of doing F&W over at Epcot. My favorite part is the fireworks and we'll see those on the Wishes cruise on Friday.

Julie - what a beautiful location for a photo shoot. Can't wait to see your pictures. I hope you will share them with all of us.

As for what we do. I'm a Supervisor in the Account Management Department of a Personalized Direct Mail firm. You know when you get mailings from your credit card that has personalized convenience checks, or a personalized letter telling you that your credit line has been increased? That's what we do. Our job in Account Management is to act as a go between with our customer and the production departments. Mark is a service tech for a large laundry/dry cleaning outfit in the area. He keeps all the machinery running as well as many other projects.

That is the one thing I would change if I could do our FTW over again. Have the MK castle portraits done. Those pictures are going to be incredible and well worth the crack of dawn wake up!

Oohhh, how fun, Julie!!! You'll always remember THAT halloween.

Julie the wakeup call is worth it! Every picture I see at MK in the morning is wonderful ! I hope all of your wedding plans are going smoothly.

Thanks everyone - we are excited!

Mary - we will totally share the photos with you, they will be online after the wedding.

Wedding plans are sailing along - lol - and we're now to the food decisions. It shouldn't be hard but we pretty much have an open slate so we're trying to brain storm now. We need to plan for the Friday night welcome party at Illuminations and the Saturday night wedding (pre reception/reception).

Julie your wedding just sounds amazing. I can't wait to hear more. I didn't realize that you could schedule your pictures in the morning after the wedding. I guess that it does make sense. The pictures will be a wonderful keepsake forever. I wish I would have had a wedding at Disney.

did you guys see the news on the new dining option at MGM? It's geared toward preschoolers....

New Playhouse Disney Character Dining at Hollywood & Vine in Disney-MGM Studios starts June 25, 2006.

Starting today, April 25, 2006, reservations can be made for a NEW character breakfast or lunch at Hollywood & Vine at Disney-MGM Studios. (Dinner will continue to be a NON-character meal.) Characters featured include: JoJo and Goliath from JoJo's Circus and June and Leo from the Little Einsteins. The meals will be hosted by the Playhouse Pals, who will entertain diners with Playhouse Disney songs and dancing.

Thanks Ann Marie! Technically any couple officially married at WDW can schedule their MK photos at any time - I know some who have done it a year later on a later trip due to scheduling or other issues. For instance, in May during Grad Nights there is a big stage in front of the castle and it totally impacts MK wedding photos so these couples can choose another date later. Also, many of us remember the scary pink castle? Well those couples also could choose to come back. We're doing it 2 days later as our reception ends at 12:30 or so and we wanted to sleep a bit. :rotfl:

Congrats on your 1000th post! :cheer2: I just noticed, I'm not sure which post was exactly it though!

So 4 years later, I can haul all my wedding attire back to the MK for a portrait session? Somehow I think after giving birth to 2 children, my dress isn't going to fit like it used to! :lmao:

And I have to admit--I kind of liked the pink castle. Not for my wedding pictures, that's for sure. It was nice for the year is was there, but I was happy to the regular one return.

Yeah, my mom called me to tell me that it was announced to them today. I went to the Restaurant Board and they already knew about it. She also mentioned about the MNSSHP tix on sale on 5/1, but I told her that we knew that already too. She said, "boy, that board is amazing, they really know everything ahead of time, don't they! How do they do that?" I told her that I didn't know, but we already knew.

That's VERY cool, Julie!! That's something that I never knew!

Chris and I thought about a FTW, but we thought that we couldn't afford it. But, after everything that we spent, we could have done it. However, I wouldn't have changed my wedding, but we are thinking about a vow renewal at 20 or 25 at WDW, since it's one of our big loves.
