A tidbit about The Wild.

Disney didn't make it. It's by an outside firm (like Pixar) and Disney bought it, and put their name on it.

http://www.coredp.com/credits/default.asp?sh=nav02

And after looking at the credits side by side, I don't see much that can say either way. The only thing I can see is Madagascar had the 'working title' of The Wild Life.

Madagascar: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0351283/

The Wild: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405469/

My gut feeling is The Wild is the copycat one.

And a bit more.

I was doing google searches to try to find some more detailed production info and ran across something I'd forgotten too. Didn't find anything more detailed as to which was started first however.

This isn't the first time Disney has made a move to overshadow a good Dreamworks amnimation feature. Dreamworks released Antz, which did well, then along came Disney with Bug's Life, which did better.

Now, the only thing I did find in my searching are a large amount of bad reviews of The Wild, basically saying it has too much bathroom humor, too many forced attempts to include Disney hints, and the animation looked too rough.

And Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!

27 Weeks to wait - still!?!?!?

Tonight is DVC Chat night.

Karen - I was there with dd and the baby around 9 on Friday night - if you saw a stroller with the cutest baby - that was us! I think I have to start to add a few lime green ribbons and maybe a DIS button to it when I'm out and about.

Diana - I grew up in Bergen County NJ so it drives me crazy to see that they still have that Blue Law in effect - I used to drive out to some fancy mall in Oakland County - Willowbrook? - I think was the name of the mall - to do some shopping on a Sunday.

So, when will we find out who was first to get a room? I remember how much fun Karen and I had reading all the posts in chat that morning while waiting on hold for DVC to pick up. We got thru early but I know we weren't the first to get our room. That was an exciting morning!

Have a great day everyone and hope to see some of you in chat. :wave2:

Very interesting, Mark!! Thanks for the info! I like to hear that type of background stuff, but I don't have the patience to actually go looking for it.

This was supposed to be a message from me (Curt) but I forgot to log Karen out - oops.

Karen and I have done "Keys to the Kingdom" and we both enjoyed it except for the pompus CM that we had as a guide. Short blonde female... her favorite line was, "Touch with your eyes not with your hands."

Avoid if possible.

Happy Easter all.

Oh she sounds like a doll!

Thanks for sharing these everyone - I know we hope to do the Segway tour on the honeymoon and maybe Keys to the Kingdom (although Matt's already saying we are over programmed lol). He told me he wants to eat at Liberty Tree everynight - um negative! I love it but not for 7 days.

Happy Easter!!!

Hope everyone enjoys the day! Its beautiful here, were just missing the sun, but temp is great!

Thanks for the information. A co-worker took the Keys to the Kingdom tour and enjoyed it as well. I think I'll call tomorrow morning and see if I can make a reservation for that one for our trip next month.

Ok where were we - Karen and I took the Keys to the Kingdon tour, and enjoyed very much except for the pompous little tour guide we had. Her favorite line was, "Touch with your eyes, not your hands." Avoid her if possible or just walk around with your hands in your pockets.

Happy Easter all.

Found us near the bottom of the page so I thought I would give us a bump up. Hope everyone had a nice Easter. We had a pretty quiet one which is very nice. Don't forget DVC chat is tonight.

So when is Cindy due back? I want to find out the answer to who booked first. :)

It definitely wasn't me. I'd actually bet I was one of the last. I know ohanafamily was after me but I dare say he was one of the only ones.

Ohhh, another contest on the horizon. I'll have to check those confirmation ##'s.

Can I have another guess?? Please.....pretty please?? Come on, I'm doing all the work for the t-shirts, the least thing I can get is another guess!! :lmao: I'm guessing Chris (sanddune)!

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I'm gone, what a day and a half, and I come back to a bunch of cheaters!!

Not only Diana, but Mary too!

I'm so disappointed in you both! :rotfl:

Is there anyone else down the line who posted two votes?

Wow Curt, I thought I had invented the line "only touch with your eyes" this past Christmas when my 2 yr old grandson wanted to touch all the ornaments on the Christmas tree. He was so funny when I would tell him that, because he would bend down and get his eyes real close to the ornament and repeat touch with my eyes, right memaw?. Oh well, guess you had to be there...

All the family has left and kitchen is cleaned (thanks to dh for cleaning it for me). I am whipped. These holiday meals are just getting to be a lot of work. Need to rest up so I will have the energy to go to work tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great day whether it was a quiet one or one with lots of noise.

Mary, since you didn't try and cheat -- I'll answer your question.

The lowest confirmation # was sanddune -- Chris.

Followed very closely by me & Amy (Amy, did you know, there's only one confirmation between the two of us??).

Also following very closely along would be MaryJ, BCVowner2002, fireplug & chipscinderelly.

Okay, so who wants to guess the ones in early dining with the highest confirmation ## -- as in they booked one of the last cabins available?

No cheating, Mary & Diana! :sad2:

Curt, I'm so proud of you for not even attempting to vote twice. Heck, you didn't even vote once so by the way I count, it looks like your back to non-cheater status.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter! :cheer2:

Does this mean I can't guess? :confused3

Well I don't care if I'm a cheater cause I was right with Chris!! :cool1:

If I'm allowed to guess at highest confirmation its ohanafamily. If I'm not allowed to guess then :p to you.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. I'm beat. 4+ hours in the car is enough to make me go to bed early and skip the Housewives!

We have been getting our butts kicked here today by mother nature. Over 3 inches of rain, tornado warnings, thunderstorms, high winds, hail, and any combination of them all.

BUT we booked our flights for the trip, so that is a good thing. :cool1:

Hope you all had good days Workin the FD tomorrow.

Did I miss chat? I noticed a few people just entered and exited about two minutes ago. Anyone want to re-join?

Jeff

Sorry, misread the timestamp for those who entered then exited.

Well, Boma's was good but I probably wouldn't go back. The only way I would go back would be if I were staying at AKL and needed a place to eat in a pinch or if someone came to visit me and specifically asked to go there. The prime rib was good but lamb was tough. The best thing was the carrot ginger soup and the salads were pretty good too. Well, it's good to try new places.

I hope everyone had a good easter who celebrated. After dinner I took a drive over to BWV and walked over to BCV, then back to BWV. A lot more people were at the resorts than I remember from other trips, that's why they call it Easter week.

While I was at BW, they had a contest in the lobby to vote for the best 'egg' display where each cast member department made a unique display. Some of the displays were of Luna Park (BWV's pool), 'Eggcot', 'Star Yolks' (parody on star wars) and Happiest celebration on earth (display of each new ride/attraction). I took pictures of each of them and will probably need some help uploading to the DIS. Oh, I forgot the best part was guests got to vote for the best display. This was in the lobby and really was a hoot. I'll upload them sometime this week, can someone help so they don't appear super-large?

Thanks,

Jeff
